I have a 2010 prius. I bought the car used a month ago. at the time of purchase both parking lights were on when my headlight is turned on. Now it won't turn on unless I turn on my high beam. Should I take it to Toyota dealer and have them take a look at it. It is certified preowned.

View 7 RepliesYesterday, I went through my car doing a complete LED conversion. I got everything done. And then I replaced my high beams with Silverstar Ultras. I didn't touch my fog lights or my low beams (these will come next.) And then I went and got some wings with the boys, showing off my new LEDs and my bright high beams. We noticed that my fog lights turn off when my high beams were activated. A cool point I never knew about, but, it is extremely relevant in this story.
This morning I went to work, and noticed that my fog lights were not working. So after work, I came home and tried everything to get them working, check fuse in car, and tried every combination of light to activate them. Then I checked the fuse box under the hood, I hadn't actually ever looked in there before. When I did, I noted that the 10amp fuse, Fog R/R was missing... MISSING. I took the spare from the cover and put it in, and bam, fog lights work again.
We were driving 2015 450h with 2200 miles on a slight downhill grade about 50 mph. Suddenly ABS warning light, master warning light, and audible warning activated. The center console "Brake" illuminated and the information center displayed "check hybrid system".
My wife attempted to pull the car off the road in a controlled manner but even slightly touching the brakes caused them to pulse, braking hard and then releasing. She finally got the car to the side of the road and shut the engine off. I then got into the drivers seat and turned the car on. The messages remained. Tried on an off, still the same. Tried brakes, the seemed functional. Since we were in a location that did not have cell service and it was an unsafe location to leave the car managed to drive it into nearest town.
Turned the car on and off about 10 times over the period of an hour. Without explanation, the car started with no warning messages. Dove the car another 200 miles since and it has now been at he dealer for over a day with no word.
I did see where a few RX350 models had reported a similar problem, but no 450h's. At the time of the incident we were not using the PCS system (off) . I am wondering about that as well since the ABS might be tied into the PCS?
I have a 2000 legacy wagon (245k miles) that has a light issue. The running lights and low beam lights do not work and the dash parking break light will not go out. Earlier I had just the low beams not working. They were both blown and I replaced them about two weeks ago. Now they are out again and the dash parking break light stays on. I checked the fuzes and they look good.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2010 blizzard pearl prius 4 and i just got it pre owned with only 39k miles about 2 months ago. I didn't notice this until just now but the first position on the headlight switch does not do anything...its supposed to turn on the little parking light up front and the parking light in the rear as well as the license plate light and the instrument panel lights. Mine does not do any of that until i switch the headlight on all the way. This tells me that my lights are not burned out but that there is a problem with the switch/stalk.
View 3 RepliesI had a question regarding the little lights that are above (I am assuming these are either daytime driving lights or parking lights) the fog lights. Is there anyway to keep these on all the time, or to turn them on/off with a switch? Reason I am asking is the Prius I am looking to buy does not come with fog lights and I notice the light above where the foglight would be is orange. Comparing that to Sylvania's lamp replacement guide for a 2011 prius, I assume that is what they refer to as the "parking light" (The turn signals have a different bulb). I was hoping I could replace that bulb with a clear bulb (instead of orange) and then keep it on all the time with my headlights on/off just to provide a little more light (even if it is negligible).
View 3 RepliesIve got a '14 Pip, no new mods all my mods are atlas 6 months old. When I turn on my headlights at night and make sure the dimmer switch, by the fuel tank button, inside the cabin, is dimmed, the headlights work, the front parking lights work, the brake lights work ( WHEN I STEP ON THE PEDAL), but they don't turn on when I just have the parking lights on with out braking. So, to clarify, the parking lights (the two strip that are used as brake lights (led)) they don't turn on. what could it be? Some fuse? I made sure to cycle the column stalk switch a few times, and the dimmer switch a few times. Could removing and reattaching battery fix it? Should I take it to the dealer (~85k miles).
View 17 RepliesI've found in manual and also on this great forum that the headlights should switch off in 30 sec (in Europe's manual default stated is 60) after switching off and leaving the car. My main lights go off immediately after powering off, but parking lights stay on and never go off. Need to confirm that it should switch all lights off?

View 3 RepliesI have installed Precision premium LED parking lights (which are the little bulbs right above the headlights) in the place of the standard bulbs which from the factory are 194's. The LED lights occasionally turn off individually or sometimes just one side will go out, but if I turn my lights off and on again they both come back on. Why this is happening or any solutions to fix it? Is it the Bulbs or what because I thought LED draws less power than a standard bulb?
View 1 RepliesLast week my wife's battery in her 03 Trailblazer was dead in the morning. I jumped it and it seemed fine all day. That night I tried to start it and it was dead again so I replaced the battery. The next day, she looked out at the parking lot at work and her lights were on after it sat for a while. She could not turn off the headlights no matter what. She said she heard a squealing noise under the hood.
I could not duplicate it when I got home, so I replaced what I think was the lowbeam relay. Later that night I looked, and her headlights were on. I got under the hood and the highbeam relay was squealing. I removed it and the lights went out. I replaced the relay with a new one, but the relay immediately squealed and the lights went on. I have the relay out now and the problem is gone, but we have no highbeams.
What is causing the relay to squeal and turn on the highbeams?
I have 2012 Prius that developed weird issue with turn signal. Every time turn signal is activated both front turn signals flashes and both rear turn signals flashes but one is very dimmed so I haven't noticed it is on until I pulled the bulb out.
So far, I took it to dealership and they replaced headlight switch which resulted in no change in condition. They also pin check wiring from switches to control modules, ohm tested ok. Since I am out of warranty they don't want to do anything unless I agree with extended diagnostics of 10+ hours of labor.
I am going to get some equipment (multimeter, scope) and do some voltage measurement to try to figure out what is going on. I don't know where the flasher and relays are located on Prius. Also looking for vschematic of the circuit to troubleshoot.
I have a '12, F150. Is there a fix to keep the fog lights on while on high beam?

1. Key fob -- keyless entry and alarm stopped working
2. high beam doesn't come on when headlight is on. However, when headlight is off, it comes on--go figure
3. Power door lock also does not work, even from driver side door. Have to lock all doors manually
4. Interior lights don't come on when door is open.
My 1996 jeep cherokee is having a problem with the lights when I pull the plunger switch my dashboard blinker lights and high beam light come on but none of my outside lights come on besides my tail lights.

View 14 RepliesSo I recently bought a 1997 7.3l F250. It is in fairly good condition, but it has some problems with the lights working. The turn signals and hazards all work, as do the tail lights and headlights. However, when I hit the high beam switch, the headlights cut off entirely. Also, the brake lights do not work at all. Ive checked the bulbs and since they all work Im not sure what the issue is.
View 3 RepliesAll you need to do is pull out the head lite switch find the solid brown wire that is the running lights wire now find the yellow wire this is fog lights wire (these wires are on the gray plug ) you need a 3" piece of wire and 2 blue wire connectors it slips over the wires no cutting any wires then slide wire in the other end of the blue connector after you jump them your fog lights will come on with running lights and will not go off with high beams...
