In the owners manual, there are instructions to set all doors to unlock instead of just the driver's door.
I followed these instructions. Now all doors unlock with the smart key (grabbing the drivers door handle), but NOT by pressing the unlock button on he fob.
I have a prius II, so you can only smart key unlock from the drivers door. Is there a way to get all the doors to unlock when you pull the handle instead of just the drivers door unlock. I frequently travel with a passenger and it would be nice to not have to unlock my door first, and then bend over and click the unlock button inside.
View 2 RepliesWe have a few dozen '10 Prius' at work. When I make stops and get out of the car, I like to lock my doors while the car is running so nobody can steal anything inside the car. I tried closing the door and touching the handle on both sides but I just get a long beep tone which lasts about 10 seconds. And sure enough, the door doesn't lock. I hate leaving the car unlocked and I'm used to our old cars where you were able to take the key out of the ignition and lock the doors while the car was still running.
View 19 RepliesI have my doors set to unlock when I open the driver door. sometimes they do not unlock, there is no rhyme or reason for it, just it gets a wild hair and they don't unlock, drive to the next location and it works as advertised.
View 8 RepliesI did a search and read the manual but I can't seem to figure it out. Is there a way to unlock all of the doors by pushing the unlock button on the key fob once? I see in the manual it can be done I think by turning "remote 2 - press unlock" on in the car settings but it doesn't seem to work. Also am I reading correctly that there are no door unlock sensors on the rear doors? With my LS and my old IS I could touch the rear doors and all of the doors would unlock but this can't be done on the GX?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2010 Prius V-ATP with remote keyless entry. When I open the driver door the rear doors do not unlock. When I open the front passenger door, the rear doors do unlock. I would like the driver door to open all 4 doors too. Is this normal operation?. Is there something I can do to fix it or do I have to take it to the dealer?

Kind of wondering how this could happen, but since I like it that way I don't really want to change it back. Is there a way to toggle this and can I change it so that rear doors and hatchback unlock also when I turn the car off?
View 7 RepliesSo I've had my elantra (2013) for 3 months. Today I notice when I unlocked the doors, the interior lights didn't come on. When I tried to turn them on nothing happened. Then I tried turning the car on and they all came on. Then I turned the car off and the interior lights didn't turn on when I pulled out the key like they normally do. Then I tried opening the door, and the lights didn't turn on like they normally do when I open the door.

View 2 RepliesI just finished installing sound deadners and vibration control in my rear doors and when I finished the doors would not unlock...at all. Manually nor automatically. I'm sure the linkage cable was green on top, grey on the bottom. The real problem here is that I can't even get the doors open to look for a fix. This may be a dealer appointment. On the bright side, with just the rear doors complete the sound is already vastly improved over stock.

But it looks like on the Display Audio system, it cannot be set. Can the dealer set it instead?
Why wouldn't the touch sensitive lock/unlock on the driver and passenger doors not work? I verified that all doors are latched and windows are closed but when I touch the handle to lock the GX I get a long beep.
View 4 RepliesMy FOB doesn't work locking/unlocking my '06 prius. I use the embedded key to lock. When I want to lock it, I lock it from the inside.
a. I know the door lock actuator motors are not bad because I was able to lock it from the inside using the lock/unlock switch on the driver side door panel.
b. I checked the voltage on the AUX battery. It read 12.4v. So that is not the problem.
c. Key fob battery strength is good (I see the red LED every time I use the remote).
d. I don't have a SKS system so no switch exists to enable or disable the SKS under the steering.
While on a recent vacation, my sister-in-law, trying to do a good thing, washed my clothes but neglected to remove my FOB for my 2008 Prius. I returned home only to find that the FOB would not lock/unlock the doors.
I replaced the battery (the old one was reading only .03vDC) but still no remote lock/unlock.
How can you tell if the FOB is working since there is no "little red light" like I have seen mentioned by other owners
It looks as if the FOB should be watertight, is it? Any way to clean inside the FOB in case there is some corrosion? What should be my next step?
…well, I guess it just had to happen sooner or later! I was out running errands yesterday, and when I returned to my car, found that I was unable to unlock the doors, so I tried the buttons on the SmartKey FOB all to no avail, so ended up using the mechanical key to unlock the door, and placed the FOB in the slot in the dash. I checked the FOB battery when I got home, and found it to be slightly less than the 3.00V, plus the fact that it was quite cold yesterday, so that might have been a contributing factor. I've not needed to replace the FOB batteries in the 2 years I've owned the car.

View 10 RepliesI've looked in the owner's manual, but only find that they exist, no instructions on turning them on. I know I can unlock the doors with the key fob at night and the lights will come on, including the puddle lights on the bottoms of the rear view mirrors. If I touch the door handles instead of using the key fob (my preferred method of unlocking the vehicle), the doors unlock, but the puddle lights do not come on.
I would also like to be able to turn them on when I am getting ready to exit the car, especially so the wife does not step in a puddle.
Prius sat in my garage for about a month without moving went to start it up had 0 power, the unlock button on the keys wouldn't even open the doors. So I tried to jump start the car which would kind of work. The car would turn on for a few secs maybe 5 sec then turn right back off. So had the battery tested and came back as bad battery.
View 13 RepliesI have 4 differnt FOBs and i get the same response from all of them. they will unlock the doors and the lights flash on the car and remote but when i try and lock with remote, the light on the remote flashes but i get nothing from the car.
View 6 RepliesMy daughter picked up an 08 Base, option package #1 yesterday. It has 166K miles and checked out okay by me (coolant moving by inverter pump, no signs of water in spare tire well...etc.). The car only had 1 key fob (non-SKS) wit no spare key or fob. The key is uncut but the remote starts and runs the car. The remote will not lock or unlock the doors.
The first thing I did was replace the CR2032 battery with no change. It still operated the car but not the locks. I noticed that the little red light wasn't coming on when pushing the buttons and found the red panic button was stuck. Took care of that and thought all was good until I tried to lock and unlock the doors again. Nope! Light comes on, works in slot to start the car, but not the locks.
