I have a 2010 prius with a misty gray interior. Accidentally when getting out I scuffed the door and on another occasion I scuffed the plastic molding by the gas tank lever.
The scuffs are black marks and they bother me every time I look at them. Is there a way to get them out? I tried rubbing them out with some cleaner on a paper towel but no luck.
I had a couple of trouble spots on the driver side where my shoe caught the trim and left black scuff marks.

View 14 RepliesI bought a Prius persona in 2013 brand-new and in about a year or year and a half later start slowly coming noises from interior plastics and now it's a 2 1/2-year-old car and I have noises from every single plastic that's in the interior. $29,000 car and two years 2 1/2 years after it's just annoying and embarrassing for Toyota. Dealership is refusing to do anything because I'm over 36,000 miles and the warranty that I bought originally with the car is refusing to do anything too. And the dealership wants to charge me per hour just to start and it could take up to the whole day or two days or half a day and it could cost me thousands of dollars on a $29,000 car is two years old, unbelievable.
View 5 RepliesI always have humidity marks on the black portion of my interior door handle area and it seems like the water that gets in the door doesn't flow out completely. It kinda pools at the bottom in between the 3 small holes at the inside bottom of the door. The drain holes are clean but it seems there is a lip the water gets caught on.

I am using the Meguiars Gold Leather spray for the leather which is doing a decent job, but I don't know what's best for the dashboard and the other parts.

View 6 RepliesI am a fairly new 2013 Prius C (Four) owner and I was wondering about cabin noise, specifically plastic clicking and popping. My questions is about, plastic clicking and popping sounds coming from the dash area?
It's hard to pinpoint exactly where but most of the sounds comes from the far left and right corners, close to the window vents where the windshield meets the dash. I do also notice some noise around the middle of the dash as well. This occurs on any type of road condition but is of course aggravated with rougher road surfaces. I don't believe it to be a small piece of plastic bouncing around but more of loose panels or something of that nature but I'm not sure.
H2 weeks ago I bought a new Prius II and after giving my car a new wash this weekend I noticed small water marks on the bottom hatchback window. After trying to wipe them off with a microfiber cloth, they were still there. Then I tried Windex but they didn't go away. The only way I could get the water stains out was to scratch them off with my finger nail.
None of my other windows has this problem.
My umbrella and few other items stowed in prius for some months now has a strong plastic/rubbery prius smell. How do I stop/reduce the smell at the source? There seems to be some discussion on its origin but no mention on how to reduce this.
View 8 RepliesJust got my 2012 Prius. The interior plastic trim squeaks when pressed by hand/knee or during cornering and bumps. I'm talking about the center console and flying bridge thing, door panels, ect. I'm in the process of upgrading speakers and adding limit amounts of sound deadener. I thought about adding silicon grease on the plastic tabs that hold the plastic together....does that sound like a good idea. The main offender is the arm rest console box.

I'm not a mechanic, but upon first inspection and a little tugging it appears that piece can be removed and possibly replaced with a new one? Don't really want to take her door panel off unless I have to (and don't want to waste the time if that piece can't be removed anyway).

View 8 RepliesI have a pip which is about 2 months old and has around 6056 miles on it. I had a 2010 prius hatch before this drove it 186000 miles with out even needing to change the brakes and it didn't have any of the following symptoms.
ever since i drove the pip off the lot i have been noticing allot of creaking in the plastics inside the car and squeaking the cup holder and the dash it all got worse once i installed trd lowering springs i now this is happening due to road vibrations but should i take it to toyota and tell them that it feels like all the plastic pieces are lose inside the car and broken.
How is the red marker light lens, located on either side of the rear bumper, removed to allow the bulb on the inside to be replaced?
View 2 RepliesI took the plastic cover in front of the radiator off to clean the radiator and condenser. It directs air through the condenser before it gets to the radiator and I was wondering if it would cool the engine without it (if you don't need real cold ac air) . Without it the air can go over the top of the condenser and it is still blocked by the flap that stops airflow above the radiator. Also, I am wondering if the fact that the condenser has nothing in it affects the radiator cooling, and is it bad for the AC system to be empty. (My AC doesn't work)
View 7 RepliesI forgot I had my lift gate open and backed out of the garage...crunch! Broke off the plastic air spoiler thing. It was attached with some kind of adhesive covering 5 bolt heads and a snap on grommet at each end.
I drilled out the old adhesive on the plastic panel and chipped it off the bolts. I hope I can get two new plastic fasteners at Toyota or a body shop. Question...should I just use a two part epoxy (or what else is recommended) on the bolt heads to mount it again?
