So I washed the car. All four stems had caps on them. I decide to check the pressure, a few hours after the wash. Took the stem caps off, and they all looked dry inside. The inside of the valve stems did not look wet at all. Pressed my tire gauge onto the stem out came water. From all four of them.
View 7 RepliesThere's 2 small drips of dried water (and maybe soap) inside the upper half of my headlight on the glass. I first noticed this after I washed my car very thoroughly this weekend (I was spraying water on it for a long time). I suspect water/soap might have seeped through during the wash.
I know this is not supposed to happen, but is it a legitimate cause of concern? I'm thinking of letting this fly by, I can live with it, but perhaps not if it keeps happening every time I wash my car. Is it safe to wait on a trip to the dealership, or should I get it checked out right away?
BTW, I'm @ 30k miles
A little over a year I had my rear outer wheels replaced due to corrosion under the clear coat around the valve stems, 15K miles

I took my Prius Two to its first car wash today, afterwards, the air flow from the vents became minimal, almost non-existent. How could this be? The car is barely two months old. Prior to the car wash, I had the AC and air blasting to the highest, I didn't change any fan settings, and now there's barely any air coming out. I can hear the fans churning and running, but there's no air!!! Do I take it to the dealer?

View 10 RepliesHaving issues with the brakes locking to the rotors after washing the vehicle? I washed it on Saturday afternoon, pulled it back into the garage and it sat there until Monday morning.
I back the vehicle into the garage, always. I started it up, put it in D and usually it will want to lurch forward if I don't hold the brakes firmly. Not today. I could not get the thing to budge. I sat there for a few seconds to make sure the parking brake was not on. It was not, as I never use that. My garage floor is the slippery concrete, plus with the tire shine that I applied, the wheels were just spinning.
After I managed to get the vehicle halfway out, I put it in reverse...that worked no problem. I put it back in drive and had no issues after that. Do I need to have the vehicle looked at? It only has 5,400 miles, and it was just in last week for the 5K mile service.
Removing the black cap on the EGR valve and accessing the shaft inside? I remove it but now when I'm fitting it back it doesn't seat properly and it pushes the shaft slightly in and the car rattle like hell, what I'm missing?

View 1 RepliesSo I obviously checked the fluid levels and added plenty to make sure its not empty.. I don't know if there is some issue with a pump that needs to be warmed up first, or some ice buildup on the nozzles (obviously I didn't see any).
After driving for about 20 minutes it started spraying just fine. Although it doesn't seem to spray very well in the rear window. I'm wondering if it is just the cold temperatures (was around 0-5 at night) or if there is another issue.
I see black particles inside the car whenever i drive, i don't know if this is coming thru vent or from outside, or something gets burnt inside which is throwing this . I don't smell anything burning.

This should be a vent condition and air should be coming in from the outside even if the air outside is 50 degrees and the system was set at 70 when it was last on? The system seems to be heating this air. If I turn the system on and reset the temp lower, then turn the system off the air comes out cooler? Why is this?
View 5 RepliesI have a pip which is about 2 months old and has around 6056 miles on it. I had a 2010 prius hatch before this drove it 186000 miles with out even needing to change the brakes and it didn't have any of the following symptoms.
ever since i drove the pip off the lot i have been noticing allot of creaking in the plastics inside the car and squeaking the cup holder and the dash it all got worse once i installed trd lowering springs i now this is happening due to road vibrations but should i take it to toyota and tell them that it feels like all the plastic pieces are lose inside the car and broken.
Second owner of my 2010 IV and I see where there's a few dried up drips on the inside of my radio display (stock non-GPS unit) and while it's not the kind of thing that keeps me up at night, if others have had this too and found an easy way to address it, I will too.
View 4 RepliesTook my car to one of those no-touch car washes and after I pulled out the sat radio would come in and out but would not come in clear. I switched to FM and it was full of static. I parked the car in our garage and about 30 minutes later I checked it again and it was working.
View 6 RepliesHave read threads on car wash issues but have only had the dreaded red triangle flash with no problems as a result. Tuesday, however, got ALL the lights on and now car will not go past warm up phase and only goes in neutral or park. Lights come on, clock reads correct time, and radio works. Tried a jump to aux battery, a reset of the main hybrid battery and finally had my baby towed to the local dealer. 2 days later they are telling me the transmission needs to be replaced. They say I have an irreparable short in the transmission and the replacement is $5000. With no issues with transmission and only two bars magenta in color on the battery level showing is this a transmission issue or a battery issue. Can't say I have had great luck with the local dealer on previous maintenance so my confidence is not high. Love my girl but unsure whether the car is worth this repair at 8 years old and 183,000 on the odometer.
