View 7 RepliesThe car beeped at me when I tried to lock it. Initially, I thought I forgot to turn it off. But no, it said "keys detected inside". Not so, as the key was in my pocket outside when I tried to lock it and the other key was 10 miles away at home.
View 2 RepliesI got this message today, twice as I was pulling out of the driveway but it went away both times. After the 1st I stopped and pulled the key out of my purse. It came back on a 3rd time and right as I was trying to determine if it was significant enough to pullover when the hood flew up and hit the windshield. The hood was closed and there were no other messages.
View 6 RepliesI've had this happen twice now. I got my gen3 in October 09' and lately the car has said the key wasn't present though it was sitting on the passenger seat. I had to put the fob up to the start button just to get my car started.
View 9 RepliesAfter last maintenance at dealer where I got my Prius. I get two or three times of "Key not Detected" message per week when I try to start the car. I have to push start button several times for the car to detect key and start up properly. However, I don't have issue to unlock door by placing hand on the sensor and enter driver's seat. Where to start? I thought it was battery issue, but that wouldn't explain why I don't have any issue unlocking the driver door by placing hand on the sensor, which I always do before I push the start button.
View 4 RepliesWent to start the car up this morning - foot on brake and pressed the Power button. The car went through its checks but when it finished the 'Welcome to Prius' graphic it did a continuous beeep and displayed 'Check Hybrid System' and didn't start.
I turned it off and tried again and on the third or fourth attempt the car eventually fired up, the error message was gone and there were no warning lights on the dash. The car did smell like it was running rich though.
I turned it off and called the dealers. They said if no warning lights are now on it should be ok to drive the 6 miles to see them and they'll check it on their computer. As I drove to see them the car was running OK but the fuel economy was shocking. I was getting about 40 mpg UK (30 US mpg) as a trip average.
My Samsung Galaxy s4 works sporadically with my Bluetooth in my 2013 Elantra Limited. At times it says"device not available " when Bluetooth is turned on my phone. Sometimes it says "contacts are not downloaded & phone not connected ". Other times it works fine. When I told service, they said it's working fine. I get the car home & it's not working fine.
View 4 RepliesI got this message on the information display when I turned off the car after an hour of drive. I'm guessing it refers to the key getting low on battery but why only after 2 months.
View 7 RepliesLately my smart key start acting wearied. while car is running i get sign of key is not detected, And today i was not even able to open 2010 Gen 3 with smart key and car wont start. After 15 min it start detecting and car got started. Key battery is new but i just recently added another smart key with prius smart key. View 8 RepliesI went to the dealership today with my '05 displaying a master light ( big red triangle) and "problem " posted on the screen with the green "hybrid system problem" box displaying.
The Prius guy had the car plugged into the computer for over 3 hours. It spat out a page and a half of codes, and then after a time distilled the codes to 4 things: a bad hybrid fan motor, the relay, a blower motor controller, and a bad aux battery. The problem is I replaced the aux battery a year ago. So it makes me doubt the entire diagnosis.
I don't understand what this message means. I drove my 2005 Prius to the Emissions Testing station (CO) and they said the OBD wasn't "READY".
The CEL goes on and off 4 times a year. It stays on for months, then goes off. The dealership said to ignore it as they couldn't locate the issue.
I was driving my plug-in yesterday on the freeway and suddenly it alerted me the following:
Check Hybrid System
Stop the vehicle in a safe place
I pulled over to the side and tried to reset the message (push power button 3x), but message still was coming up. With my Toyota dealership not too far away, decided to bring in my car to have it checked out.
After 2 hours with their hybrid tech, they were not able to replicate the message (of course, always the case), but the tech was able to catch a P0C3E error from their diag tool. Being that they could not replicate the issue, they released my car and started to bring it back it the issue persist.
I had a Samsung Galaxy s4 that gave me the message tethering detected and then the only way to get my phone to connect via bluetooth again was to delete the phone from the car and reestablish the connection which only worked until the signal popped up again. I called US Cellular and they thought it was the phone so I chose to get a refurbished s4 over having work done on my phone. I had that phone hooked up and working well for about 1 month and now the second phone is doing it.
The message last popped up while I was in my office across the street from the Prius. I'm guessing it's either a s4 issue or a US Cellular issue being it happens in and out of the car, but US Cellular is convinced it's my car. I'm thinking about switching to an iPhone because this is only one of the many things I hate about Samsung galaxies.
The oil was changed by a highly reputable shop 2 days ago, (45 miles ago). My wife noticed today that the "Low Oil Pressure" red message flashed 3 times in the last 5 miles of her 10 mile trip (45-50 mph). She stopped the car and called me. I arrived at the parked Prius and saw no oil on the dipstick. I poured a quart of synthetic in and looked under the car to see it pouring out. My finger discovered that there was No Oil Plug. I called the shop and they sent a tow truck, put a new oil plug in, refilled the oil and claim no damage since "the Prius shuts off the gas engine when low oil pressure is sensed". Looking for information about this "shut off feature?" What should I ask from the shop? What should be tested & checked for? How do you test for damage to the bearings? How about a compression test? The car has 100K miles.
View 19 RepliesThere have been a couple of incidents where the key fob has not been detected by the car, even though it is in the car. When it did this, I also noted the unlock button on the fob didn't work. It only does it a couple of times then all of a sudden it seems to work. There is no message for a low battery (it's not that old).
View 9 RepliesI've had the Dension Ice Link plus for my iPod for about a year and a half and it has worked flawlessly. Two days ago, though, the radio now reads that there is "no CD player" when I try to use it. I called Dension support and after a few other diagnostic procedures, the tech asks me to reset the radio by pulling the fuse. I wait a couple minutes with the fuse out and every single wire detached from the radio. When I reconnect, the radio is not reset. So I try again, this time for over 1/2 hour; still no reset.
View 8 RepliesMy key fob works at a distance to lock the car. Inside it is not recognized. Changed battery recently?
View 8 RepliesSometimes when I startup I get the message "Air Conditioner Off". This has only been happening for the past few weeks and never before. I wonder why now and not before. Have 22,600 miles.
View 4 RepliesAlright way to kick off the new year. I drove my car to and from work today... no issues. I get ready to leave to hang out with friends, turn the car on, and the message "Exhaust Workshop!" comes up. It then goes away, but the CEL stays on.
View 13 RepliesThis morning I switched my radio from my favorite FM news station to Siriusxm in the middle of my commute, and I got the message "Initializing" on the screen. I was getting the last station I had selected, but I couldn't turn the volume up or switch stations. FM/AM/Media all work just fine. I turned the radio off, turned the car off, no luck.
View 6 RepliesWhen I park my car and shift the selector into "P" the car will not allow me to remove the key until I jiggle the selector. I get a "please shift the selector into P"
After it's jiggled it unlocks, and I can then remove the key. I would prefer to fix it myself, rather than take it to the dealership.
