I have been driving 2013 model for five months. I noticed that whenever any front wheel rolls over cat-eye on the road and any sudden small bump then it generates noticeable clicking sound. I went to the dealer and they said it is normal and comes with all such cars.
View 19 RepliesI just got my 2013 a few months ago and this just started. I'm a little heavier than most people (230lbs), but I don't think that is the problem.
Sometimes when I make a turn (not hitting a bump) or go over a bump, I hear a clicking sound from underneath my seat (towards the rear)... Tried adjusting the seat and messing around with a few settings, but the "clicking" sound persists....?
I have an 02 rodeo ls 2wd with 110k miles.. I am having a lot of brake issues. 3 months ago i had front pads rotor and rear shoe's installed.then i started to feel maybe once a day a hard chatter in the brake pedal and a clicking sound coming from the dash area..so i took it back to pepboys and they said it was warped drum..so they installed new drums as well.
Well the clicking noise behind the dash is still there and the chatter in the pedal still happens.....when the pedal chatters the truck wont stop so it's kindda scary.
Also sometimes (it will last for a day or 2 then disappear) when coming to a slow stop the brakes make a rubbing noise like a waa waaaa waaa waaa as the tire rotates to a stop..I've been to pepboys 4 times and of course the noise never happens for them.
2004 PSD 4x4 72k. I thought I would be proactive so I bought the front ball joints and have plans to install them but recently I starting hearing (and feeling) a clicking sound in the front LEFT when I make sharp turns to the left and hit small bumps now and again. I jacked up the front end and am able to get 1/4" of movement front to back (top to bottom so not steering) in the wheel.
I narrowed it down to the hub. I took it apart and it is most likely a sealed unit so no adjustment is possible....that I can see.I pulled out the locking hub and got as far as I can to know there is not an adjustment. Need to confirm that it indeed is a sealed bearing and if so what are the part number(s) I may need to repair it.
I have a 2002 accent, 1.5L 16v. So the story is the other day my fiance was driving home and about 200m after she took off, the front wheels chirped all of a sudden and then she noticed it was lacking power. It was still moving along ok and got her home, however it didn't have enough grunt to even get up our steep driveway. I went outside and turned the car off and on again, then all of a sudden the problem was gone and the car drove fine up our driveway. To me this sounded like a sensor or computer issue, although no warning lights are coming up on the dash at all. The next day when driving it, it gradually lost more and more power as the drive went on, but didn't seem as bad as the first day. And again turning the engine off and on again seems to resolve the problem short term. My only thoughts are possibly the maf sensor or the trp sensor. But I'm not really sure.
View 2 RepliesI have a strange issue that just started happening. A whirring sound comes from the vent in the back seat I believe which sounds like escaping Air. Not like the last 2 years I've owned it. At the same time I noticed that the accelerator now takes a second to engage after I hit the pedal from a stop every time. Furthermore the engine seems to be over revving, as if engine braking. I've restarted the car a few times. I've checked all the fluid levels.
View 7 RepliesYesterday when I jacked up my car to switch to winter tires I hear this clicking sound, every stroke I turned the jack it will make that sound and it continues until my wheel is off the ground then it will stop. It only came from the rear 2 wheels and it happened when I jacked up the front and the back (more noticeable when jacking up the back).
I continue anyway, but today when I am driving down a parking lot (down hill turning) I hear this bumping sound from the back (sounds like bouncing basketball), it will go away if I stop but continues once I start driving again. I stop the car on flat ground and examined the tires and found nothing odd. Then when I restart the car the sound went away.
This just started yesterday on cold start and happened again this morning and this evening always after sitting for hours. I would call it a chatter sound, very distinct and only on the first start. Never heard it before. Have 97K on car, will be changing the plugs soon. Once it is warm the sound is not there on starts. It is only when starting, sounds fine once running. What would only be noisy when cold like this? Timing chain? Valves? I'm going to let others with a better sense of engines than me (my son and his friend who are mechanics) listen to it and see what they think. But it needs to be cold. Never heard such a sound on my Hondas which makes me think it may be the chain. Funny how it just came out of no where.

View 8 RepliesI have a clicking sound coming from the front right wheel, happens while driving straight or turning. My guy checked the cv boots, axle bolt, various other connections that seem fine. Then he takes a phrase out of Satan's handbook and says "take it to the dealer". I saw the horns on his head and the red eyes while he was saying it. So I made apt for next week. I don't think it's anything serious , Orr maybe it's something to do with the rotor, caliper, break pads ? Everything else seems tight.

