I opened the hood today to install the Carbon Fiber logo and noticed that the plastic cover sitting on top of the radiator was loose. That's when I noticed that the 2 clips holding the plastic cover were broken.
View 3 RepliesI forgot I had my lift gate open and backed out of the garage...crunch! Broke off the plastic air spoiler thing. It was attached with some kind of adhesive covering 5 bolt heads and a snap on grommet at each end.
I drilled out the old adhesive on the plastic panel and chipped it off the bolts. I hope I can get two new plastic fasteners at Toyota or a body shop. Question...should I just use a two part epoxy (or what else is recommended) on the bolt heads to mount it again?
The plastic cover on the left front interior light came off; it is mostly intact but the small plastic tab in the inside (where the lightbulb is) is broken. It seems to be attached to the whole mechanism.

View 6 RepliesI have a 2012 Prius. I occasionally will clean the wheel wells, as I live on a dirt road. I have found that there's a plastic cover inside the left rear wheel well, at about 2 o'clock as you face the wheel. It seems to be loose.
View 3 RepliesJust picked up a new to me very nice 2011 F350 SWB 4X4 Lariat. While going through it and I missed this when buying it, the top of the under-hood fuse box was missing and just covered over by a makeshift cover of rubber and black duct tape.
I have ordered and received the the new fusebox cover ( what a bear to get into place ) and then figured out that the PO had broken the clips that lock it down.
I have tried to get a long zip-tie around it, not much luck, and now I get a C-clamp into there to keep it closed?
I really do not want to have to order a new fusebox and pull this one apart and rewire, that just screams electrical gremlins for the life of the truck.
I just joined up after purchasing a CPO 2010 Prius IV. Love the car but after taking a closer look I noticed that one side of the bottom black plastic cover was drooping on one side. Upon closer inspection I noticed that there was a screw and plastic Grommet combination that was not locked into place. After unscrewing the screw, I tried to put the grommet back in place but noticed that it couldn't fit because (I believe) the white bumper portion where the grommet goes broke off. I compared it to the other side of the car and yes it does seem like part of the plastic top portion that is connected to the bumper broke off.
I inspected the bottom some more and it seems like there are a good number of screws missing and a large plastic piece that is the front tire well is also very loose.
I recently installed a new stereo in my 2003 Camry. While deciding whether to get a bluetooth option, I messed around with the drivers side pillar cover, which is where I would have run the bluetooth wire/mic, had I decided to go that route. Anyway, I took the pillar off and I guess the clips that held it on broke off? It was never 100% "attached" so to speak, or so it appeared. Even before I took it all the way off the top part was a little loose so I think that clip was broke off already. When the cover came off I noticed that the 2 spots where the clips attached appear damaged as well, but I can't tell that for sure as I don't know what it would look like undamaged. Also, part (or what appears to be part) of one of the plastic white clips came off too. I was planning on attaching pics, but posting rules for me say no attachments...
a. Is the cover broken as far as being able to hold new clips on?
b. If it isn't broken, where do I get new clips?
Changed the spark plugs on my 2006 Camry today. Everything went smoothly and quickly except for the fact that I broke all the little keeper clips on the connector plugs that connect to the coil packs. I called my Toyota dealers and one said I had to replace the entire wire harness. The other found the connector plugs for around $8 each. Will the broken clips be a problem with the connectors eventually coming off from vibration if I don't replace them? I'm not sure how to replace the connectors if I go that route. How to go about replacing the connector plugs?

One of the features I really like over the '06 Prius is the ability of the cruise control to hold the set speed on downhills (until the battery fills up and it switches to compression braking "B" mode, but that's a different topic).
After taking it in for the 10K mile service, it no longer engages regenerative braking on downhills with cruise control set. This is on the same hills where previously it would hold speed.
Did Toyota do a software upgrade that disables this feature?
This morning after pulling out of the garage, i notice a small wet spot on the floor, went to see what it was and it was oil, its was a wierd shade of red/orange and very clear, def not engine oil. Then looked under a car and saw it where it came from, front driver side, there is a some kind of plastic cover, it was collecting there then dripping out. I can see the oil dripping on the plastic cover when looking from the engine bay? What can it be?

View 2 RepliesI recently removed the top plastic cover on my '05 Camry LE V6 to pull a plug and inspect/decide if I was going to change them out. While I felt I was being careful handling the plastic cover, I grabbed it by the access hole for the oil filler cap. Walking back into the garage, some black carbon came off, and looking at the bits on the ground, and what was left on the inside of the cover, I'm not sure if there is supposed to be a gasket there.
Maybe it was just an accumulation of spilled oil over the years that has trapped and "cooked", or something put in place to capture spilled oil. I scraped the rest of the carbon off using a razor blade and cleaned it up before installing the cover.
Having problems with sunroof cover making noise when going over bumps? It just sounds like the plastic is making all the noise.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2007 Camry XLE V6 that needs new spark plugs and the first thing to remove is the plastic engine cover. I do not see any screws or bolts attaching it down and I would like to know the proper way to remove it without damaging it or the plugs holding it down. How to do this?
View 3 RepliesI took the plastic cover in front of the radiator off to clean the radiator and condenser. It directs air through the condenser before it gets to the radiator and I was wondering if it would cool the engine without it (if you don't need real cold ac air) . Without it the air can go over the top of the condenser and it is still blocked by the flap that stops airflow above the radiator. Also, I am wondering if the fact that the condenser has nothing in it affects the radiator cooling, and is it bad for the AC system to be empty. (My AC doesn't work)

View 11 RepliesNoticed that my drivers side back up plastic cover is cracked with a small hole in the top. Would like to RTV the damaged area to seal it but I need to remove it to make the repair. I've pulled some of the inner plastic on the door but can't get at the back up plastic cover.
View 1 RepliesThe two hoses from the engine to the heater core plumbing at the firewall came off. The plastic piping the hoses attached to became brittle and weak from engine vibration. I tried threading 1/4" pipe threads then installing pipe nipple to which I attached heater hoses from engine-worked for a while then failed. There is very little room to work with between firewall and the engine. I'm curious to see how plastic piping goes to heater core.
View 1 RepliesI have a pip which is about 2 months old and has around 6056 miles on it. I had a 2010 prius hatch before this drove it 186000 miles with out even needing to change the brakes and it didn't have any of the following symptoms.
ever since i drove the pip off the lot i have been noticing allot of creaking in the plastics inside the car and squeaking the cup holder and the dash it all got worse once i installed trd lowering springs i now this is happening due to road vibrations but should i take it to toyota and tell them that it feels like all the plastic pieces are lose inside the car and broken.
