I've found in manual and also on this great forum that the headlights should switch off in 30 sec (in Europe's manual default stated is 60) after switching off and leaving the car. My main lights go off immediately after powering off, but parking lights stay on and never go off. Need to confirm that it should switch all lights off?
View 19 RepliesI have a 2002 f250 SD v10 4x4. I had a ground wire break fixed that know noon of my instruments work. Dash lights up but nothing moves. Pulse my parking lights stay on when the truck is shut off or when I turn lights on then off. I have to disconnect the battery to get hem to shut off.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2013 elantra limited with the tech package. Today I discovered that my parking lights or headlamps stay on after the car is turned off and the vehicle is armed. The interior blue lighting ( gear selection, push start ignition button, a/c selections, Eco button etc. ) stays on as well. I checked the fuses, but couldn't find anything that pertains to the parking lamps.
I usually run my lights in the drl or headlights position as I lost the auto feature when I installed my H.I.D's. And they usually shut off after a good 15 seconds.
I installed a powered compact subwoofer today and initially wired it to the same battery terminal as the H.I.D.'s but now have switched to another terminal.
LS460 L ... Re-wiring fog lights to come on with only parking lights? How did you do it. Do fog lights also stay on now with brights?

I have my headlights on, I turn off my car and leave the switch in the on position and then when I open my door the lights are supposed to go out and stay out. However, for some reason my parking lights remain on when I open my door. I'm not sure if this is after I set the alarm or before. I've already replaced the tail light relay but that didn't seem to fix it.
View 11 RepliesNoticed this evening that my parking lights were on in my '01 Elantra. Car has been sitting since Friday evening in my garage. The lights were not on earlier today.
The car did start right up when I turned it on. Went inside to research and an hour later the lights are off again.
I had this happen to me the other day and as it is outside of the usual for most cars, I thought I would mention it as it could lead to dead batteries if one doesnt pay attention to it.
If you turn off the Touareg with the directional blinker engaged, the parking lights on the side that the blinker was indicating will stay on after the car is turned off. The MFI iwill display PArking Lights ON.
When it first happened to me I started playing with the headlight switch to turn off the parking lights to no avail. I then cam to realize that it was the blinker that needed to be centered to turn them off.
I have a 2010 blizzard pearl prius 4 and i just got it pre owned with only 39k miles about 2 months ago. I didn't notice this until just now but the first position on the headlight switch does not do anything...its supposed to turn on the little parking light up front and the parking light in the rear as well as the license plate light and the instrument panel lights. Mine does not do any of that until i switch the headlight on all the way. This tells me that my lights are not burned out but that there is a problem with the switch/stalk.
View 3 RepliesI had a question regarding the little lights that are above (I am assuming these are either daytime driving lights or parking lights) the fog lights. Is there anyway to keep these on all the time, or to turn them on/off with a switch? Reason I am asking is the Prius I am looking to buy does not come with fog lights and I notice the light above where the foglight would be is orange. Comparing that to Sylvania's lamp replacement guide for a 2011 prius, I assume that is what they refer to as the "parking light" (The turn signals have a different bulb). I was hoping I could replace that bulb with a clear bulb (instead of orange) and then keep it on all the time with my headlights on/off just to provide a little more light (even if it is negligible).
View 3 RepliesI have 2007 Sonata GLS and have noticed on several (at least 6) occasions that the parking lights (front turn signal lamps and tail lights) as well as the instrument lights will stay on after turning off the car, removing key and locking it. Usually I flip the switch a few times and they'll go off and stay off. Today wasn't so easy. I'm guessing it's the switch but wanted to know if this is isolated case or more common before I take to Hyundai. The problem can't be "duplicated" when you want it to happen. Usually it's on colder mornings when coming to work.
View 18 RepliesIve got a '14 Pip, no new mods all my mods are atlas 6 months old. When I turn on my headlights at night and make sure the dimmer switch, by the fuel tank button, inside the cabin, is dimmed, the headlights work, the front parking lights work, the brake lights work ( WHEN I STEP ON THE PEDAL), but they don't turn on when I just have the parking lights on with out braking. So, to clarify, the parking lights (the two strip that are used as brake lights (led)) they don't turn on. what could it be? Some fuse? I made sure to cycle the column stalk switch a few times, and the dimmer switch a few times. Could removing and reattaching battery fix it? Should I take it to the dealer (~85k miles).
View 17 RepliesI have a 2010 prius. I bought the car used a month ago. at the time of purchase both parking lights were on when my headlight is turned on. Now it won't turn on unless I turn on my high beam. Should I take it to Toyota dealer and have them take a look at it. It is certified preowned.
View 4 RepliesI just did the tail light with fog and I am trying to get the city lights to work, I did the whole pin 3 on the euro switch to pin 19 on the black connector and it hasn't worked, i got the rear fog to work without using VCDS, but when i try to get my parking lights, they flicker and then shut off. I saw a guide for tapping into the side markers, but I am sure there's a more legitimate way, at least I hope.
View 6 RepliesI have installed Precision premium LED parking lights (which are the little bulbs right above the headlights) in the place of the standard bulbs which from the factory are 194's. The LED lights occasionally turn off individually or sometimes just one side will go out, but if I turn my lights off and on again they both come back on. Why this is happening or any solutions to fix it? Is it the Bulbs or what because I thought LED draws less power than a standard bulb?

My parking lights do not turn off when the car is shut off and lights are either manually turned off or if the auto function is used. I understand that it is the drivers side fuse box that has a relay built into it that controls the on/off function of the parking lights. I do not see anywhere that I can buy the fuse box. The local dealer wants me to pay for diagnostics before going any further.
View 1 RepliesToday I took my 2006 Toyota Prius with 167,000 miles out to drive my dog to the vet. I turned the car on and deactivated the parking break and noticed the light stayed on, then I noticed the VSC and ABS lights stayed on as well.
My car was parked backwards on a driveway incline for about 14 hours. My 12v battery is old, not sure what shape it is in. The hybrid battery was replaced 2 years ago. I have been reading up and i guess it could be a sensor, skid sensor, 12v battery, or some sort of pump. Also, my parking break has felt a little weak as of late.
The car still drives, not sure if it drives funny or psychologically I think it does.
Late last night as I was puling up to park in front of a dark restaurant, I turned off my headlights so I would not blind the people inside. This is a 2010 Prius III.
When I left and tried to turn them back on, only the drivers side parking light (the small white one above the headlight) and side marker light worked. Passenger side nothing works, however on both sides the high beams do work.
Is there anyway to get the outside lights to stay on for 30s or so when pressing the power button to turn the car off?
I've checked in the personalized settings and the owners manual which does mention something about exterior lights staying on for 30s or so. However, I have all the settings on and it still doesn't work. Is there something I am missing?
The auto delay feature has begun to fail. Sometimes the parking lights stay on for at least an hour. Sometimes they stay on even after pressing the remote lock 2x and hear the chirp. So far have caught this prior to dead battery situation.
View 3 RepliesSuddenly all these lights came on in a 2012 Elantra . Had at the dealer and they checked wheel speed sensors, wiring to sensors and said all those are ok and the abs module is bad. I replaced the module, bled the brakes and the exact same lights are still on with the same codes coming up. Tech is confused as I am.
