Prius (2010-12) :: Plugged AC Drain Leaks Into Rear Passenger Floor?
May 11, 2016
I have a 2011 Prius that is collecting water in the rear passenger floor board. I notice that water is no longer leaking from under car when parked after using the A/C. How the drain is routed, or have experienced this?

I just purchased my daughter a used 2006 Prius and we found water in the rear right passenger floor board this morning. We have only had the car 3 days. There are on leaks that I could find inside the car. I looked in the tire well and water was there and also near the 12Volt battery also. The brownish/yellow sealant in the tire well that goes around the bottom is also in my 2010 Prius but I noticed that my daughters 2006 Prius the sealant or what I believe to be bodyflex is cracked. I am going to have a body person look and see if he agrees with me that this bodyflex is cracked.

Just wondering if leaving the USB plugged in with the car is off drains the battery at all? Should I unplug it when I shut the car off or is it ok to just leave it plugged in?

I am getting water on the passenger-side floor. I would like to clean the AC drain tube but am not sure how to access it.

A couple of days ago, my wife noticed that the floor mat on the rear passenger side of her car was sopping wet. She thought perhaps a water bottle must have spilled or leaked, so she soaked up the water and dried out the mat. Today, the mat was wet again with about an inch of water accumulating only on the passenger side of the rear floor.
We have had no significant rain for more than two weeks; in fact, it's been sunny and hot with temps in the 90s. There is no water on the front floor or the rear driver's side floor. Due to the heat, we have run the AC, but it is working fine with no apparent leaks. There is no apparent leaking in the trunk or underneath the car. There are no apparent leaks from the radiator or hoses. Everything is working fine, except for the water on the rear passenger side floor. We can't figure out the source of the water.
The car is a 2006 4-door Toyota Camry LE with 199K miles on it.

My friend parked his 99 Passat 1.8T manual for a long time. Came back, car flooded inside (I am pretty sure the drain under the battery was plugged). He installed new battery. Not starting (starter not kicking in). I drove out with a spare ECU (same part number). No go.
Ran VAGcom scan (with my ECU in), only 2 engine codes (I did NOT scan with the original ECU installed; it was freezing cold in the parking lot).
2 Faults Found:
18010 - Power Supply Terminal 30
P1602 - 35-10 - Voltage too Low - Intermittent
16502 - Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor (G62)
P0118 - 35-10 - Signal too High - Intermittent
Readiness: 0110 0101
a) Immo should not be an issue in those years (only code is the radio code IIRC when disconnecting battery). He has an aftermarket radio
b) Softcode of my ECU is 06201. Does the Passat need a different softcode?
c) Aside from ECU, what other parts can prevent the starter from turning and may be harmed by the 'flood'? Relays, fuses, etc?

I recently purchased a used 2010 Prius. I noticed that there are two holes on the floor in front of the passenger seat.

In the winter the front passenger floor get colder than the rest of the car. Only way to keep feet warm is to take off shoes and wrap fleece blanket around the feet.

I have something really strange that has happened to me... two days ago I noticed a small puddle of water in the back off my Prius on the floor behind the passenger seat. There is absolutely no water anyway else..I've thoroughly searched. I dried it up as much as I can but it seems to continue to get wet - not to the extent it was the first time I saw it, but when I press down with my hand I can hear water in the carpet. I've used a wet vac to suck up as much as I can... but I come back and it is still wet again.... What could be leaking... again.. absolutely nothing else is wet.. and nothing could have spilled that would have produced that much water.

I purchased a 2002 Dakota and have had a hard time ridding it. I thought that the heater core was leaking and getting the passenger side floor wet, but it's the overflow for the evaporator under the dash. The drain must be plugged. Will I have to remove the dash to pull the heater unit down far enough to clean it. I don't think I can do much from under the hood...too tight.

I noticed last night that my phone wasn't charging when plugged into the port under the dash. I tried the port in the arm rest and it too wasn't supplying power. The USB port did charge, however; so it's a limited issue, but one that will require a service call. My Prius is only two months old...

Had the plastic under belly off my car to install the HPA puck, and I noticed a coating of oil on the oil pan around the rear passenger side as well as at the drain plug. The car is getting a new pan and plug under warranty, just wanted to give everyone a heads up. My car is lowered, but i have never bottomed it out. As long as your are under warranty its worth taking a look at. You might as well get the passat subframe bolts to get rid of the subframe clunking at the same time.

So our Passat seems to have developed a leak from somewhere. Even while parked, water seems to pool on the rear passenger floor. The passenger front and driver's side front and rear are both dry. Does this sound like it could possibly be one of the sunroof drains being clogged? Only reason I'm skeptical is because the front floor is perfectly dry. I haven't pulled it up yet, but the rear floor is literally "squishy" with water.
Again this happens when the car is parked, so it doesn't seem like it has anything to do with the AC system. I'm unsure about the cabin air filter, because if that were the culprit I would think the front would be wet too.

I've had a wet passenger side rear floor in my Accord for the past year now when I run the A/C. Two mechanics including a Honda dealership have told me the A/C drain is not plugged. One of them ran compressed air through the drain and it seemed to be better for about a week and then started again. How to investigate the matter further. The floor does not smell like coolant. It just feels like and smells like water.

Just purchased a 2014 Elantra Limited in August 2014. Two months later, I started having a slow leak in my right rear tire. Was manageable at first, just thought maybe it was the weather getting colder, but finally had to take it in for service and had it looked at. They said I had a nail in the INSIDE SIDEWALL, and it was not covered under warranty, so I had to buy a new tire.
Within a month of buying the first new tire, my right FRONT tire started doing the same thing. Now, I'm having to fill it every day. Just scheduled another service appointment to have it looked at.

We have a 2010 Prius Type 5 with about 18K miles. I've noticed at times that after having parked the car in the garage for several hours, that there is a soft "whirring" sound on the passenger side rear of the car. I'm assuming this is the battery fan, because it sounds like a fan and I can't think of anything else back there that would make a "fan"-like sound? Is there any other device back there that could make a "fan"-like sound while parked (it's cold weather here, so it's probably around 40 deg. F or less in the garage)? It makes this noise for 5-10 min. and then stops. If this is the battery fan, why would it run when the car is cold?

I found water in the floor in the front and rear passenger side of the car. I cleaned it up thinking the sunroof may not have been closed all the way at the dealership when they washed it. I drove it today in the rain and the front passenger side is wet again next to the console and near the seat. Where are the drains located at?

My husband has water on the rear floor board on the passenger side of the car when it rains. This happens if we drive or park the car during a heavy rain.

I seem to be getting a creaking noise (the same sound you get when you lean on the armrest) coming from the passenger side rear. It sounds like it is coming from the hatch, but I can't quite narrow it down. The creaking noise appears when I drive slowly over bumps.

My passsenger side rear wheel hub assembly needs replacing and I am having trouble removing it. I have removed the rotor, the 4 bolts holding the hub, applied generous amounts of pb blaster, and struck it vigorously with a 3 pound hammer. Also, how to release the abs connection.
