Had my 2010 Prius in for oil change (at Ford) and they noticed slight amount of seepage on one of the wheels. unfortunately, i did not pick up the car until several hours after the service dept closed so still waiting to get some details but wondering
View 3 RepliesI have a 2010 with about 166k miles. I am getting a slight hesitation at slight acceleration or constant speed. It does not matter if it's on highway or freeway speeds. Now I am not sure if this in junction with me changing the PCV valve, cleaning the EGR pipe, or cleaning the TB for carbon recently. It started happening a week after it though.
View 19 RepliesThis is weird, I just replaced my ICE water pump 2 months ago and now upon inspection, I notice there is pink seepage coming out of the pump again. Although it's a very very slight amount, but being the fluid is pink, I can see the stuff coming out again.

View 2 RepliesLast week I switched my wheels and tires out from OEM 15 x 6 wheels with 195/55R15 Good Year Fuel Max tires to 16 x 7 Drag DR9 wheels (16.55 lbs.) with 205/50R16 Good Year Fuel Max tires. ( I wanted a different look) At first I didn't notice any change in mpg's, but that soon changed. The temps went down into the 20's for lows and 30's for highs. I went from 48 - 50 mpg to 41 -43 mpg in just a few days. I assumed that the drop was due to the cold weather. This morning I decided to check the tire pressure in the new tires. 32 psi all the way around. I asked the guys that installed the tires to fill them up to 44 front, 42 rear. I guess that never happened. Anyway, I looked on the sidewall of the tire to check max pressure and I was shocked (51 psi). I ran 44 front, 42 front on my old set, because that was what I was advised to do.
View 13 RepliesI have a 2011 Prius. I put 15" aftermarket summer wheels on it and a vibration appeared The wheels and tires have been rebalanced many times. Wheel alignment has been done, wheels replaced, tires replaced but the vibration is still there. I am now back to the OEM and the vibration is still there.
View 12 RepliesYesterday when I jacked up my car to switch to winter tires I hear this clicking sound, every stroke I turned the jack it will make that sound and it continues until my wheel is off the ground then it will stop. It only came from the rear 2 wheels and it happened when I jacked up the front and the back (more noticeable when jacking up the back).
I continue anyway, but today when I am driving down a parking lot (down hill turning) I hear this bumping sound from the back (sounds like bouncing basketball), it will go away if I stop but continues once I start driving again. I stop the car on flat ground and examined the tires and found nothing odd. Then when I restart the car the sound went away.
My 5 month old 2011 Prius Two ran out of windshield wiper fluid yesterday. This was somewhat surprising, since I haven't used the cleaner that much - and I would assume that the dealer filled it up when I bought the car. So I added some more (even used the "windshield wiper dipstick" to make sure that I didn't overfill). I also used a funnel, so no fluid spilled anywhere. I then turned the car on, and made sure that the front and rear wiper/cleaners worked - everything was fine.
But when I got out of the car, I noticed a small amount of liquid on the ground, near the front passenger wheel. I saw small amounts of liquid dripping off the car. So I called my dealer, said I thought the plastic wiper cleaner container had a leak, and they said bring the car in. When I got to the dealer, the attendant said: "Is it the front right of the car?" (i.e. where the liquid was coming out, I hadn't even mentioned where I had seen the leak). I said yes.
He then asked me to run my front wipers with the cleaner coming out for about 15 seconds (longer than one would usually do that). I then got out the car, and he showed me lots of liquid that "appeared" to be leaking out the container; however, the attendant said that was just runoff of the excess cleaner. He said if there is extra cleaner it gets diverted mostly to the front right, and a little to the front left. He said he had a 2010 Pruis, and it does the same thing. He said if you're driving on the highway, you'd obviously never noticed it. So you only see it when you use the wiper/cleaners when parked (not usually the case). I mentioned that I had never noticed this in my previous cars (all Saturns). He said he thought the Saturn might have diverted the fluid more towards the middle underneath. But since the Saturn actually required a key to turn on, I don't recall ever testing the wiper/cleaners, after refilling with more fluid (it's just that it's so easy to turn on a Prius...
I have been driving 2013 model for five months. I noticed that whenever any front wheel rolls over cat-eye on the road and any sudden small bump then it generates noticeable clicking sound. I went to the dealer and they said it is normal and comes with all such cars.

