This morning I got a yellow warning light flash for a few seconds and then turn solid after driving on the highway for a few minutes. It looks this: (_!_). It is located on the right of the dash display. I just changed my oil and put on winter tires myself two days ago. I hope it isn't related to my maintenance.
View 10 RepliesHad a warning flash up last night that I've not seen before. Had just done a reasonably long run from an airport with 3 burly guys and their luggage. Just as I was pulling up to their hotel the car did a continuous beep and flashed up the warning "Turn Power Off" and flashed the yellow triangle. When I was stopped I was in Park and it was still beeping and flashing this warning.

While I'm driving, the car would start to beep fast (3-4 beeps per sec), the brake and steering wheel stops working, its very stiff and brake pedal is hard! Along with that, there's 4 lights came on the dash; traction control, abs, brake and tire pressure. All this happens when the car starts to beep, and the beep last anywhere from 2-5 second, constantly!
I checked everything and its normal, gas half tank, keyless key is in my pocket, all doors closed, brake pads looks good, tires are good. I've had this car for 4 years, its at 45k miles.
How to fix or solve front turn signals that are not working? I just realized that both the front signals on my Prius doesn't light or flash when making a turn, the rear are working fine. Is this an easy fix or should I bring it to the dealer?
View 4 RepliesMy 1996 GMC Sonoma's turn signals don't flash. The signal bulbs do come on when I flip the switch and I can simulate a turning signal by clicking the switch up and down (which doesn't make me feel silly at all, btw). All six bulbs appear to be working and I can't find any blown fuses. I have also replaced the multifunction switch (which is what two different mechanics told me needed to be done).
View 5 RepliesI've got some issues with my 2005 Toyata Prius (~150,000 miles). My wife was driving recently and the "Master Warning Light", the "Hybrid System Warning Light" and the yellow "Brake System Warning Light" all came on.
Some quick reading of the owners manual said we should take it to a dealer right away, but because it was a yellow, and not red, brake system warning light it seems ok to drive at least to a dealer. in regard to the yellow brake system light the manual said it could be that: "the regenerative brake system failed or that the hydraulic brake system failed".
Now, I have a cheap bluetooth OBD reader hooked up to the "torque" app on my phone and I thought I would try to see what error codes there were to learn more. But strangely, it did not read any fault codes. I've used this reader successfully on my 2001 Mitsubishi galant, but I'm not reading anything for the prius in this case. I'm not sure if there is legitimately no error code associate with the warning lights or if my app is just failing to read them for some reason.
Is there a way to make the running lights flash yellow for signaling a turn like many other makes and models? Would it require aftermarket lights? If I wasn't mistaken, I think I saw an RC doing this today.
Also if this is a thing does that mean I could get the amber out of the headlight? My car is 2015, if that makes a difference.
First off I have a 2010 with about 11,000 miles and it has been running great since I got it. This morning I was greeted with the "Yellow triangle" and the "check hybrid system warning". The car started fine and I pulled out of the garage under battery as usual and then the engine kicked in also as usual, everything seemed normal except for the warning lights. Since I have a long commute I just took my wife's car and got to work and did a forum search on this issue. I called my wife and had her turn the car on and off three times and she said it cleared the yellow triangle and check hybrid system but it still had the check engine light on. She also said the car seemed to be running fine and shes driving around town in it. I couldn't find anything on the check engine light. Is it ok to drive it?
View 3 RepliesThis morning when I started my Prius 3rd Gen 2011, I noticed three yellow lights being on. These were; something similar to handbrake light, ABS light and then the stability control light. All are in yellow. Checked tire pressure and found that one tire was low and filled it. Also, brake fluid was near the low level and I topped it. The lights are still on. I switched on and off several times but the lights are still on.

This is the yellow brake system warning light, not the red brake warning light or the generally similar looking yellow low tire pressure warning light. No other warning lights are on in the service indicator panel. What troubleshooting can I do myself before taking it to service facility?

