I have a 2011 Prius 3 and it keeps blowing fuse 29, its the fuse for the dome lights and then the dome lights don't work and the traction control light stays on. Why this fuse keeps blowing?
View 19 RepliesI've had the PC Shop fog light kit for about a year now along with a 35w HID kit. Was working fine for about a year and they stopped working. I checked the 20A fuse and it was blown. Replaced it, and immediately blows again as soon as I turn on the fog lights. Tried again with 15A, 25A and 30A, same thing. Perhaps coincidence, but the kit initially stopped working after a rainy day but I've driven my car through rain and snow in the past without issues. The HID ballasts are mounted 2ft off the ground and are waterproof.
View 1 RepliesI have owned my Prius three, not III, for just over 2 years now. The first year I had no issue but now, when charging my iPhone 6, the fuse blows every 2-4 weeks. (My phone is the ONLY thing I ever plug in there). I finally tried replacing the 15amp fuse with a 20amp (I know, that's a no no). But I still blew the 20amp fuse now.
View 16 RepliesThis issue came on suddenly. I unplugged the license plate lights- fuse still blew. I don't know where the wire harness is for this group of wires going to these lights to check for frayed or melted wires. I don't see any damage any where. I am severely limited for funds for a mechanic so I need to try and figure this out first myself. Looking for pictures of how I can traces the wires through the car?

View 5 RepliesI have to manually lock my car doors, and use the door handle unlock sensor to open them. If i use the key FOB or power lock button it blows the fuse. I would like to lock my rear hatch, locking the car the way i do i can never lock the rear.

Next day 10a fuse blew again and then 2 more times in same day. My tail lights go out and license plate light go out together when this happens. What can I do?
We bought this car a month ago, 2007 US touring model. It had a 15A fuse in the Gauge position (spec calls for 10A there) when we bought it. As of last week it is blowing a lot.
What we've noticed:
- First time it happened I noticed my signals weren't working. After 5 minutes of driving I pulled over and turned the car off and on. At that point the Combination Meter went blank. After getting home I found the fuse blown. Replaced it with a 10A fuse, and that blew right away when starting the car. Replaced it with a 15A fuse and it worked for a few trips.
- While I was away for a week, my wife replaced the fuse 3 times while it blew away from home. (she estimates every third trip) She has found it seems to happen when putting the car in reverse.
- Today the car is working fine, and I can't replicate the problem.
I have a 2011 Elantra and the air conditioning is not blowing cold air. I checked the system pressure with the AC running and get 83 psi on the low side and 85 psi on the high side. I have not found any documentation about what the correct readings should be...

View 1 RepliesMy 2010 II has two power sockets, one under the radio, and another inside the center console. The center console one does not work, whereas the other one does. I checked both the fuses, and even swapped the two fuses. I also checked several other fuses just to be sure. No fuses are blown and nothing changes by swapping the 2 power port fuses.

View 6 RepliesI have a 2011 Prius Three and one thing I have noticed is that the headlights don't last nearly as long as other vehicles I've owned. I drive 104 miles per day round trip, and I do leave my headlights on all the time but that has always been my driving habits. Thus far, I have been through 3 sets of headlamps, mostly low beam. Also low beam seems very weak, always better with the high beams on. Is it normal or might I have an electrical issue.

View 3 Replies2007 FJ Cruiser, 4WD, 65K Miles. I replaced the 120 AMP Fuse. Starts, everything seems to work, but the 40 AMP Fuse (ABS Motor) is blown. New fuses blow as soon as I place them in. Brakes pedal has little resistance and can barely stop the vehicle at slow speeds.
What will stop the 40 amp ABS fuse from blowing?
My 2000 Passat 1.8T is being evil again. Fuse 15 keeps blowing and I can't seem to find where the short is... however, its stuck at my work. Its a pretty big short, the fuse sparks as soon as I put the fuse near it. BIG SPARKS. Any way to start it without that fuse in?
View 1 RepliesEvery time I step on the brakes, there is a bright spark in fuse #13. My brake lights, turn signals and hazards don't work. At this point my truck isn't drivable.
According to the owner's manual in my truck, says circuit #13 is for "stop lamps, CHMSL/hazard, trailer tow stop lamp, and speed control."
I'm assuming that the hazard part covers the turn signals as well, but I know the cruise control works even when the fuse is blown. I used it last night on the way home (this was before I realized I didn't have brake lights).
So I know I have a short somewhere. The only mods I've done to the lights are the aftermarket headlights, but if the fuse only gets blown when I step on the brakes, I don't see what that would have to do with it. Also, these lights have been installed and working for about a month before this started. The only thing that I did around the same time was install the gauges. I ran the power to them from #5, the customer access circuit.
Are there any other "common" areas for this to happen? I already removed the rear brake lights and it didn't work. I am quickly running out of 20A mini fuses.
Right now it's 101 degrees outside and the A/C on my Prius just ain't gettin' the job done. It doesn't even feel like it's blowing cool air anymore, just lukewarm air. How can I cool down the cabin more? Temps like this only happen a couple times a year here. What do Prius owners do in places like Pheonix where 100+ temps are the norm?
