I am working on my 2010 Prius, and needing to replace the front right fender. I have the collision manual, however, it does not shown completely what all must come off to remove the fender. I've removed the obvious 4 bolts, etc. Specifically
(a) what all must be removed to take off the fender, and
(b) are there any fender bolts that are concealed or out of plain view?
I have a 2010 Toyota Prius. I have had it for a little over a year. A couple weeks ago I noticed that the paint on the front fender had "bubbled up" in a strip approximately 8 inches long. It felt like the fender was cracked underneath it. I took the car in to the dealership. Their service department took off the fender and said that it was warped, not broken. They said it was due to some kind of heat damage that it had been exposed to. Of course, they said it wasn't due to any malfunctioning of the car. They say the car must have been "exposed" to some kind of heat source. In other words, it is all my fault and they are not going to fix it under the warranty! I have not exposed it to any kind of heat, except sun light!

View 1 RepliesThinking about pulling the trigger on the clear ones while my car is in the body shop, I would be broke for two days, but if its a hassle i would rather order it now and have the body shop do it.. if its easy ill just wait till next pay period and do them myself..
View 9 RepliesI bought the car yesterday as certified used, but today I noticed some tiny scratches on the rear fender. It looks like it was scratched before, and the bumper is repainted, but not the fender. I can hardly see the scratches nor do I care too much about it, but I am going to take the car to GEICO for photo inspection, and I worry if they will deny coverage if someone hits this part of the car.
The first photo is just down to a bit of white primer, the second photo shows a deeper scratch at the corner but I am not sure if it is deep to primer or metal. This may be just a small touch-up job without taking it off. Anyway I will take the car to a shop for an estimation before I go for GEICO's inspection.
I noticed the seam between the body and the bumper/fender part on my Prius was gaping ever so slightly today. It looks like there are a few light scratches, so maybe someone lightly bumped me? I tried pushing it in and up in case a clip wasn't catching, but I can't get it to completely close. I know it's a minute thing, but now that I've noticed, it bothers me.
View 17 RepliesI've searched high and low, but cannot find a product/way to replace my Front and back emblem on my 2014 RX450H - it's not like the Rx350 where you can paint it black or spray it (because the 450H emblem is under a thick clear plastic). Plus the 450h emblems are a little bigger than the 350 counterpart so you can't just switch it out either.
Again- the 450H has a plastic cover over the actual emblem- it comes in one piece. I would love to change it (smoke/black it out) I can't stand the blue-hue the hybrid cars FORCES you to have.
I bout a 2010 AWD LS460 in July and immediately noticed noises coming from the rear and front. The rear was a loud thud going over certain bumps and the front is making rattling noises. I lowered the windows and went down a rather bumpy block and the car sound like the bottom is falling out. I took it to the dealer and they had it for 2 and 1/2 weeks waiting on the rear air shocks to come in. They gave it back to me and did not address the front. Now the service manager is going away for two weeks and wants me to come back if I still feel the need to have the from done. The master tech stated the front left suspension needs replacing. I feel they are trying to drag this out so they dont have to pay for the repairs. The car has 80K and was bought from Bay Ridge Lexus and is not under CPO.

View 7 RepliesSo I bought a used 2010 Gen 3 with ~26,000 miles on it in July 2013. I started out getting 48-52mpg depending on where I was driving. I live in Raleigh, NC and I did notice a drop in drop in MPG over the winter ranging between 44-48mpg but the mpg never rose again as the months warmed and I averaged 44-46mpg for most of the summer. After changing my tires a few weeks ago I've dropped to about 40mpg regardless of where or how I drive. I bought Pirelli P4 Four Seasons 195 65R15 91T and have them inflated to the levels recommended by Toyota. 35/32 or something like that. Is it the tires or is there some other possible issue?

View 8 RepliesHaving rust issues? I just bought the car and noticed some was touched up with the rear hatch - under the window, right by the seal. Also, right by where the bottom of the door and front fender meet. Looks like it's inside, on the body/frame, not the fender.
I'll probably take it to dealer and hope to have it taken care of. Carfax came back clear so I'm pretty sure no work has been done on it before that would cause this.
I've been looking online to see how often you need to replace the oxygen sensor for the 3rd gen Prius. I can't find anything online. How often you replace these? Would it be around 100,000 miles or more because it's a hybrid? Also how many are there? I've heard there is 2 and some say there's 4.
View 2 RepliesI just recently dropped my car on BC racing coilovers 16k fronk and 14k rear. I am having slight rubbing issues in the Front only. For everyone that's dropped on coils, if you were rubbing what did you do? I currently have my dampening set on 16/32. The rubbing is actually only on my front fender liners. I love the comfort with 16/32 and don't want to turn it up stiffer and I don't want to raise it up too much. I was told to raise it, turn up stiffness or heat up fender liner and push it up or in a bit. Also for the rear since its 2 piece suspension, to raise or lower the rear 1/2 inch would you adjust the height on the BC struts or the BC springs (the one that's sitting in the bucket)? A shop installed mine and I've only owned 1pc rear suspension for my other cars.

View 7 Repliesjust checked my front fender liner(driver and passenger side) and noticed it was cut on the outside between the fender and liner from front of fender to back making a 2" gap above the tire. i bought the car used 2 years ago and never noticed it. i have 20k miles on it. is this a needed part to change? will water damage any items located under this fender lining? i figured they cut it out for an aggressive tire set up and drop???
View 2 RepliesPurchased new SF in April 2014. The noise insulator in the left hand front fender (Fits inside the fender behind the door hinges. Appears to be foam covered in plastic.) is missing. Can be seen If you open your front doors. Fills the cavity from top to bottom.
Dealer has ordered part but is telling me that the front bumper cover and fender will need to be removed to fit.
I would have thought that they would only need to remove the wheel and fender liner to fit. Ten minute job!
Not keen at all on them pulling the fender off.
RHS insulator seems to be a loose fit in the fender cavity and can easily be moved around.
Just as the title states. The thing I'm wondering is how this happened; I haven't hit any hard bumps nor has the right front had any sort of collision. My guess is it started to leak out about 5 days ago which triggered the low washer fluid light and when I went to put more washer fluid in it tonight it just starts dripping (about half second intervals) out of the valence.
View 1 RepliesAlright, yesterday while I am at work, wife calls me up and tells me the Ex is leaking coolant. I got home a little before dark and looked at it. Right behind the front passenger fender well, it appears that either a bolt came out of a bracket, or someone took it off for something and was too lazy to put it on, allowing the metal elbows to swing over and rub on a bracket. So now I have a hole in that elbow, and I need to the excursion for our trip over Christmas leave. Where I might get an elbow to replace that one? Also, need to know the bolt size for that heater hose bracket to keep it from happening again? If I can't find one pretty soon, I will have to JBWeld or something it temporarily to hold us through until after Christmas.
View 6 RepliesI recently purchased 96 Toyota Tacoma 108 K miles. I discovered that it is totally missing all the front fender liners on both sides. Looking for info as to the number of parts needed for each side. No need to include the clips because they are bought by the 10 pack. Maybe how many 10 packs.
