My 2010 Prius' touchscreen went from working perfectly fine one day to not working the next. When I try to tap one of the virtual buttons, it will trigger something else, leading me to believe it is misaligned somehow. Anything I can do without having to take it into the dealer or purchase something new?
View 7 RepliesOne random day the back light on my 10 Prius III touch screen went out, so can't use features effectively. Screen does a QuickFlash when I turn the car on and most of the functions work on screen when I get lucky enough to touch the right spot. Radio works. CD check! Nav works, just can't really see it. Warranty is long past expiration.
View 2 RepliesI've been noticing some issues with the touchscreen on my 2007 Gen2. Sometimes when I touch the screen, the unit doesn't respond. Other times, I need to touch slightly above the area I am supposed to touch in order to get the correct response. It doesn't happen all the time, but more than just occasionally. I asked my local dealership about it and they say the screen probably needs to be replaced. I've also heard that perhaps recalibrating the screen could work.

but the buttons on the steering can still control the colume and the radio !!
Three intermittent problems with 2012 Prius Two.
1. Backup camera usually doesn't work but sometimes does.
2. Car 3 times has not gone into start when we press brake and power button. All the error lights go on. We keep trying, and eventually, it goes on and the problem does not often recur. The most recent time this was after stopping for a few minutes after hours of driving, so the battery should have been fully charged and everything warm. fter the second problem, the dealer checked it out, said the 12 v battery was fine and couldn't replicate a problem.
3. Just yesterday, with lights and window washers on, only the Ready light, the Gear indicator, and the headlight lamp were on. Everything else on the display was dark. No speed, no gas tank indicator, etc. Turning the headlights off and on fixed the problem for about 5 seconds, and then it recurred. This morning, with no rain and therefore no wipers, there was no problem, with or without the headlights.
The touchscreen for radio, navigation, etc. stopped working. Completely locked up. My truck is a 14 with less then 3000 miles.

View 3 RepliesFor the second-generation Prius : I was wondering if there is some way to make the screen stay on the mode that you are in and not switch back to consumption/ energy by itself all the time? For example you push audio to see the radio station info or the CD track info and it will stay in audio mode until you change it. Or if you want it to stay in climate mode and not Have it change back to energy/consumption after about five or 10 seconds.
View 2 RepliesI have had this car for about a year now, no problems other than the check engine light has come on and after a code check found out its the Cat converter *yay*.
Most recently the A/C blower is working rather intermittent, can start off blowing just fine and then the blower seems to decrease while the screen still shows it on high. AC temp is just fine, just the blower is having issues. Sometimes it will turn off all together and not come back on at all for several hours. I am thinking it might be the fan motor, but I don't know enough about these cars to say for certain.
I have a weird problem... on my 2004 Prius, the Info button on the wheel occasionally stops working. Originally, I thought that it was the button, so I just pushed harder, but that didn't accomplish anything. I can still access the screen through the MFD button, but the steering wheel button remains dead until I power off the car, then it works fine.
View 10 RepliesMy passenger side brake light has developed a fault over the past couple of months. The brake light will work, for example, when I turn the car on both lights will come on, however if I then take my foot off the brake and re-apply it, it will not work. However later when I am driving I will notice (via reflections) that it is working again!
I am aware that the bulbs cannot be replace and that I would need to replace the whole unit (after market versions available for £75 ish). I have attempted to check the cabling and everything appears OK but I am not an expert. I just removed the rear paneling and made sure nothing was loosely connected.
I have 2010 Prius III. the indicators hardly ever turn off even even when the wheel is right back and the click sound is very quiet.
View 1 RepliesMy Prius's horn goes off intermittently few times during the day and night. It is happened every hour and the horn goes off repeatedly 6 time "Pi-Pi-Pi-Pi-Pi-Pi". I don't know why horn goes off intermittently. I checked my car, but I cannot aware any problem so far.

View 19 RepliesI just brought my 2011 Prius to the dealership today after the check engine light came on. Last night, the car was intermittently revving at a high level, but otherwise the car as running fine. The service technician was saying it was the VSV valve that was intermittently sticking. I was told that there was a software update on this valve that might take care of the problem; I asked about the lifespan for the valve, but he had no information about that. I told him to just do the software update, but now I'm wondering if I should also replace the valve.

I was stopped at a light with my foot on the brake. There is a clunk noise, then the indicator light comes on.
The first time I tried to go, and the car stayed put. I hit the parking button, then went back into gear, no problem.
The second time I just put it in park and then back to gear. No problem.
One morning last week I opened the car door and it started to beep real loud - like an alarm set off (I don't have an alarm system in my car) - It lasted 30 seconds. I went about driving the car and it ran fine. I stopped at a place - went out and came back to drive out again. As soon as I opened the door the alarm went off again. This time it lasted 20 seconds. I have not had the issue since then -(a week gone). What could be wrong. I know it happened and will happen again. I don't know if battery is low - everything works fine and car is running like a charm. battery indicator shows full when on the road. I can't recreate the problem.
View 4 RepliesThe rubber (insulator?) around the antenna mast was seriously compromised, I noticed, when it was removed for a car wash (an infrequent occurrence). The radio worked occasionally after that.
Then I had a minor water leak through the vent system due to a blocked drainage lip on the particulate filter. The floor was soaked, causing the alarm to go off without warning (now dried and working correctly), but the radio stopped altogether if i remember correctly.
Then the wipers stopped working when it rained (they worked when dry). Replaced the wiper motor, and lo and behold, the radio works again sometimes - when it's dry out. obviously, i need to replace the antenna mast. Will this correct it?
I have a new 2015 Camry SE (Without the premium Audio) and yesterday drove from Ohio to Florida and during our trip the TouchScreen would "go out"/lock up/freeze (whatever you'd like to call it) about 5 times. When the touch screen goes out, all the audio controls would also go out. This means all the audio controls on the dash AS WELL AS all the audio controls on the steering wheel.
In order to fix the issue, you need to turn the car off, then start it back up again. Once doing that, everything will work anywhere from a few minutes to hours. I was wondering, I was going through the options on the screen and found an "update software" option, but was unsure how to actually check for an update.
I've had my 2015 SFS for a month and have been using Siri on my iPhone to send texts with no problem. Then yesterday, after doing just that, the cars touchscreen was frozen on the phone. I couldn't switch back to music, couldn't exit out of phone, couldn't use the cars voice activation. Nothing! Only went away after I shut off the car and opened my door.
I thought it was a one time glitch...but nope. Just happened again today. I had to pull over during my commute to work and shut the stinkin car off!!!
i have a 04 f250 cc short box 6.0 and im installing a 7" indash dvd/radio player along with a 9" universal monitor, 12" kicker sub, and amp.
my question is i have matched up all the speaker wires no problem power ground and illumination wires good.
now on my ford end of my harness i still have a pink wire a black/green wire and a red/black wire.....what are these wires for?
