I have a 2010 Prius III and was pleasantly surprised to find out that the side mirrors defrosted when the rear defroster was turned on. I looked in the owners manual and it said if equipped. Which Prius models do not have these defrosters, the package II? My mirrors do not have the little defroster icon, but I'm almost positive it must have them.

View 11 RepliesI'd like to disable my rear window defroster but keep my heated mirrors. Reason being I don't won't my rear window to explode when I turn it on. I have a 2011 bought a couple of months ago. Could I pull the fuse and still have the mirrors on? I rarely use the back window as I use to side mirrors. Drive a 18 wheeler for a living.
View 14 RepliesI bought a used 2013 F150 Limited. The truck only had 24,000 miles on it and is still under the 36/36 warranty.
I tried to use the rear defroster and the button never stayed on. As I started to investigate the truck through the owners manual I realized that it was supposed to come with heated mirrors, standard equipment on the limited, and it shows them on the VIN build out. It does not have the heated mirrors installed.
I take it to my local dealer to get the rear defroster fixed and have the mirrors installed and the dealer won't do it. I have to call Ford and open a case. I do this and Ford rejects my claim since I bought it used.
To me this shows a very poor business ethic and is disrespectful to a long time loyal Ford customer. To be honest this has really ticked me off and completely turned me off towards Ford.
Got our 2012 package 5 lesss than a month ago, so we haven't had much opportunity to use the rear defroster. The two times I have used it I noticed that it works well on the upper rear window, but the glass below the rear spoiler doesn't seem to be clearing. The red/orange "wires" are visible in the glass, but don't appear to do anything. Wasn't planning to head back to the dealer until first service since we haven't had any other problems, but this could be annoying with the winter weather.

View 6 RepliesMy 2010 Prius mirrors are at slightly different angles to the car body when fully unfolded. Driver side is about 10 degrees further away than passenger mirror. I saw another Prius with same thing. Is this normal and do others have same thing?
View 10 RepliesMy car was at the shop today for tinting and clear bra installation. On my way home, however, the rear wiper randomly turned itself on while I was on the highway. No matter what I did (flipping the REAR switch from OFF to INT, to ON, and back to OFF again), it still kept wiping, wiping, and wiping some more.
I'm taking this car into the service dept tomorrow morning so hopefully they can figure out what the issue is. I had a hard time talking due to a majorly sore throat.. but here's a vid I took when I got home:

i have prius 2004 yesterday the rear defroster stopped and not working while the key on steering wheel and the yallow light indicator works very well and mirror defroster also working well, this case it become yesterday but before that it was working as usual.

The fuse panel under the dash on the drivers side doesn't have it marked and the local dealer can't tell me where it is either. They want me to bring it in, of course! Exactly where this fuse is located?

When I press the Off button for the AC system, the orange LED stays lit on the front defroster button.
Is this normal?
When I shift to reverse, the side mirrors angle downwards automatically. The driver's side one squeaks when it does this. Any tip to remove the squeak.
I recently upgraded my puddle lamps to blue LEDs to match my interior lights and took the opportunity to spray a little bit of WD40 on the mechanism. I didn't use much, since the mirrors are basically friction fit I didn't think it wise to spray all over, but that didn't seem to make any difference.
The mirror still seems to move freely enough and nothing obvious is rubbing.
I have a 2013 RX. This problem just started today. Have I accidentally changed some setting or do I need to take the car to the dealer for repair?
View 5 RepliesA couple of days ago I noticed that one of the elements in the upper rear window defogger/defroster isn't working. It's the fifth one from the bottom I believe. All the other elements on the top and bottom seem to be working correctly. Is there a way to correct this without taking it to the dealer?

View 2 RepliesI went to adjust my power mirrors today and it seems that there is no power to either one. I assume the fuse (#2 ECU-ACC) is okay because the other items on that fuse are working (audio, nav, etc).
