View 9 RepliesI had my 07 prius detailed today and it looks real nice BUT, I started it up afterwards and the touchscreen was in diagnostic mode and the warning lights on the dash were acting up. The warning lights seem to be OK now except that the tire pressure indicator flickers like it is partially shorted. The issue with the touch screen is that it alternates every 10-15 seconds between diagnostic mode and the regular display but only when the ICE is running. If I am just sitting in shutdown idle ( like at a stop light) it behaves fine.

View 19 RepliesI am planning to install the WebElectric DRL-2P ( Sequential Turn Signals, One Touch Turn Signals, Challenger Sequential Taillights, Sequential Tail Lights, Mustang, Dynamite Stick Sequential, Pulsing Brake Light Pulser Flasher, One Touch Convertible Top, Dynamite Stick, One Touch Turn Signals, Dayt ) which uses the front turn signals as a DRL. Because the turn signal lights will be on all of the time, I am going to convert the turn signal bulbs to LEDs.
This will require changing the turn signal flasher (I don't want to use a resistor because of the current draw and heat issue), since the LEDs are seen as a burnt out bulb and causes a quick flash. What is the location of the turn signal flasher on the 2010? There is a thread for the 2009, but I am not sure it is the same. I would rather not take panels apart until I know that what I am looking for is underneath. What is the correct flasher to use? The closest I have seen is: LED Flasher Unit CF18-08 Specifications
One final question: Where can I locate a circuit in the engine compartment that I can tap into which is live only when the car is in the "Ready" mode. I want to use this as the trigger to turn on the DRL circuit. I have seen people suggest the windshield washer circuit, but was wondering if there is a better choice.
I recently saw what appears to be glue or some type of paste coming out of my engine. I think it may have been there the entire life of the car, but I'm not sure. Is this something I should be worried about, or should I let it slide?
View 19 RepliesIs there a convenient place to run hidden wiring from the back of the car to the front dash?
View 6 RepliesI picked up a 2004 Prius with 150k. It has no check engine light and no codes with a scangauge. I hooked it up to a mini-vci with techstream and found the following: P3009-526, C1310 and B1421. The car will only start if you reset codes, then after a few minutes of running the red triangle comes back.
View 10 RepliesI wanted to pass along the results of a brake issue I encountered in my 2010 Prius (15K miles) and report to interested Prius owners how the issue was resolved.
Problem: In the last second (or so) coming to a complete stop I noticed a few light clunk type sounds, like something was loose up front. I never experienced any degradation in the braking performance.
About two weeks ago I saw some moisture under the odometer screen. . I went to the dealer, the dealer said it is chemicals and will not be under toyota's warranty. what ever it is , I think it should be under warranty since it is under two layers of glasses, if it is not toyota's fault, how can it get there.
View 1 RepliesI just bought a 2013 prius 4 with the solar roof package this past weekend. I researched this car for a long time and love it so far!
I can't figure out how to make the screen brighten and dim when it's day/night. And my "default/home" screen is the navigation screen. I've managed to get it to split with my audio screen but I'd love my main screen to JUST be my audio screen and only view the navigation screen when I'm utilizing the navigation.
Is it possible to leave the audio screen on all the times. Usually it is the map that is always on, and when I press the audio button, it reverts back to map after a few seconds.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2010 Prius Five and would like to use my nav screen to output video from my iPhone or other devices.
View 3 RepliesWent to a meeting one evening last week with my 2010 Prius, everything working well. After the meeting we drove away and noticed that most of the dash display was "dark". Driving home and feeling a little gloom as I wondered what it might cost to fix the display problem.
I noticed the poster announcing the meeting we attended was laying on the dash and was pushed up to the display screen. I pulled the poster back an inch and the display came back on !! Pushed it forward and when it got within 1/2 inch of the display, it would blank out ??
It appears the dash display is some sort of bottom projection system to the display screen. Pushing anything up to the display screen blocks that bottom projection and blanks the screen.
I already know the climate control screen on my 2010 Prius gets scratched easily, but I noticed today that I also have many dust particles under the screen as well. I never touch the screen and I always take the car to the local car wash for cleaning. Is there any way to remove them or is this something I'll have to live with?
View 2 RepliesWe bought our 2011 2 weeks ago today and the hybrid information screen went out. Is this happening alot and are those it is happening to experiencing any other problems? Taking it to the dealers tomorrow.
View 13 RepliesShortly after taking my 2011 car in for an oil change, I'm getting an occasional message flashing on my naviscreen Telling me to insert a navi DVD.
View 17 RepliesHow do you get the Navi Screen in a 2012 to go into night mode at night? Where is the setting to adjust this so it automatically goes night or day at the right time? Also is there a way to adjust the brightness of the main mph screen (multi information display)?
View 2 RepliesSo I'm doing a 24hour test drive on a 2014 Prius Two that may be replacing my 2007 Prius Touring (aka Package 5) that has a failing hybrid battery and so far I'm happy. I miss having a backup camera and premium audio but at $17000 I don't want to pay any more. Right now I just have a simple question... how do I show the energy monitor on the dash (top screen)? I even downloaded the manual but when I press the Display button on the steering wheel the only thing I can get to is "SETTINGS 3.11.16". I went into settings but didn't find anything that stood out... so I'm lost already...
View 11 RepliesFor the past few days, when I press the power button, I hear the beeps and then every dashboard symbol appears - except the Hybrid System Indicator screen is completely dark. The car seems to be turned on - but when I try to put the car in reverse to back out of my garage, it won't change gears. When I go to press Power to shut it down, it takes about 5-10 seconds to shut off.
I found that opening and closing the driver's side door reset something so that the HSI turns on and the car eventually starts.
How do I delete the check air filter message from the 2011 Gen 3 computer screen?
View 6 RepliesI removed one of the cd's out of the dash unit and the nav display screen remains opened and won't close. I tried turning the vehicle off and on, nothing happened, so then I attempted to remove the 2nd cd that was in the changer and it slides out, but immediately slides back in.
