I have a 2012 Prius. How do I remove the front windshield wipers so that I can replace them?

View 2 RepliesWife said the front windshield wipers were noisy, after a bothersome back-and-forth, she finally indicated they were "chattering." Hindsight, it would have been better for me to just drive it and see for myself.
Anyway, bought new blades (not just the refills) and installed them last night. Learning from my mistakes, I drove the car operated the wipers and now there is a horrible squeak. BUT:
It seems as if it is coming from the area of the actual wiper assembly and not from the wiper -- you know from underneath the black plastic cap that covers the end of the passenger side wiper -- pix below.
Anyway, before I get into to this....I assume I can pry off the black plastic cap, but is there any "user serviceable parts" under there that might be causing this noise?
My father in law has a 2011 Prius -3 - with 135,000 miles on it. He has an interesting issue. The front windshield wipers work on low and medium. When he tries to put them on high, the wipers barely moves. When I drop the stalk back at med or low and it works as if nothing is wrong. I have checked the 30amp fuse and it looks fine. I do not hear any grinding or noise when the wipers are working. I think it could be the motor. However before I go out and purchase the motor, I wanted to make sure there was anything else I could be missing... The dealer wanted 340 for parts and install.. .I know I can do the job myself as I have worked on their other Prius - 2005 with 240,000 miles and counting.
View 10 RepliesWe have a fleet of Prius's with 11k miles on them. Windshield wipers don't work and cigarette lighter plugs don't work. I'm guessing this is due to blown fuses. Where the fusebox is? I'm getting fed up with this. Also, is there a diagram somewhere that shows which fuses are for which circuits? (IE Which number fuses protects windshield wiper circuit) so I can finally see in the rain...

View 2 RepliesThe car will be at the dealer to trouble shoot why the windshield wipers stay on when the engine is running. Will not shut off! Obvious parts replaced to no avail.
View 18 RepliesI have a 2010 JSW TDI and when I shut off the engine, sometimes the front windshield wipers "jump" up about half an inch. This also causes a "clunk" sound when they hit against the windshield. It has not been raining where I live so I didn't accidentally leave it in intermittent or anything. Is this normal? I'm beginning to get worried that there may be an electrical problem with my Jetta.
View 24 RepliesSo over the past week of driving my new 2011 RX350 I have had the auto wipers set to on so when/if it rains they automatically come on. However at random times when there is no rain the wipers come alive an make a sweep across the windshield.
View 14 RepliesThe windshield wipers on my 2010 F-150 do not wipe a clear path. I have tried several different brands of blades without any good results. It is like the blades have to have more tension against the glass. Is there a way to increase this tension?
View 14 RepliesMy front windshield wipers seem to have gone kaput. I went to clean the windshield yesterday, and while the fluid shot out freely, the wipers didn't move. I tried intermittent, frequent, etc, and nothing got them to move. The back wiper works fine. I restarted the car, checked to make sure that nothing was blocking movement, and still no movement.
Which fuse controls the wipers? Before I head to the dealer (it's been 5 weeks since my last visit), I'd like to see if a blown fuse is the cause of the problem.
How to make the headlights turn on when the windshield wipers are activated?
You must turn on the headlights when it rains, and I don't want to pay for tickets...
I just noticed this happening on my wifes car the other day. It almost sounds like the windshield wipers are on high. Here is a link to the video where you can distinctly hear it. Also is that the inverter whining over there in the background? That's normal right?
View 15 RepliesCurios problem with my car. When I spray washer fluid quickly the wipers do not start. I can literally empty litres of fluid on the windshield and they still will not activate. Now on other cars I have had you can play chicken and pull quickly on the lever and this I can do a off a couple of times without activating the wipers but not constantly. I had it in for service and the mechanic said he has never seen this problem before and does not even know how to fix it. It does get annoying that you have to waste a lot more fluid to activate the wipers "auto" function by holding it on a few seconds longer than needed.
View 7 RepliesI'm trying to replace the front brake rotors on a 97 Ford Explorer (AWD, 5.0 L). I've removed the calipers and pads - but can not loosen the old rotors. It looks held on by rust - but do I need a special rotor pulling tool?
View 8 RepliesI broke a needle inside one of the holes in one of the windshield nozzles. Call me ocd but it's really bugging me. I have to remove it somehow. I sprayed it with wd40 so it wouldn't get rusted in there. I tried a strong magnet but no go. How i can remove it.
View 10 RepliesI have a couple of cracks in my front windshield and I'm thinking of replacing it.
A few years back I had the dealership work on the famous creaks and I know they stuffed felt in between the windshield cowl area. Would that need to be redone?
I would request a factory windshield but I'm concerned if it might make the creaking worse or if it would affect the integrity of the car.
I can't figure out how to get my front brake rotors off to replace them. I removed the caliper and thought the rotors should just come right off but they didn't? I then pulled the hub out and there was a retaining ring with a good size nut behind it , but you shouldn't have to remove the hubs to remove the brake rotors should you?
The stats of the truck are 04 f250 4wd w/manual hubs!
We have been tolerating a bad squeak in the driver's side front door upon opening, closing (any type of swinging of the door). Dealer tried lubricating it with no success. They told us that they would order a new hinge and "hope" that resolves it. I am a little worried about this. Would you trust your dealer to remove and re-install the door or just live with the squeak?
View 5 RepliesJust received a set of new horn kit from piaa.. Now wonder how can I remove the radiator cover properly for the horn replacement.. Or do I have to remove the bumper?
View 2 RepliesSo when I bought my rig in 2010 it had a Lund visor on it, granted I may not have chosen to put on one but it is on there......
Windshield is busted and I need to have it replaced......the company that came today said they needed the Lund removed and all my gauges removed in order to do the window.......I get the gauge pod (above mirror) that isn't that big a deal, pull it down and pull the wires off the gauges.....
But I am very hesitant to disturb the Lund visor.
Have to confirm the visor indeed needs to come off? I am worried it will never be as well attached and I'm going to end up with body work being done on the roof to fix it.
I have an '05 package 2 and I am replacing the steering wheel. I found that I need to disconnect the battery to replace the airbag, I also read that it is a good idea to remove the SRS relay. Which one is the relay under the hood? additionally I am trying to remove the seatbelts to clean them how do you remove the paneling without breaking the plastic?
