I was diving on the interstate and these lights came on and the car beeped. I checked the tire pressures and now the car will do nothing. It says a problem with park.
View 2 RepliesHad the low tire light indicating a tire has low pressure, which I have had happen before and so inflate all tires from 38 to 40 lbs each. After a few tire rotations, lamp extinguishes. Except this time it doesn't. It blinks for a minute then lights steady.
Any way to reset it (didn't find anything in owners manual) or tell if its the sensor in a tire or the sensor element on car? Either way suppose will be a visit to Toyota repair. Oh well, first real visit for a problem in six years (other than for recalls), other than headlight replacements and oil changes.
Title says it all. Occasionally when I try to start my 2007 Prius (70k miles), the master warning light along with the brake, ABS, and VSC warning lights all come on. I'll turn my car off and then turn it back on and it will start right away.
One thing that I notice is that it seems like the headlights and/or the MFD is dimmer than usual when this happens. I'll turn off the headlights, turn on the car, wait for it to start, and then turn on the headlights and everything will work correctly.
Apparently my 2008 Prius decided to tell me in it's own way the same thing by showing me these lights this morning.
So they turned on while in a drive through, around the corner from my house. All except the master warning light. 5 minutes after the initial ones, the master light came on. And the braking power disappeared. I immediately got it home and shut it off..
After some research, I performed the 12V Aux battery test on screen in the car.
Confirmed -11.8v while ON, and 11.4 V when in ACCESSORY mode. So the 12v battery more than likely is the culprit for this problem.
I was driving down the highway today and the brakes light (!), vsc, and master red triangle warning lights came on, along with a car with an ! in it on the main display screen. There is no noticeable difference in noise, mpg, or breaking performance. From reading through previous forums a bad 12v battery seems to be a common problem. Mine was replaced ~8 months ago. About 2 weeks ago the serpentine belt snapped and the car was drove ~2 miles to my home where I replaced it along with the bad water pump and also the thermostat. Could that have caused my current problem. 130k miles on the car...
View 6 RepliesMy case involves a 2005 Prius with 55k miles on it with the problem of the master warning light (triangle with !), yellow brake light ( (!) ), airbag, and VSC lights coming on whilst driving. The car drives just perfectly fine without any discernible problems. Scan tool did not detect any codes. Tested the 12v auxiliary battery and it is strong with both voltage and amperage (even went as far as temporarily jury-rigging a fresh v12 battery in parallel with it to see if it would alleviate the problem). Inverter coolant pump runs well, coolant changed with appropriate Toyota Super Long Life coolant (50/50 mix) and system bled. Despite some drivers' concerns over disconnecting the 12v battery to reset the lights, this was done and the lights would go out, only to have them come on again after about 5-10 minutes of driving. Asides from the lights coming up, the car itself seems to be asymptomatic. Hybrid system appears to be running smooth and fine, SOC is good, asides from the lights the car drives very well.
View 9 RepliesI bought this prius and it runs and drives great, no issues until a couple weeks into ownership and the car refused to "ready" up. i figured out real quick it was the 12v battery....BUT instead of replacing it i was trying to be cheap and charged it to verify for sure, worked great for about a week until it wouldn't start the car again and gave me the "park on level ground" warning. i got passed it after a few presses of the start button but the master warning, VSC, Brake (!), and airbag lights came on. I replaced the 12v promptly and this did not remove the lights. 2 weeks later the lights are still there and I have tried resetting the brake/airbag lights via pins 4 and 13 and failed at getting the lights to go out. a scan tool will delete them for about 10 seconds.
The codes I was able to pull via blink were:

I cleared them with the "press brakes 8 times" method, lights remain and codes pop up

Vehicle: 2009 Toyota Prius Base ... Recently my car started showing the master warning light along with the temp warning light on the navigation screen. After opening the hood and inspecting, there is a coolant leaking from somewhere. Took it to the dealer and was told there is no leak but a bad/blocked coolant tank assembly. Question is, if I bought the tank myself for under $1k, could I replace it myself? What would be involved besides replacing coolant? Do I need to get the air out of the lines? Etc.

