Ok; so yesterday when going to the bank (to pay for my car loan no less -.-) My wife let me know (well started yelling more like) that there was water coming out of the dash all over the carpet. It was 40 outside so I was using the heat; had it set to 76. I tore apart the flooring and found where it was leaking
View 3 RepliesI have something really strange that has happened to me... two days ago I noticed a small puddle of water in the back off my Prius on the floor behind the passenger seat. There is absolutely no water anyway else..I've thoroughly searched. I dried it up as much as I can but it seems to continue to get wet - not to the extent it was the first time I saw it, but when I press down with my hand I can hear water in the carpet. I've used a wet vac to suck up as much as I can... but I come back and it is still wet again.... What could be leaking... again.. absolutely nothing else is wet.. and nothing could have spilled that would have produced that much water.

View 8 RepliesI have a 2005 Prius with about 185,000 miles on it. I've noticed a water sloshing sound coming from the engine area whenever the ICE starts up and I'm accelerating from a stop. This sound does not occur when just running off the battery in electric mode... only right after the engine cranks up. After a few seconds the sound goes away until the next stop.

View 1 RepliesFirst background: G2 car has 215,000 mi and recently got P1121 scan code, so I replaced the coolant control valve. that's when high coolant temp and no cabin heat started.
on CCV top nipple connected to hose that had a dot on it and hose goes under inverter cover on right, next nipple down went to hose slightly to left of first hose, bottom hose goes to thermus can. initially ran car in diag mode with high heat, no heat in cabin.
so I got a Autel 519 scan code reader and I see now that the only code is a P0505 (idle air control malfunction)
taking car down my road for short test run, I turn off cabin heat completely and watched the ECT. after a while it climbs to around 220, then while engine is running quickly goes to 245F then 260F. At that point in time (around 245F) the high temp indicator lights up, temp stayed at 260ish so I return home. With car in park, cabin heat off - the temp returns back down to 220F. if I rev the engine temp again climbs.
I have gone through all suggestions, open radiator bleed valve, manually 'pumped' coolant hoses, turned on/off high heat in cabin and finally with car off removed and jumped the CHS multiple times for about 20secs.
Have purged the coolant system over period of days and coolant appears to be full as level is near top of radiator cap, no bubbling, no gurgling.
However 2 mentioned problems continue... I am starting to suspect coolant thermostat but it would seem strange that it would go at precisely the same time as coolant control valve.
Looking for photos where the A/C drain tube is located for accent 2008? Water is spilling inside my car and i think the a/c drain is clogged.

Took it to dealership the drain is plugged if I had brought the car in when under warranty they would have done the retrofit it needs to fix their lousy design problem for free. I am trying to talk to Mazda and the dealership about them fixing the problem for free. They issued a in house service bulletin but not to the public.

