Recently started having issues where the master window switch will put other door windows down, but will not put windows back up. Switches at the other doors still work fine both up and down. Started with just passenger rear window, but now all the other windows act the same way. 2010 Limited AWD.

View 4 RepliesWe had 3 windows stop working but the drivers window locks and mirror adj all work. the 3 passenger windows don't work on the doors or the master switch. just bought a new master switch thinking it was the lock out on the master switch, well no change!! windows still don't work ?
View 3 Replies08 RX 350. Just changed battery. New Bosch battery. Issue: After battery change, passenger windows don't work from the driver's master window switch cluster. I'm assuming this is the result of some sort of memory being wiped out during the battery change. Or perhaps a blown fuse during power up while connecting the new battery.
View 7 RepliesI leave my car for 2 weeks without driving, and when I start the power, I have check engine light on and I drive to the dealer right away. Mechanic performs diagnostic test for engine misfire no engine miss found. The error code is P0302/P3191. The mechanic told me that I always run the car in very low on fuel, and it causes the 2nd cylinder misfile or not running when the fuel is very low. They suggest me always pump the gas when the fuel indicator has 2 bars left.
My question is that: How come the car cannot run in low fuel, low fuel doesn't mean no fuel, and it can damage the engine/cylinder?
Master warning light came on, I turned the car off and the engine would not start again. it had engine codes p3105 and p3115. the p3115 is the code for the main relay, even with the chilton manual i cant locate the main main relay. also the hybrid battery is dead. Where the main relay is? if and how to charge the hybrid battery?
View 6 RepliesI have a 2011 Elantra that I purchased brand new. Has over 60,000 miles on it. Had a check engine light come about year or so ago which was fixed with a software update at the dealer.
Check engine light is back on now. Steady light; it's not blinking. Brought it to my mechanic. Ran diagnostic and said the oxygen sensor needed to be replaced. P codes were P2096 and P2196. He ordered the sensor from the dealership and installed it. Reset my cars computer. I drove the car 26 miles and the engine light came on again.
Here are my questions:
1. Wouldn't my mechanic's diagnostic equipment tell him what the problem or all the problems were? Why would it tell him the oxygen sensor needed to be replaced when there seems to be another problem causing the engine light to come on?
2. Would the dealership have more insight into a check engine light system problem than a mechanic shop may have?
I have a 2010 model Hyundai Accent showing error codes P0301, P0302. It has a 1.6L engine. I know little about cars, what is going on and how to fix it.
View 7 RepliesMy wife suddenly had error messages today, Check AWD System, check engine, traction. Carista reports P0138 O2 sensor high circuit voltage bank 1 sensor 2and also C1241 ABS low battery positive voltage. I get the O2 sensor or wires could be bad, but the C1241 could be expensive ECU. Think both could happen at same time or just a thrown code? Reset turned warnings off but Carista reports permanent for P0138.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2010 Toyota RAV4. In February 2014 at 34,600 miles when the car was 46 months old I had the EVAP (charcoal) canister and filter replaced for $1,300. Error codes were P043, P0401 and P0402. Recently I had the following check engine error codes appear (P043E & F, P2401, P2402 & P2419) and was told by my mechanic that the car basically had the same problem. I am now at about 50,000 miles. I don't believe this type of problem is very common; also I think that the EVAP should continue functioning for a lot longer than ~4 years and now ~1.5 years. How likely is it that I got a "bad" original EVAP charcoal canister & filter and then the replacement was also "bad"? Might there be something else that is defective that is causing the EVAP canister to go bad? I don't generally top off the gas tank when filling up.

Malfunction Indicator Lamp lit on start-up during sub-freezing weather for failure to start (P3191 and P3101 codes loaded). Occurred twice (so far).
Dealer diagnosed as possible fuel pump problem, though fuel pressure nominal and held pressure after engine shut-off.
Independent mechanic (using EG011-03) diagnosed following:
Diagnosis codes: P3191 (engine does not start) and P3101 with information code 205.
Circuit opening relay was fine.
Fuel Pressure was normal (~45 psig) and held after engine shut off.
Coolant temperature - 9 deg C
Engine RPM - 1200
MG1 Torque value - 0
Installed ECU Part Number - 89661-47053, calibration # 14705301, 14705302
EG011-03 decision tree leads to replace Engine Control Module with newer part number.
Took back to dealer, who indicated still possible fuel pump problem (and reluctant to replace ECM).