First in the morning, starts fine, 500 feet later I'm turning out of neighborhood and I get lit up with:
Red triangle master light
Yellow brake warning (went away after I did signal check)
Check engine
Maint required light
The maintenance light is on because I'm 5,000 miles out of an oil change. I checked the stick, it did appear low, so I added a half quart of mobil 1 5w-30.
The inverter pump was changed due to recall in 2012, and I do still see turbulences in the fluid.
I have 3 pips of gasoline in the tank.
The 12V is a newly replaced yellowtop from elearnaid. Replaced about 1 year ago.
My wife and I are driving our 2005 Prius with 130k miles and have experienced some weirdness with the car while driving. We've got the master warning light (red triangle w/ !), and another yellow (!) warning light, plus the center display shows a red car with an !. I've gathered that it means something possibly with the brake controller, so when I parked I put the e-brake on.
The car was driving fine with these lights on (we were in the middle of Canadian highways and couldn't stop anywhere) except that cruise control would not work.
Eventually, it actually went into limp mode, where we would floor the pedal and the car would barely accelerate. Pulled over, turned it off for a few minutes, then back on and it drove fine, warning lights still on.
I just replaced the driver's front wheel hub, and I can hear the passenger front going bad, so I'm suspicious that this may be related. Just replaced the 12v within the last few months with an Optima.
Yellow brake light turned on while driving in rain, then for some reason turned off. I had read somewhere this may be an indicator of wear on brake pads. I have a 90 mi. commute round trip, I will check again if this turns on and stays on. For now, it is off. what could be causing this?
View 1 RepliesI just got a 2015 Prius 4 and during an ordinary turn onto an on-ramp, the engine died. The two yellow engine lights on the left of the panel turned on, but because I had to move along I just turned the car off then on, like a computer and it started right back up. I'm not sure if the electric engine died or not, everything was moving too fast.
I took it in to the dealer today and he said he never heard of that happening and if the engine light hasn't come on since he didn't know about it. I wanted him to log in the info as I couldn't leave the car today, but he said he couldn't do that unless he took it in and had it checked, which I guess I'll do next week.
My carmy had run for 82000 miles now, and never had a problem til now. When I start the car, the "check engine light" turns on. When I go driving, after 2 seconds the car slip warning light turns on.

My headlights are like a dying flashlight. I recently attempted to plug in LED lights and tapped into the parking light directly above the high beams. This caused my pass HID to not work, which then I put both stock bulbs in. Both headlights are on now but at a super low brightness. Any clues on what I should check? There are no warning lights on . All lights function as should just not enough power going to the headlights.

There were no other warning lights that I could see and the warning light was only on for a split-second. What could've caused this? BTW, I have a 2013 Prius LB 3 purchased new in August w/ only 1230 miles as of today...
View 16 RepliesNeed better understanding of the wiring and turn signal selector than I do in my 07 6.0 HD. At first the issue started with the right front and right mirror blinking fast indicating a burnt out rear right turn signal. However after a few seconds the right rear will start working and the speed would be normal. I noticed it worse on very wet days making me think the rear tail light was letting in water and messing with the bulb. But it turns out it does it on nice days too.
These days it has evolved into the turn signal sometimes taking a few seconds before any of the right side actually starts to flash, also sometimes the indicator does not automatically deactivate after a right turn.
Giving the bottom of the steering column a calibrated tap usually always fixes the issue until the next turn.
Assuming its a bad turn signal selector switch Part number YL3T-13K359-ABJAEA but not knowing the wiring diagram I dont see how this bad switch would intermittently stop controlling the right rear turn signal. I would guess that it would tell the flasher left or right, not which lefts and which rights.
I have recently had an issue with the brake warning light coming for 15 seconds or so after navigating a freeway cloverleaf etc. It doesn't come on under any other circumstances. Of course, this sounds like a low brake fluid issue (fluid moves to one side of the reservoir in the corner, causing the sensor to report the fluid is low). However, I have checked the fluid level in the reservoir, and it is very near the full line. I see no external evidence of leakage anywhere (not surprising since the fluid level in the reservoir isn't low), and the brakes work exactly as they always have.
I know the brake light can indicate problems with the traction battery (brand new, in my case), but that doesn't seem to be likely considering the consistently intermittent nature of the warning light illumination. Does the brake warning light monitor anything else other than certain traction battery issues, brake fluid level, and the parking light being on? Is the sensor for the brake fluid level a simple float like I have seen on other vehicles?
