I have a 2012 Gen III. The regular headlights do not seem to shut off when I exit the car. The DRL and the other setting (not sure what it is) headlights do shut off when exiting the car. Is this correct?
View 5 RepliesYesterday my 2010 Prius 4 (98k miles) was normal until I switched the lights from normal to hi beam and then back again. The hi bean works but the regular headlights do not. All other lights work and there are no warning lights lit. Turn signals are normal. Could this be a circuit breaker?

If I'm using Bluetooth to listen to music and my headlights are on when I switch the headlights off to just parking and the daytime running lights the navigation/radio shuts off the music and goes to the off screen. At first I thought it was just a fluke, but then several more times I tried it and every time it turns off.

I turned off the "easy entry/exit function" and when I turn off the car the steering wheel still automatically moves into the most upward position. It's only suppose to do this with the function on.
Is something broken? Should I get this fixed?
The navigation system always directs me to take every exit off a freeway. Should I delete all my "marks" in the system or is there something more I can do?

View 19 RepliesWe are newer to hybrids. We purchased a used 2012 prius approximately 1 year ago. Within the past year, we have replaced the headlights approximately 6 times. Last month we replaced both front lights and tonight, out of nowhere 3 lights burnt out (both headlights and 1 bright light). It was dark outside and we live in a rural area so we had to drive 90 miles with 1 bright and the 2 day time lamps.
We maybe have changed bulbs in other vehicles once every couple of years and this is a monthly thing with our Prius. They aren't cheap so it's frustrating. My husband has been changing the bulbs and he does not touch the glass.
I have a 2012 Prius and I like the DRL to stay on even when the Headlight are on or off. Currently if Headlights are turned on the DRL turns off and I would like the control to turn DRL on or off.

Next day they worked again. 2 days ago both low lights went out again. My son checked and the bulbs are fine, the fuses are fine but the voltage meter says very low voltage with high resistance. What does that mean? I know there was a class action suit for the same reason for up to the 2009 model.
View 18 RepliesI bought this car new in 2010 and it's a level IV not Four as it is a 2010. I am about to replace my headlights for the 5th time after only having had these for about 3-4 months. The dealership says that things happen but I've never owned a vehicle where the headlights are constantly going out. The first 3 times that the headlights went out, the dealership replaced them. I replaced them this last time .
I don't believe it's the headlights as much as I feel that it has something to do with the car. They went out last night as I got into the car at night and when I switched on the lights, they flashed and went out. The high beams still work but the lows do not.
I noticed tonight that my low beams are both out, and they were both working yesterday. Fuse #19, a 40A in a cluster of two 30A fuses appears fine when I look at it AND my horn and backup lights work just fine too. In the owner's manual it say that fuse position #19 controls the low beams and the horn (which is working) and the backup lights. SO, that says to me the fuse is ok because the other items are working.
FWIW, I can use the high beams, but recognize they're on a different fuse anyway. Also, I replaced BOTH headlamps with new Sylvania bulbs about 6 months ago when one of them went out. Could both low beam headlamps have burned out at the same time???? Is there some other fuse that controls them both other than the #19 fuse inside the engine compartment? Could this also be a problem in the control stalk switch on the steering console?
I have a 2011 Prius Three and one thing I have noticed is that the headlights don't last nearly as long as other vehicles I've owned. I drive 104 miles per day round trip, and I do leave my headlights on all the time but that has always been my driving habits. Thus far, I have been through 3 sets of headlamps, mostly low beam. Also low beam seems very weak, always better with the high beams on. Is it normal or might I have an electrical issue.

View 12 RepliesI have a 2011 Hyundai Elantra with 170,000 miles on it. The Navigation display is toast and I am not going to be buying a new one. The car will be out the door when/if it makes it to 250k miles. I want to simply go to eBay and buy a used unit from a totaled Hyundai Elantra and just use that. Connections look the same except there are not jacks for a couple of the plugs that are on the Navigation unit. Those are obviously meant for the navigation display and the back-up camera, which I will lose by going to the regular audio/bluetooth unit. The navigation has always sucked anyway, so I don't care about that. I just want to be sure that the bluetooth and the radio work once I switch them out. I already have the Nav unit uninstalled. The screen is busted on it.

View 11 RepliesI'm about to take delivery of my new 2010 Prius IV. With the winters we get here, in my current car, there are times when I need to shut off VSC to power (read spin) up a hill instead of the car cutting power and leaving me stuck on the side of a hill. I have checked the manual and I do not see a way to shut this feature off. Both my car and the wife's have a button on the dash that shuts off stability control for the short term when needed, like in snow/sand, etc.
View 19 RepliesMy wife's 2010 Prius IV died on the highway at 65 mph; just shut down at speed and would not restart. She had it towed to the dealer and there it's been now for 5 weeks! The tow truck operator was able to drive up on the flat bed using EV, but no engine. Dealer says it's the inverter which has a nationwide backorder and no ETA.
