Prius (2010-12) :: Unused Plugs Behind Auxiliary Dash Switch Panel
Feb 13, 2016
I just installed a pair of extra reverse lights and noticed there are a few (3) unused plugs behind the auxiliary dash button panel.

View 1 RepliesWhile I was installing my side mirror turn signals I noticed there were two plugs tucked away in plastic not connected to anything. One is towards the outside of the door. As if it was to be connected to the door handle sensor that comes with the push button start package. The other one was towards the inside of the door, as if it is used with the lane assist or even side mirror turn signals. I never really messed with them as I was following the DYI. I should've checked to see if they were wired to the turn signals so I wouldn't have had to run the wires all the way to the fuse block. Below are the pictures of what I'm talking about.
Front/Inside of door
Rear/Outside of door
The spot in front of the steering wheel is just a bare patch of dashboard. Why not put it to use? I can put my GPS or my phone there any time, attached with magnets.
View 19 RepliesI like the looks and ease of adding on circuits. Just haven't found the best place 5 put it. Mounting one of these in the cabin? I want to hook up my mirrors, dash cam, and future add ons without a nasty pile of wires hanging from the original fuse box.
View 1 RepliesI just bought a certified 2010 Prius and have had it for 3 months now. Twice within one month, there was absolutely no power to start the car because the aux battery went dead overnight. I'm pretty sure I didn't leave any lights on and don't think I did anything differently when exiting the car for those 2 times. I took it into the dealership, and they couldn't find anything wrong. They said the battery was good. What is draining the battery overnight?
View 5 RepliesTrying to locate the wires for the 4 Auxiliary switches as I want to tie into #4 to the 10 amp switch. This is on a 2015 F350 with a 6.7 engine. Book says the wires are located to the right of the glove box door and just above the passenger side kick panel. Tried this location with no success.
On my 2009 dually the wires were easily located on the drivers side on the firewall in the engine compartment.
I have searched for but have not found how to remove the lower center dash panel on a 2005 Prius.
View 1 RepliesDoes the UK gen2 Tspirit have a dimmer control for the dash panel and steering wheel lights. I can control the MFD but the speedo is to dark with head lights on in daylight hours in poor visibility.
View 3 RepliesI have 60k on a 2010 Prius III. my mileage is slowing dropping, i am thinking about installing new plugs.?
View 7 RepliesWe just bought a 2011 and are only getting 40 mpg max. I wonder if the 110 Arizona summer heat has something to do with it. Pretty bummed. I have read 50 with careful driving is normal? I let bicycles outrun me? 12 volt battery? New plugs? It has 107,000.
View 19 RepliesWe have a fleet of Prius's with 11k miles on them. Windshield wipers don't work and cigarette lighter plugs don't work. I'm guessing this is due to blown fuses. Where the fusebox is? I'm getting fed up with this. Also, is there a diagram somewhere that shows which fuses are for which circuits? (IE Which number fuses protects windshield wiper circuit) so I can finally see in the rain...
View 8 RepliesI recently purchased an '01 Prius that needed work. I was driving it last night, and noticed that the dash does not light around the heater controls or radio. The whole center dash area does not light with the headlight switch.
I took a look through the owners manual for any fuse that might control this, but did not find any. I would not think that all of the bulbs would be burned out.
When backing out today I noticed a pretty bad scrapping sound. It went away so I assumed that it was just a trashcan lid that I had run over. Tonight my mom came home and noticed a panel on the street. After looking at this thread [URL] .... I identified the piece that fell off.
View 19 RepliesI own a 2010 Prius that now has over 90K under its belly (got it new at around September 2009).
While driving at night all of a sudden the central LCD panel (Odometer) shut down. The right panel is perfectly fine.
Is there a solution?
I am trying to figure out if my solar panel is functioning or not. The manual says that after one minute the air circulation flow control should change and 10 minutes later the ventilation should start, if parked in bright sunshine and if the switch is activated before switching the ignition off.
I parked the car in bright sunshine, no shaddow. The solar panels were clean and unobstructed. I stayed in the car to see what happens. I had set the air flow control to lower feet only and indoor circulation, so the solar system would need to switch it to outdoor circulation and upper level to work. With the ignition on, I pressed the solar ventilation switch then I switched the ignition off a few seconds later. I waited 1 minute, nothing happened! The ventilation flow routing did not switch to outdoor and there was no noise. I waited 15 minutes and nothing happened (except me starting to sweat a lot!).
Is there a better way to check the solar system function before I go to Toyota to ask them to check it?
My instrument panel glass stays fogged up for weeks after a rain. Shouldn't the dealer fix this with after only 14 months and under 3,000 miles ?
View 1 RepliesI've got a loose panel in the passenger footwell. It's the black plastic panel that your toes touch, if your passenger puts his heels on the floor and points his toes toward the sky. It has some kind of a white pad/filter on the top side.
The edge of the panel nearest the seat is firmly connected. The edge nearest the engine flopped down. I tried to put it back. There seems to be one plastic tab that sticks out and fits too-loosely into a rectangular hole on the front-of-car edge. As soon as my kid gets in the car again, his toes bump the plate and it flops down again.
Is it a big deal to remove the left rear interior door panel? The dealer replaced the door glass and, naturally, the tech didn't align the glass correctly. I'll align the glass myself.
View 2 RepliesThe side trim panel on the passenger side seat was accidentally pulled away in the front. Checked the tabs and clip are intact, is there any special way to push that in? Or just by brute force?
View 1 RepliesI have something really strange that has happened to me... two days ago I noticed a small puddle of water in the back off my Prius on the floor behind the passenger seat. There is absolutely no water anyway else..I've thoroughly searched. I dried it up as much as I can but it seems to continue to get wet - not to the extent it was the first time I saw it, but when I press down with my hand I can hear water in the carpet. I've used a wet vac to suck up as much as I can... but I come back and it is still wet again.... What could be leaking... again.. absolutely nothing else is wet.. and nothing could have spilled that would have produced that much water.
View 7 RepliesHow to remove the window control panel on your door panel on a 2010 prius? I'm not looking to remove the whole door panel I just want to take the little panel that has the 4 window controls off.