The aux battery was changed about 9 months ago and the only problem I currently have is the tag lights are not working.
I have a 2005 Toyota Prius with about 150K miles on it. After work one night i hit a pothole and my ABS and BRAKE lights came on. I took it to a garage and they could t find anything wrong with it so they reset the light. It came back on about a week later (no potholdes this time) and i took it back. They hooked it up again this time it said there was an issue with the computer coding. So i took it to a Toyota dealership. They hooked it up to all their scanners and could find nothing wrong with my vehicle. They recalibrated the sensor and the light went off. Now a week later it is back on again. Brakes work fine and we get no error codes.

I noticed that when I turn the car OFF , the master warning sign (yellow triangle with an exclamation mark) and a message in Japanese (which I cannot read) appear for a few seconds. I don't see the warning when switching the car ON, or while driving. I experienced this frequently when switching the power OFF. Why this happens?
View 3 Replies This is a 2006 prius with 180k on it, that we have had since 2007 and it has been wrecked. (hit a deer) It had problems when the coolant flow control was hooked up in reverse after it got back from the body shop, but the toyota dealership fixed it. 12v battery replaced a year ago and showing 12.7v with no drain and 11.9 with a drain, on the onboard monitor.
My wife got gas yesterday and after restarting the prius, the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. ESV, Check Engine, RED TRIANGLE of Impending Doom. It was also sluggish(hybrid drive didn't seem to work, only gas) and did not seem to charge the battery. Also the battery fan was very loud but working fine. These were the same symptoms exhibited when the flow valve was reversed. Also the battery was showing 1 bar of charge when she got home. The cruise control would also not work.
So now, I take it to the parts store and connect the computer and get these codes

p0a80 Replace Hybrid Battery
P3022 Battery Block 12 weak
p1116 Coolant temperature sensor stack
p1121 coolant flow control valve
I know that the p0a80 is bad and the p3022 means there is a weak cell, but I am having trouble here:
On the way back from the store, the hybrid battery charged into the green, which it WOULD NOT do earlier, but the hybrid drive did not seem to be pulling the car. The car cranks and gas engine runs fine.
I was wondering quite a few things here.
Would the coolant codes be remnants of the last problem and not deleted from last time?
The codes had no date that I saw.
Its just that all these errors and symptoms together make no sense when I am trying to troubleshoot and figure out a course of action.
I successfully replaced the HV battery on my own and it was so easy even this girl to do it! I drove the car about 300 miles when I got the triangle of death warning light again yesterday. I took my 2002 Prius to the dealer to read the codes but how to borrow a scanner (or whatever) from Autozone and do it myself.
View 19 RepliesI just bought my 2006 Toyota Prius about a year ago in 2009. About a month or two ago, the check engine light came on and stayed on along with a big red triangular warning light.
I brought the vehicle into my local Toyota dealership so they can diagnose it.They told me that they had 3 or 4 different "codes" coming from the machine when getting the signals from the check engine light. All the codes were related to the cooling system. They said that they felt that there was "debris" clogging the pathway for the coolant flow throughout the engine. They had recommended a "coolant flush" for the hybrid side as well as the mechanical side.
So I had them perform the coolant flushes. After leaving the dealership that 1st time, the check engine light came back on the next day. I called the same dealership and explained it to them. They asked me to bring it in again.
SO I brought it to them a 2nd time. They diagnosed it again. They told me they came up with 2 of the SAME "codes" and 1 that was different, but ALL the codes were STILL related to the cooling system. They explained to me that something was preventing the clear flow of coolant throughout the engine. And since the thermostat was the only major obstacle, they recommended that I replace it. Well, I did. And after I left the dealership that 2nd time, I was praying that this was the last of my Prius issues !
The check engine light came back on the next day. The service person invited me back and did not charge me this time because it was the same issue. I told them that I am not in the business of randomly changing parts on my car unless I am absolutely sure I know exactly what the problem is. HOWEVER, this time they kept my vehicle for a good week or two. Running it through various diagnostics tests overnight here and there.
They finally came out and said that they feel that I have a coolant system leak coming from my engine and that I need to replace my head gasket which is responsible for sealing the engine.
During my 1st visit, the codes were P0117 and P1150
During the 2nd and 3rd visits , in addition to those, there was one additional one that came up that I will post as soon as I find it !
So I received the P1121 and took it to the dealer. They told me I also had a P3000. I called another dealer and they said the P3000 could be caused by the P1121 not giving it enough coolant. So I brought it back to the house, bought the valve listed in the forums, and I spent all day changing that + the coolant. I drained the coolant and between the reservoir and the radiator cap itself I refilled about 4 QT, and I saw that my inverter coolant was just below the low line, so I filled it up to the full line. Afterwards, I tried to get the coolant to flow, and it seems like I won't flow. The check engine light immediately came back on and the car said, "Problem." So I immediately shut it off and let it set for a few days. How do I get it so that the coolant starts flowing again. I haven't seen any of the levels move whatsoever on the radiator.