Now it looks like there is no effects as the lights will just keep blinking even if i am holding the button down. Does this mean the tire shop broke one of my sensor during the install?
View 5 RepliesThe front wheels on my 04 accent has a slight vibration ( it's so slight that you don't notice it ) when driving at any speed . if I let go of the steering wheel , it wobbles back and forth . I also sometimes get a vibration on the steering wheel at high speeds when braking which feels like a rumble on a game controller .
View 3 RepliesFrom day one my 2012 Prius 3 has had a shake that starts at 63mph and goes away at 69mph. Sometimes it's worse then others. I can feel it in the steering wheel and the floor broards. I took it back to the dealer and they said they felt it but couldn't find anything wrong. They actually put new wheels and tires on it! It seemed alright for while but I noticed it again the other day, I don't drive that speed that often. I'm either below or above it but the other day I got caught in traffic doing 65 and noticed it right away. I made a new appt this next week at the dealer again. It's not real bad just more annoying then anything. I searched on here but couldn't find anything.
View 17 RepliesAbout a month ago, I noticed a slight 'thump thump' at speeds under 20 and started thinking either tire or wheel bearing. Turns didn't seem to change the sound/feel but it always smoothed out over 30 mph. I could not see anything visibly wrong with the tires other than the front pair needed to be replaced. Wear otherwise looked normal. But Monday night, I needed to pickup my laptop computer at work and my wife and her two dogs came along.
It was midnight when we left but for good measure, I felt around the tires and could feel nothing. Overcast, storms were predicted and were on the radar west of us. We walked the dogs; got the computer, and; Holly said she'd like a nightcap. So we went to a local bar and had a good time. Got back in the car, backed up less than 2 ft and 'poof' a cloud of white power flew from the passenger side, front tire:

It appears as though my car is charging just slightly when I'm driving and my foot is neither on the accelerator or the brake. Is this normal?
Also, this light is on. I'm not sure what this is....
When traveling over bridges that have a ribbed steel ramp over the draw portion of the bridge, my 2012 Gen III does a slight shimmy.
View 3 RepliesMy 2010 Prius with 140000km has developed a vibration noticeable anywhere from 50-80 km/hr when in slight acceleration (just over 1/2 on the green bars) with the ICE running. Dropping the throttle or hard acceleration makes it disappear completely - which tells me it's driveline related. It feels like its coming from the passenger side, particularly rear, but it's definitely getting worse and I can now feel it in the driver's door panel so it's becoming a major concern.
My first thought (due to the location) was a bad muffler but it's not any louder. I'm starting to worry it may be a transaxle bearing. I can't see it being a cv joint as there's no noises when cornering and everything underneath looked OK at a recent oil change. I love this car (what Prius owner doesn't?) and I sure can't afford to replace it. It's been babied since day one.
Just bought a 2010 Prius with 48k miles. I'm noticing what feels like a slight slipping when rapidly accelerating, or that's what I would call it in any other car. It's barely noticeable, and my only concern is if this is the beginning of a transmission issue.
View 19 RepliesToday I was unable to turn the ignition key to start the car. It is not the steering interlock, and no amount of wiggling while turning will get the ignition to turn. I tried both the keys I have (1 master and one valet key). Both keys are quite worn, but it seems unlikely that a new key from Toyota will be the answer.
View 18 RepliesBought a second hand 2010 prius a couple of months ago. Between about 58 and 68 mph I get a pulsating hum and slight vibration that seems to come from the front of the car. Each pulse lasts about a second then appears again in another second. It's there when going straight and worse if I go round a tight right hand bend and reduces round a left hand bend. If I lift off the accelerator it makes no difference.

View 19 RepliesThis may be by design but while cleaning my car running my hand w dry cloth over steering wheel I noticed a slight bump. To the left of the Toyota logo. I'm not sure if it's on purpose so if the airbag deploys it breaks away but I just noticed it. it's a 2015 Prius 3. Rather not have the airbag go off while driving.
