I bought a car a month back and i just realized a few days ago my front emergency flashers/blinkers do not work. The rear flash fine. the blinker alert on the dash was flashing very fast so I assumed I needed a new fuse. I replaced the fuse today and still no luck.
View 5 RepliesGot a 2003 F150 4.6 2wd and recently the blinkers dont work. Also some how the 4wd light came on even though the truck is a 2wd. After searching it seems alto of people recommend replacing the Multi Function Switch. The truck is plain jane no tilt wheel.
Is this the MFS everyone is talking about?

I have an 05 Elantra and the blinkers suddenly don't work any more. Both of them. The headlights still work and everything else seems fine. I tried checking the fuses and the ones I can see are fine but there are several that are larger and opaque. You can't see if they are tripped. What could be causing the blinkers not to work and how do I check the fuses if that is the culprit?
View 5 RepliesI have my 2011 and all of a sudden my car stopped being able to sense it in the car or outside the car. The lock and unlock function still works which is puzzling, and when I tapped it to the power button in effort to start the car, the car still does not start and says it can't locate the key. I dropped a 85lb weight on it the other week at the gym but it appears there wasn't any damage when I took the key apart, and it was working fine up till now. The spare works fine, but I'm just hoping I don't have to buy another key...
Also noticed this is the same part number, and since i only need the new circuit board I'm assuming, I wonder if its the same size as the prius one...
I have an '07 ES 350 and recently I ran into this problem where my emergency blinkers would turn on and remain on when I turn on my headlights. This occurs as soon as I turn my headlights from off to any other position(auto, fogs, on) and this happens every time. I tried pressing the actual emergency light button to try and turn it off, but that didn't work. I also tried disconnecting and reconnecting the headlight from the electrical system, but that didn't solve it either.
The only way that I got the headlights to work without the emergency blinkers is by turning the brightness of the dash all the way down, so that the odometer light and all of that is completely dark. It's been fine since I bought the car 2nd hand in mid 2013 so I don't know why this is acting up all of a sudden. What's going on?

View 6 RepliesSo, yesterday my fob just stopped working out of nowhere. Red light comes on, but none of the buttons work... nothing happens whatsoever. So, for a few times I used the key within the fob to lock/unlock the car. Now, even that key won't work. When I peeked inside my car, I noticed a light flashing that I've never seen before. It looks like a car with a key inside of it, and it's been flashing since last night.
View 4 RepliesWith my wife's Prius, my key doesn't work anymore, wirelessly. I thought that putting the key into the slot would possibly recharge a battery in the key, but even after very long trips, the key will not unlock the car if it's in my pocket. I can only unlock or lock the doors by removing the actual key in the fob. And then I can only start the car with the key fob in the dash holder. I assume there has to be a battery in there, so is it replaceable by the dealer?
View 4 RepliesI've got a 2007 Prius and the buttons on one of the smart keys no longer works. With the key in hand, I can touch the door handle and the door will unlock. I can also turn the car on without placing the SKS in the slot. However the lock/unlock/emergency buttons don't work. Everything works fine on my other SKS so I don't believe it's something with the car. I've also checked the KEY button below the steering wheel - it's out.
I've just changed the batteries on the broken SKS. Even going as far as pulling the battery out of the completely functional SKS and putting it into the broken SKS. Still, the three buttons don't work.
I just bought my 2001 with 153k on it and I notice that sometimes it didn't appear to fully engage in park. What I mean is that.... If I park on a a small incline occasionally after I put it in park and take my foot of the brake..... It will pop into park..... Or I'll have to wiggle a little when I notice the key can't be removed from the ignition. Now that I notice this.... I can make sure it is fully in park each time.
My emergency brake cable doesn't work (and I always do use this religiously on my other cars), and I think having it reduces strain on the transmission..... But darn its near 300 bucks to replace I'm told.
I just bought some LED blinkers for my tail lights and after I installed them, I'm getting a fast blinker thing like my lights are out. I know that LEDs don't draw as much power but is there anyway to fix this? Also, if I buy the Valenti tail lights that are LEDS, will I have that issue with them?

