My Scangauge is mounted on the dash just above the steering wheel. My last car, a Subaru Impreza had lots of room on the steering column. On the 2010 Prius it's very difficult to see when mounted there.
Cold weather is setting in and the glue on the velcro is starting to give out and the Gauge will soon fall. Where are you mounting them? How are you getting them to stick?
I have a 2005 prius and I got a scanguage to read the codes. I have two lights on my dash. One is the check engine and the other is the (O) light. I think this is something to do with the regen braking. Anyways when I run the scanguage it says no codes found. What type of scanner would be able to pull up all prius codes?

View 13 RepliesI have observed that the very top of HSI Eco Bar (100%) is 25 hp when you increase throttle from less than 100% up to 100%
If you bring the throttle down to 100%, from when you were in maxed in the power band (so this is going from 125% down to 100%), then the power reported is 30 hp. I have sustained this for a few seconds and repeated to make sure.
Not long after I got the Prius, there's a rattle in the console mounted into the head liner. If I press on it, the rattle shifts. Sounds like the wire that feeds power to the lights is probably smacking against the roof of the car.
View 3 RepliesMy Dad has a 2006 F550 Lariat with the grey leather seats, and the drivers seat is starting to fall apart. So my Dad is wanting to replace it. My Dad thinks its from a lot of sliding in and out, and having all kinds of dirt and other stuff on it. It has a big spot torn in the lower left of it and then the armrest is starting to rip as well.
So I was wondering where a good place to get some replacement seats for it was. Definitely leather and grey to match the rear seats since its a crew cab. I don't think it necessarily has to be stock, but something that looks good and still at least somewhat matches the rear and rest of the interior.
Here's some pictures of the seat. Nice hole in the floor mat too. I think some nice plastic ones would work and look much better.
Where do you plug Scangauge II inside the Prius?
How do you mount it? On the window or on the dash, and can you buy the mount or does it come with one?
When I use the "scan" feature of my Scangauge II, sometimes the DTC code and/or freeze frame data will change on me. That is, I check it and it says "1 stored code" (without clearing it), then go back to "Gauge" and then check the scanning function again, sometimes the code has changed to something else! With the freeze frame data, sometimes it will even change as I'm scrolling through the different data fields. Very disconcerting....
View 3 RepliesI made three ten mile trips this evening. On the first trip the "engine" light came on. This is the first time I have seen this light (2004 @ 134,000 miles). ScanGauge reports diagnostic code P0505. The "engine" light remained on through all three trips. Also, I was not able to get the ICE to shut down and run only on battery at all, even though the battery was on the upper level of charge and the engine was warm. There were long stretches where I normally run on battery at around 35 mph. I'm supposing there is a connection.
View 19 RepliesI was successfully able to install my Prius backup camera, but a few hours later I found that I could not shift out park. I was getting code U0293 on my scangauge. I can push the override button next to the shifter to shift out of park, but I can't figure out whats going on.
View 6 RepliesI occasionally drill-down to check on pending codes, and my 2007 Prius likes to generate a LOT of them. Maybe pending codes don't count unless they escalate to an active code that triggers the check engine light.

I broke the wires to it - yet see no evidence that any system ceased to work as a result. I want to make sure it isn't something critical.

View 12 RepliesI got my TSB done for dashboard rattling for the passenger side of vehicle but my rattle still exist, especially when I turn on my JBL system.
So my question is could the problem be my speakers as well? I never like bass or treble so they are on zero when I play my favorite songs, but that rattling on the speakers area in dashboard is driving me nuts, I turn off the music and that rattle sound will cease to exist.
I am having problems with squeaks and other noises from the dash. The dealer sprayed some foam on the dash board (underside of it) to quiet the noises. It didn't work. The repair order says he sprayed the air bag cover. I'm not an expert on air bags but would this effect the function of the bag?

View 13 RepliesIn the dashboard settings, I set the miles to my previous vehicle. When I turn the vehicle off, it shows fuel cost. I could have swore that one of the vehicles we test drove showed an amount saved instead of pure cost, but for the life of me I can't locate this setting anywhere.
