Prius (2010-12) :: Turn Off Audible Interior Beeping Signal For Reverse?

Can the audible interior beeping signal for reverse be shut off in the 2010? Is it the same procedure as for the 2007?

View 1 RepliesMy neighbor just got something done to her old Ford Taurus, possibly a new transmission. The car now BEEPS LOUDLY when backing up. Why the heck is this happening? Could something from a service vehicle have been installed? She leaves early in the morning, and I don't want to be awakened. How can this be disabled?
View 12 RepliesIts annoying as hell. I tried the method for the gen II Prius I found here in the forum but it didn't work. I looked through the audio display unit for a way but couldn't find it. In the owners manual there is a "beep once option" in custom settings but its says it can only be done at the Toyota dealer. Do they need a scan tool to program it or is there a sequence of buttons pressed to change the function...
View 4 RepliesWhen I put my new Prius v in reverse and back it up, there's this infernal beeping *smile*. How can I turn that off?

View 2 RepliesWhy the continuous beeping in reverse? Wouldn't one beep suffice? My suggestion to the engineers would be...If you must have the car do something extra electronically while backing-up, have it mute the radio speakers. My guess is that more accidents would be prevented by the forced silence, than by the distracting beeping.
View 19 RepliesI own a 2010 model III Prius and the reverse beeping is driving me crazy. How to disable the beeping without visiting your Toyota dealership?
View 3 RepliesIt has happened about 4 times. Most recently this weekend. Driving around the non-hilly part of SF. About 80deg, tried to back up to parallel park and had to push it in reverse 3x. Popped out twice after beeping and reversing for 2 secs, about 4 feet. Very slight hill going reverse- about 5 deg.

View 19 RepliesA couple months ago I bought a 2010 with the basic trim package. How to change the Beeping in reverse from continuous to "one beep". The owner's manual says that you have to take it to the dealer.
View 5 RepliesThe other day I backed out of my garage and didn't notice that the parking brake was still engaged. The car rolled out without a problem.
Only when I put it in drive did I realize that the parking brake was on, since the car didn't roll forward. I also got an audible alarm.
My interior right turn signal light wont come on. The right exterior bulbs work fine. I swapped the bulb with a new one and it still doesnt come on. Could the socket be bad? Should I have sprayed the cluster bulb socket with contact cleaner?
View 4 RepliesRight turn signal stays on all the time. What's up?
View 2 RepliesI have 2012 Prius that developed weird issue with turn signal. Every time turn signal is activated both front turn signals flashes and both rear turn signals flashes but one is very dimmed so I haven't noticed it is on until I pulled the bulb out.
So far, I took it to dealership and they replaced headlight switch which resulted in no change in condition. They also pin check wiring from switches to control modules, ohm tested ok. Since I am out of warranty they don't want to do anything unless I agree with extended diagnostics of 10+ hours of labor.
I am going to get some equipment (multimeter, scope) and do some voltage measurement to try to figure out what is going on. I don't know where the flasher and relays are located on Prius. Also looking for vschematic of the circuit to troubleshoot.
2002 Elantra GLS automatic Every once in a while when I use my turn signal, the signal will either not come on at all or flash very slowly. Also, all the interior lights (gauge cluster, windows, radio etc) that are on when I turn on the headlights will flicker when I move the turn signal selector sometimes. This comes and goes and the only way I can sometimes replicate it is when the headlight is on, I'll kinda jiggle the turn signal selector up and down and the interior lights will flicker and go out then come back on. Turning the steering wheel will sometimes cause the turn signals to flash slower or stop altogether, but again this comes and goes.
I'm guessing its something inside the steering column....maybe a loose or dirty contact? Or maybe a flasher? I know my old Camaro has a flasher that looked like a relay. Once the turn signal just came on and didn't flash and that's what I had to replace.
2015 GX460... Getting a loud beeping when you are in reverse? I have looked in the manual but could not find a way to turn it off.
View 4 RepliesJust got a 2014 Prius Three. All my precious cars (non-Prius) had an automatic on headlight system, noticed the Prius doesn't. Can I just replace the turn signal lever with one that has the 'auto' feature? Could it possibly be that simple?
View 2 RepliesThis issue came on suddenly. I unplugged the license plate lights- fuse still blew. I don't know where the wire harness is for this group of wires going to these lights to check for frayed or melted wires. I don't see any damage any where. I am severely limited for funds for a mechanic so I need to try and figure this out first myself. Looking for pictures of how I can traces the wires through the car?
View 1 RepliesLast week I was told I needed a new engine battery because of low voltage. Later that day I put the car in reverse and it started beeping. I thought something was wrong because the battery that I've had since October 2008 didn't do that. I took my car back to the dealer to have it checked. The technician said that he couldn't change the setting. I also had 3 recalls fixed the day the battery was replaced.
What about the beeping when in reverse. Why didn't it do that with my original battery and why is it doing it now? Or could it be something else?
The technician at Toyota showed me the options. You could either have a continuous beep or the intermittent beep, but you do not have the option of turning it off. I told him it was possible, but how?
View 19 RepliesI have 70,000 miles and this weird rattling somewhere in front, probably drivetrain, only audible at 60-70 mph, medium load, so no pinging. worse on high speed right turns, like highway entrance, and in this circumstance audible at about 50mph.
I recently did cleaning of intake manifold, EGR pipe, and TB and an oil change and no change. The noise is totally absent in city/suburb style of driving with speeds up to 50mph. what could that be? It's clearly getting worse. could it be connected to the CV clicking noise i have at slow speeds?
I searched some more and there are few threads about noise that sounds like pinging, but doesn't behave like pinging. no resolution except for the standard advice about higher octanes and gas additives:
-Engine ping under load
-Higher octane gas for fuel pinging
-Engine pinging