View 2 RepliesMy work truck is an 03 F250 5.3L. My flashers recently stopped working. I turn them on, and they will work anywhere from 5 seconds to a few minutes, then either blink rapidly and shut off, stay solid for a few seconds and shut off, or just shut off. I push the switch off and on again, and the cycle repeats. All my other lights and turn signals work fine with no issues.
This wouldn't be a huge issue, but where I work I need the flashers a lot. The truck has a bar light and siren/pa system wired into it, but not to the lights or anywhere near that. I can't say exactly how it's wired because I didn't install it, but I followed the wires and they don't go under the steering wheel where I would assume the relay and wires for flashers would be.
What sounds like is wrong? I wouldn't think it would be the relay because then I would think that I would be having problems with more than just the flashers. So I'm not sure if there would just be a ground issue or if it's the actual switch that turns on the hazards. Also, there are no lights that are burnt out.
The turn signals/hazard flasher on my 99 Sebring Jxi stopped working a couple of weeks ago. When I use the signal lever or press the hazard flasher switch, you don't hear any click of the flasher relay, and the lights (front and rear, and on the dash) don't light up at all.
So far, I have:
* Checked the fuse
* Replaced the flasher
* Replaced the turn signal switch
* Replaced the flasher AGAIN (mechanic says that if there was a problem with the turn signal switch, it can burn out the flasher)
* Checked the fuse AGAIN, and even replaced it (even though it's the same fuse for the wiper/washer, and that's still working)
I asked my mechanic about it, and he said that a bad ground can also cause problems. The big question is: where do I begin to look?
I have an '05 Chevy Colorado and the front turn signals don't work and no flashers. I've tried replacing bulbs and checked the fuses. Looking for info what would work.

View 18 RepliesWe have a 2014 standard Prius (5-door). Haven't had it for a year yet. Just recently this problem has developed with the Prius. My wife drives the car mostly. She can make and connect a hands free call, but then she can't hear the other end and they don't hear her. When looking at the iPhone (iPhone 6), we can see the call is connected. Just can't talk to other end.
View 1 RepliesWhile the emergency brake was set, I happend to lean against the rear driver side of the the car and was surprised to hear a clanking, slapping noise coming from underneath the rear of the car; seemingly near the left rear wheel. What I think I'm hearing is the emergency brake cable (I assume this is a rear wheel cable brake) slapping against the vehicle frame or wheel axle. Even opening and closing the rear passenger door caused the cable to slap against the car.
This got me to experiment a bit, so I rocked the car back and forth and side to side. It's the side-to-side movement that causes the noise. The emergency brake works when set. The noise disappears when I release the emergency brake.
2010 Prius with 85k miles. Went to start car and here is what I get. All lights on dash come on including emergency icons. When I depress brake to shift into gear lights on dash go dim but not out. Car does not go into gear and neither does it show it going into gear on display. Heater was on and I tried to shut off the fan and again no response. Very difficult to get it to shut off. Pushed off 3 or 4 times and it finally responded. Been cold here in the teens and car has not been used for 3 or 4 days. Everything has been fine up to this point. No problems with anything.
View 10 RepliesI've been dealing with an A/C issue for a while, ever since last summer. A black on black car is hot enough as it is and with no A/C, it sucks. I took it to the local specialist, not the stealership, Anyway, he looked over it and found that one component wasnt even wired up so he wired it up and fixed it and put some freon in it and it seemed to work fine.... until the freon escaped.
View 4 RepliesI've had my 2013 Prius since new. Basically it feels like my car is over-exhausting itself. When I go to take off, the car jerks like I slammed my pedal to the floor. If I'm on the highway and need to speed up, it sounds like it's reving really high and really long, and when I take my foot off the gas, there's about a 5 second delay before the car actually starts to decelerate. I don't even feel comfortable on the highway when it's acting up because my car kinda just accelerates suddenly and then takes forever to stop even when my foot isn't on the gas anymore.
This problem happened last summer, and when I took it to the dealership it stopped before I could show them. It started getting cold outside not long after so this didn't happen again. Now that it's hot out, my car is doing it again. And it's fine as long as the sun has gone down for the night. I thought it was because my a/c was on, but I can turn it off and it doesn't make a difference on the way the car is driving. I get regular maintenance done, all my filters are clean, and there's nothing I can really think could be wrong.
