Prius (2010-12) :: Replacing Broken Interior Light Cover
Feb 5, 2016
The plastic cover on the left front interior light came off; it is mostly intact but the small plastic tab in the inside (where the lightbulb is) is broken. It seems to be attached to the whole mechanism.

When I replaced the cabin air filter recently, I noticed the little latch loop on the left hand side bottom was broken. I just put it together and it does not rattle.

I opened the hood today to install the Carbon Fiber logo and noticed that the plastic cover sitting on top of the radiator was loose. That's when I noticed that the 2 clips holding the plastic cover were broken.

The clear cover on the directional signal on the right rear view mirror was smashed in a parking lot. I have purchased the replacement part but am looking for instructions as to how to replace it.

What's the best way to find the information on changing a broken lens on a daytime running light led on a 2013 Prius 2? Can't find anything on YouTube. Would the owners manual have anything like that? The led still works but I'm afraid moisture will cause it to malfunction. Will I have to buy the whole led assembly?

My girlfriend has a 2000 Toyota Celica, and one of her tail light covers broke a while back. I'm pretty sure I can replace it myself, but with the age of the part, is there any source for a used replacement? At the moment, I can't remember which one it is, but I could replace them both if I could find a matched pair.

I was loosening the bolt that holds down the number one spark plug wire when it just spun off leaving less than half the bolt in the valve cover. I tried using the grabbit extractor but that did not work.

On a 2007 Camry CE i4. My air intake box broke, either age or the mechanics that worked on my car broke it. And ones on ebay cost 100+ dollars. Either a customer cai will be cheaper, or the junk yard. I know a cai does nothing but changes the sound of your car.

Changing the valve cover gasket on the 4 cylinder 2.4l. I was going to change mine's. Didn't know if there are any special tips like sealant to be used, loosening bolt sequence or tightening sequence, torque values.

I'm replacing the valve cover gasket on my 94 Honda Accord. I've heard all sorts of crazy opinions on what needs to be done while installing the gasket such as using various sealants or lubricants. Should anything be put on the gasket or should I just drop it in and screw the valve cover back on?
I'm also replacing the spark plugs while I'm at it. Is there anything else I should do while I'm in there?

I just noticed my 2010 Prius doesn't have the plastic piece/cover that goes across the inverter. I posted a picture of the black plastic/metal? piece/cover. Would any service require the removal of that piece? Only thing I can think of is the Dealer replacing the recalled brake pump assembly.

1996 K2500 Sub. My driver's door inside handle broke. I can get just the handle, or the whole inside unit w/handle for about the same price. Any difference in installation? One easier than the other?

So one of the green wires broke off at the bulb connection and my 3rd brake light is not working. If I touch the ends together the light does work. Can I just remove the broken wire in the connector and reattach the current wire? Or do I have to replace the whole thing?

My mk4 sat for a while and upon starting up was misfiring. I checked for pvc leaks and didn't see anything but went ahead and cleaned my maf sensor and decided to pull my coils. Cylinder 1 had oil on the tip and around the spark plug which to me spelled out a bad valve cover gasket. I got all the parts to do the inner and outer gaskets and replace the coil and spark plug, however we got a snowstorm and my luck a rabbit got in and ate the wiring on one of my fuel injector connectors.
So went ahead and put on the new gasket, replaced the coil and plug and bought a new Fuel Injector Connector and spliced in onto the Injector "Pigtail'. I double checked everything was reattached properly and let the gasket sealant dry for 24 hours. I went to start it tonight and after trying to turnover it completely cuts out, wont even start up. I'm extremely frustrated at this point and am thinking the rabbit must have gotten to something else unless I did something wrong in the process of repairing.

Own a 2000 Camry XLE 6-cyl. Both valve cover gaskets are leaking. Rear one leaks onto the manifold and causes stench. Have been quoted $350. to replace because the job is complicated. Have any of you done this on your own, and if so, would you recommend it or go to a qualified mechanic?

Truck was running a little rough before valve cover gasket replacement. Replaced gaskets and it ran rougher than before. Found a burned out spark plug coil and replaced coils, plugs, and wire. Runs smoothly now, but there's very, very low power, probably tops out at 35 mph. What gives?

Most of the info I could find recommended replacing the entire glove box, and removing the center console to do so. I found a replacement door on ECS tuning's website, but I can't find a DIY on replacing the door/lid only. Any way out on replacing the door only, are the same steps required/removing the center console and taking the entire box out, or can the ECS tuning lid be fitted without as much disassembly?

The winter snow/ice up here in AK has knocked off my oil drain plug/filter cover. The dealership wants $300 for a new cover plus a few more bucks for the 10 plastic clips to attach it. Any way/source to get this cheaper? I'm guessing I can manage to clip it in myself...

Had our dealer service (non oil change interval) today at 46k miles. Was informed that there is an oil leak from the timing cover seal.
I was told it's not a minor job to remove the timing cover and reseal due to the many labor hours involved. 2 days of work required.

How do you remove the top steering column cover? This is the plastic piece immediately toward the front of the car from the steering wheel. It covers the steering column and is not part of the steering wheel. Part number is 45286-47040-C0 and the parts breakdown doesn't show any fasteners, it probably has some tabs that need to be released, but where?