View 5 RepliesI just bought a 2007 prius and after a few days the tire pressure light went on and off for a few days, I since measured pressure and filled to the exact amt. and now the light stays on all the time {approx 5 days now} manual says contact toyota dealer, I have no money for that and do not feel anything is wrong.
View 7 RepliesI've had my prius since April and the tire pressure light keeps coming on. It's been in to the dealer 5 times now and they have yet to find out what's causing it. It doesn't come on when I'm driving in town but only when I'm going out of town on a trip. I make almost monthly trips that are approximately 180 miles one way. I don't go over any mountain chains or have any large increase/decrease in temperature. I've been documenting when it comes on and it seems to be about 1 1/2 hrs into our trip but it has come on earlier also. Basically, the light will come on, start blinking for several seconds and then stay on until the car is stopped. Then it'll turn off. However, I've also had it only stay on for a few minutes before it turned off. It's never on when I take it in to be looked at.

View 16 RepliesMy 2006 prius has the Master warning light(red) and the braking system light (Yellow) on while I am driving, and I went to the dealer.
The technician told me that he could not verify any warning lights ON at that moment, and he performed health and diagnostic checks on it. He inspected connection at auxiliary battery and junction box 1. All checked OK at this time. No repairs recommended at this time.
However, the master warning light came on when I pick up the vehicle. The dealer told me that they will inspect it again tomorrow. And they found that there a P0A08 error code. They suggested me to replace the hybrid converter/inverter.. My car can still drive while the lights ON.

View 7 RepliesIt was very cold in the morning yesterday and my tire pressure warning light came on. I had a funny feeling that it was related to the temperature but it didn't ever go off so I called Toyota today and they said to drop by with it and they would check it out. On the way there after work I got rear-ended. So sad. I thought it was just the bumper but the hatch won't latch properly so they said they would have to 'pull something out...". It was going to be about $800 for a new bumper but now will be more. I'm going tomorrow to see their collision guys about a quote to fix it. My poor car. I have to admit that even with a dented bumper the car still looks good!!! I don't know how I'm going to manage for the two days it takes to get it fixed. I have to re-learn how to use one of those key things.
The Toyota service person told me that he had 14 cars in today alone to reset the tire pressure warning lights that came on because of the cold weather. He said my tire pressure was fine. Just my bumper needs a little work.
I was driving earlier today and it flashed twice (about a second and a half each), and then didn't see it again for a few hours. I was going about 40 MPH at the time.
I was driving somewhere else today and when I got to the 70MPH mark (really, between 60-70), it objectively increased in frequency. I searched google and these forums, and the closest thread I can find that shares my ailments was this one:
So the other day my girlfriend got in her car and it had the master warning light on. we took it to the dealer and now they are saying it is something with the transmission and it would be cheaper to just install a new one. Another thing is how could it be the transmission if i drove it over to the dealer and head no problem with the gears changing, but he also said something about a voltage leak.
View 2 RepliesI have 2011 Prius Pck II. Racked up about 22k miles now is socal. Replaced one tire due to flat. From week 3, Ive had blinking tire pressure warning.. then it stays lit then goes away.
Dealer said they will reset and say the sensors are just sensitive. Well.. 22k miles of annoying problems continues to blink then stays lit, then goes away.
I think it is defected.. they don't want to admit it and replace for me.
I think my tire pressure warning light is malfunctioning. I check all the tires with different tire gauges and they are all showing around 40 psi. I reset the system by holding down the button and let the light flash 3 times after I check them. It is only sporadic and does not stay on unless one of the tires is low. I did have a loose valve stem, that I tightened myself. When it does this it seems to come on and flash before going off and does not stay on. Sometimes it stays on for a little while and then goes off. Could it be a bad sensor?