I happened to look behind the passenger side seat and there was 3in. of water on the floor so i looked up at the sunroof and there wasn't any stains or anything from water as well as the doors windows everything... It's the strangest thing I've seen the only thing wet is on the floor...
View 4 RepliesIn April of this year I had a large amount of water in the rear passenger area..Long story short it was the pollen filter..Dealership got it covered with my extended warranty, but yet I had to pay 1200.00 to replace the carpet..They also replaced the Control unit?? Wiring harness and housing...So, now fast forward to 2 days ago. I had a FLOOD in the rear DRIVER seat this time.I called to let them know and they said to bring it in Monday for emergency appt..My plan was to drop it off Sunday evening..during the night of rain we had Saturday I hear a god awful noise at 4 Am..My car is all lit up in orange lights.We had to disc the battery to stop the noise and lights..later that morning we got the wet-vac and hooked up the battery again. It started fine, but then all the lights went crazy and everything got all whacked out.
My trunk no longer closes...so we disc the battery and call AAA to tow to dealer..They just called me now..of course they need it for a day or 2 to determine the problem and see if it is covered! it damn well better be..they got it covered last time. I am beyond irate at this point. No doubt the car is in the same condition as before...main computer is obviously screwed up again..If they think I am paying 1 penny they are sadly mistaken..twice in 2 months?? Something is definitely hinky here..last time before they determined it was the pollen filter, they told me they cleared all drainage area and ruled out all that so they can't tell me that was the problem this time..They can't get clogged in 2 months when for the past 5 years I have NEVER had this issue.
My 2006 Prius front passenger seat (leather) squeaks constantly. Sounds like styrofoam rubbing against styrofoam. Been to Toyota dealer three times and they have not been able to solve the problem. Squeak only gets worse. Am I the only one driving a GenII Prius with this problem?
View 2 RepliesShortly after having my tires rotation/oil change service, I noticed a strong vibration around 45 mph, enough to visibly shake the passenger seat. Other indications:
- It is most noticable when accelerating (e.g. entrance ramp), much less when coasting at 45. I can coast at 45 and when I accelerate feel the vibration increase.
- I did not notice the vibration prior to the tire rotation, so I think it is unrelated to my accident in November.
- The vibration is not apparent at all below 40.
- I had all 4 tires rebalanced (thinking one of them may have thrown a weight) and I still have the vibration.
- I do have a little irregular wear on the tires (inside shoulder).
Before I take it in and have it looked at, I was thinking of taking off one wheel at a time and testing the car w/ the spare on to see if it is one of the tires.
Any other ideas about potential problems that could cause this vibration?
I know some others have had problems with water below the aux battery. I noticed this the other day when replacing the aux battery. I tried to pinpoint where the leak was by pouring water over the seams around the hatch and roof but didn't notice any water coming in. Then I tried pouring water in the seam above the right rear passenger wheel. Pictures are posted below. The water comes through the vent on the body that is just next to the battery. How to correct this?
View 9 RepliesI have a 2008 Prius. I recently discovered some cold water leaking from behind the center instrument console on to the front passenger side floor. It only leaks when the A/C is running and there doesn't appear to be any difference if running with fresh air or recirc air. I removed the plastic covers from that area to look around. There is cold water dripping from the bottom of the metal tube that goes behind the console and into I guess an A/C component. The water is not running down the tube as the tube itself is dry. So, I'm wondering if this may be condensation on the A/C unit? Also is there a drain tube that may be clogged or something like that?

I have a unique situation:
•No passenger: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
•Passenger with seat belt: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
•Passenger with no seat belt: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
I have no other warning lights on the dash.
I tried to check to check if there are any loose wires/connectors under the passenger seat but everthing looks ok.
Is there a blown fuse?
I just purchased my daughter a used 2006 Prius and we found water in the rear right passenger floor board this morning. We have only had the car 3 days. There are on leaks that I could find inside the car. I looked in the tire well and water was there and also near the 12Volt battery also. The brownish/yellow sealant in the tire well that goes around the bottom is also in my 2010 Prius but I noticed that my daughters 2006 Prius the sealant or what I believe to be bodyflex is cracked. I am going to have a body person look and see if he agrees with me that this bodyflex is cracked.

View 19 Replies2005 6.0l PSD. Driving flat road pulling 8K trailer. Not pushing it at all. Sudden air hissing sound on (seems like) passenger side of truck. Black smoke pouring from tailpipe. Check intercooler pipe and is ok. Can't see anything that is loose. Only 8 miles to the campground so limp down the road at 30 MPH which is all it will do. Hissing sound is remarkable predictable in that it is repetitive every 5 seconds or so. Lasts for maybe 2 seconds then stops the repeats.
There is no turbo boost either on the dash gauge or the Scan II gauge. Shutting the engine down, there is no turbo wind down. Scan II show no codes. Check everything I can reach and find nothing extraordinary. Tried starting a driving it today and had boost for a minute only then nothing. Blowing white smoke too. Check the oil and it is oil. Check the radiator fluid and it is oil free. Running low on fuel and wonder if I have a water in the fuel problem. However, don't think that should effect the non functioning turbo...
Is it possible to remove the front passenger seat? Is it just a few bolts? I have to transport my bicycle and it has an extremely long wheelbase (its a recumbent). I basically need the full length of the interior compartment to accommodate it.
