Car was broken in last night. Went to a near by auto glass shop to get the glass replaced. After the glass replacement, the window will lower half way after it reached the top using the auto up function (pull up and release). It stays up if you hold the switch up. Why that is? Seems to me the jam protection is activated, according to the manual.

Smashed out my driver's side window and took it. Now to replace that window. I did manage to find a replacement window.
Pulled off the door panel and now I'm trying to install the glass. Anything I try though, I can't seem to get the glass back into the tracks. Does anything inside the door need to be removed before I can install the glass back into the tracks? Such as the window motor/regulator assembly? On the left side of the drivers door towards the bottom, there is also another small alignment track. Does this need to be removed as well?
My front passenger door will not unlock when i activate the locks from the driver's side door- all other locks (driver's door, back seat, trunk) do unlock when activated (from both inside and out). When I try to use the locking feature on the passenger door it does not respond, nor does it respond the the key fob. The only way I can unlock my passenger door is manually. Is this something I can fix at home?
View 8 RepliesMy locks on the driver's door do not work when the vehicle is parked. The locks work find from the other doors, the keypad and the remote. Also door ajar light comes on. When the vehicle is moving the locks work fine.
I replace the lock switch, but it didn't make any difference. I loosen the three screws holding the mechanish sprayed with lots to WD40 and moved the mechanism around a little, it worked a couple of times, but then back to nothing.
Thinking about replacing the door ajar switch, but not sure of the relationship to the lock.
I am stuck with a shattered rear drivers door glass because of a thief. They got my backpack with an Ipad and misc things. Now I am trying to replace the glass myself but the dealer want big amount for the part because it comes with the track. (ridiculous!!!) Aside from replacing my ipad, backpack, and other irreplaceable items, this glass replacement is fubar with little info on it. Is it possible to just replace the glass like any other car???
View 8 RepliesSo it started when the auto up DID work, and when it closed, it automatically came back down. In order to close the window, I had to use the switch in the non-auto mode. Now, the auto up and down don't work.
View 11 RepliesMy drivers window goes up and down good but the auto down does not work. I checked the fuse/relay that is in the box under the hood, drivers side and it looked okay but to be sure I swapped it with the one for the electric seats, same amp and relay and it still does not work.

View 1 Replies2009 Prius all windows stopped working except the drivers window.I have checked fuses,window locks,etc...I heard that the problem is the "bcm" which is located under the drivers seat. One window was half way down when it stopped working so I took the door panel off and ran wires from my laptop power supply and ran it up. I am wondering if i could run a wire from the battery with the correct fuse on it to each window and bypass this '"bcm" thing altogether.
View 8 RepliesDriver side bulb does not work on low beam but does work on high. Replaced the halogen bulb but problem persists. The dealership checked the fuses which were fine. No further diagnostics done as I already spent more time at the dealership than anticipated.

View 10 RepliesMy 2007 SWB LS 460 with 22,000 miles on it has required replacement of the driver's side door hinges twice and the passenger front door hinges once. This is obviously of concern, since the original fix on the driver's side failed again within 8 months. The car has light single driver use. My dealer says that Lexus "knows about" the problem.
View 14 RepliesWe have been tolerating a bad squeak in the driver's side front door upon opening, closing (any type of swinging of the door). Dealer tried lubricating it with no success. They told us that they would order a new hinge and "hope" that resolves it. I am a little worried about this. Would you trust your dealer to remove and re-install the door or just live with the squeak?

question can a locksmith rekey or cut a key to fit the door.
My drivers side door will not open from the inside or outside.
View 4 RepliesLast week I had a strange issue after trying to install the HID lights. When driving, I noticed the autodown did not work, and the right side windows would not work from the driver door, only.
I brought the car to the vehicle and they said they did nothing, it worked when they got it. Sure enough, it was working fine when I picked it up and ever since then.
After they installed the spoiler, I noticed the same exact thing! Now putting 2 and 2 together, when I installed the HID lights, I had to remove the battery to mount the ballast and didn't think anything of it. When they installed the spoiler, they also had to disconnect and reconnect the battery.
Possibly something about reconnecting the battery is causing issues with the Auto window switch, and the window control to the right side, from the driver door.
Lately when I first start up and all the lights on the dash come on I see the triangle with the exclamation point (I don't remember seeing this before). It goes off when the rest of the warning lights go off. Today I backed the car out of the garage and put it in park and turned it off. When I opened the dirver door it beeped, beeped, beeped (like it was backing up). I shut the door and opened it again and it beeped again. I got out and locked it and went in the house. I went back out and unlocked it and opened the passenger door and it didn't beep anymore. I haven't tried the driver door yet.
View 4 RepliesI have a Prius 2007 with smart key, the problem is the driver's door does not unlock while touching the handle sensor pad. I works perfectly with the other door and with the hatch one. The interior light turns on when I get close to the driver's door which means that it's not the proximity sensor.
It stopped working like a year ago, the weird thing that last winter and during the snow time exactly it worked like there is no problem at all! After that when the weather got better it stopped working again! Is it something related to temperature/humidity? or it was just like a one off happened by chance at that time?
Is there a way to diagnose the touch pad sensor and fixing it?
I have been noticing this problem more frequently. It's been about 2 months that I noticed the car is doing this.
I would typically touch the door handle to lock the car, (hear the beep) and sometimes I use the remote at a distance to make sure I did not forget to lock it. But after I return to the car, I usually go to the trunk, to put away my briefcase, (without pressing any button). After closing the trunk, and going to the driver side passenger door(its unlocked) (no beeping sound or anything)
I have made sure several times (clicking the button several times) that I indeed locked the car. but it's unlocked. I have tested the auto lock feature on my car (locking, then unlocking without opening doors, yes it automatically locks the doors after 60 seconds).
I recently got a used 2007 prius as my first car; Unfortunately today the drivers side lock has stopped working. when trying to use the smart unlock, the Prius would beep many times, and the drivers door would not unlock (or lock for that matter). After getting into the car (with the mini key) I noticed that the inner lock button does not lock or unlock that door either.
All other doors function normally. The lock can be manually operated, so it's probably not mechanical.