Went to start truck today and got very little response.
Symptoms:
Workee:
Dome light (regular brightness)
key in/door open chime
No workee:
Dash lights
Solenoid (no response)
Headlights
Radio
Turn signals
Hazard lights
VOM tested battery- 12.82 V
Cleaned battery terminals
Every key turn there is a brief low chatter from interior fuse box.
Occasionally dash lights will flash briefly on key turn.
Occasionally PATS dash light will flash in 2 second cycle.
I'm suspecting the ignition switch but the no headlight condition puzzles me.
I heard that 13,14 had this issue my 15 GS is having this issue as well. Clicking noise is coming from front wheels It's like few clicks in a row when turning the wheel left / right.
Is there a DYI fix. Don't want to take to dealer they might duplicate the problem. It's not such an issue but when window is down I hear it kind of makes me wonder why a $60k car is making those noises.
I just bought it a month ago & after driving it for longer than a test drive, have noticed the rear wheels chatter & skid a bit when going around corners. It also leans heavily when cornering. I bought it used, with 25,000 miles on it. This is my 3rd Camry & I've loved them all. I never had any problems with their handling until the struts wore out around 100,000+ miles. Replacement struts fixed those. I do not drive it like it's a race car, the loss of traction, followed by fishtailing has happened below the speed limit & sometimes as low as 20 mph. I drive it on the same roads as my other 2 Camrys.
View 14 RepliesMy 2010 prius is making a strange sound, and has been since day one.
It makes a "Clicking" sound sometimes that can be heard inside the cabin and sounds like it is coming from the center dash. It is definitely NOT a squeaky dash or door panel or anything like that. It is definitely electrical in nature. It almost sounds like a very fast clicking relay or maybe another electrical component. It is fairly high pitched (not like the inverter whine, though) and definitely clicking (maybe buzzing), not constant. It sort of sounds like a cricket. I am working on adding some audio/video to this post, should have some up today.
Here are some things I have noticed about the noise:
1. Only happens when gas pedal is depressed, not when braking or coasting.
2. When the display is in "Eco" it happens loudest and consistently when the bar is 3/4 of the way full, but it can happen (although the clicking is slower and less consistent) at 1/2 or just before the power section of the bar.
3. The car must be "warmed up" i.e. doesn't happen right away, car must be driven for 10-15 min if engine is cool.
4. Seems to be happening more/more quickly after starting the car in the hotter weather (I purchased my car in Feb.)
I have an 97 Altima. When I hit on the brakes, it seems to be okay, but once I let the pedal go, there are clicking noise coming for the front wheels.

View 5 RepliesI've just bought a 1996 celica GT. It has very low mileage and is in great general shape for it's age. There is one thing that annoys me and it's a clicking sound coming from the rear passenger side wheel when going over bumps (I hear it a low speeds as tire noise take over after I guess). I was wondering if I should be looking for different signs when I jack it up? Worn bushings? And is there a way to reproduce the sound. I've read about the rear bushing being a problem on these cars... is it true?
View 5 RepliesI get a creaking/clicking noise coming from my front wheels when braking at slow speed. can be rhythmic at times which makes be think it may be a ball joint or bearing.
Also it may be related or unrelated... Between 70-80km/h my front driver side wheel gives off a "Hum". I thought it may have been unbalanced wheels since it started when I put the summer rubber on, but the tire shop said they are balanced and thats not it. The Hum goes away when driving at any other speed.
Just last month I had my brakes done (a couple weeks prior to changing my rubber).
Front: New Rotors, Pads, Shims
Rear: Machined rotors, New Pads & Shims
Brake Flush Performed.
I have a problem with the steering. Sometimes a clicking noise is coming out from the front left side when I sharply turn the wheels or hit the brake. The car was in a local garage today and they couldn't find the problem. 2 mechanics checked the suspension, cv joint, axle, wheel bearing... also 1 of them driven the car and found nothing. Tomorrow I show them the clip below.

What it could be?
My 2000 explorer has picked up a clutch chatter when taking off with the wheels turned. It is AWD, and has an 8.8" LS rear end with and 173k on the clock. Is there any good way to tell where the chatter is coming from? I know how to check the TC clutch, but it requires dropping one of the driveshafts.
I may try changing the rear diff lube, as I am sure it's never been done. They say "lube for life" but no fluid can last forever, I would think.
Also, on that note... a couple years ago I had a pinion seal leaking and the shop said it was 2 quarts low when they fixed it and said "rear diff damage has probably already occurred" on the ticket. While that is possible i suppose, would think i would have major problems right away as the diff only holds 2.5 qts (IIRC). Least wise, that was probably 50k miles ago when I had it fixed.
More than likely, the mechanic was an idiot and it was only .5 qts low, as i'm 99% sure that they left the pinion nut loose when he did the job. (had a terrible vibration that mysteriously went away when i brought it back for them to find out what is going on .. they said they didn't do anything, but it was fixed when i got it back ... they don't get my business anymore)
Anyway ... would i be able to feel that clutch chatter with one rear wheel in the air and the trans in neutral? Assuming the worst case scenario, and the TC clutch is going out, how big of a deal is it? Can i get another 20K-30K out of it before it gives up the ghost?
Ever since I had Quickstruts installed on the front I have been getting a tapping sound going over the bumps and such. I think it happens when going over something combined with the steering input, such as pulling out of a parking lot onto the main road. If I just go over a bump with wheels straight, no sound.
Can't replicate the noise by rocking the front end by hand.
The sway links appear tight, no vertical movement. I have a reman rack and pinion since last year along with new outer tie rods. Sway bar bushings maybe?
