Previous thread (with new subject title) on my 06 Prius losing steering and brakes while driving with multiple errors (red triangle, battery, etc.) while braking on steep down hill section of hwy 17 (mountain road). Took car to dealer but dealer could not find the root cause.

I got the Check Engine/VSC/Triangle of Death errors yesterday. Autozone reports it is P0A80 (replace Hybrid battery) though no additional details reported.
I'm the original owner, and after some reading suspect it could be something else because:
1. In 8 years, the starter battery has never been replaced.
2. For about two months, the throttle has been hesitating when first accelerating (within first five minutes of turning it on). Yes, it is the hot summer months (though mild compared to previous summers). And the hesitation occurs even in the morning before things really heat up. This is definitely even worse after the error lights came on.
I've seen recommendations to replace the starter battery first. And other recommendations for "throttle body cleaning." I'm not a mechanic, but obviously would hate to have the hybrid pack replaced if it is something else.

..few days later having some problems: red triangle, vsc, car with exclamation point. Took the car to toyota and scan came back with codes p0a08 and p0a09. Toyota diagnoses as needing a new inverter converter. However, the indicator lights are very intermittent and the car shows no real symptoms. I should mention the HV battery and 12v battery are brand new. Does this seem right needing a new inverter converter? Could it be something more simple like wiring/harness to converter?

I have a 2006 prius with 129,000 miles,,i was driving to work in the moring and the hybrid system light came on. So after work went to a friends house to check the code and it has 2 codes.... First one is p0a08 and the second code p3108. Before this happened 2 months ago it had the same problem, a/c stop blowing cold . Park my car for a 3 hours. And every thing was back to normal...but this time light is on and no a/c.......

My 2006 prius has the Master warning light(red) and the braking system light (Yellow) on while I am driving, and I went to the dealer.
The technician told me that he could not verify any warning lights ON at that moment, and he performed health and diagnostic checks on it. He inspected connection at auxiliary battery and junction box 1. All checked OK at this time. No repairs recommended at this time.
However, the master warning light came on when I pick up the vehicle. The dealer told me that they will inspect it again tomorrow. And they found that there a P0A08 error code. They suggested me to replace the hybrid converter/inverter.. My car can still drive while the lights ON.

I have a Toyota Prius (2010), and the car has run for about 2800000 kilometers. One day when a was driving my Prius the engine light suddenly get on. So I went to a car car mechanic, he checked the car and told me there was an error code (error code: P0401, exhaust problem (exhaust recirculation flow).
So I bought a liquid that I put in the gas tank, the liquid would clean the exhaust pipe, but the engine light was still on. The engine light is usually on at least 2 weeks, then disappear for about 2 days and come back in two weeks…The car is driving normally without any problems.

My car has been fine with no changes besides tires last week, its a 2006 Prius and yesterday I got lights on my dash, went to auto zone for a read out and got an HV error code. I was wondering what is the most affordable route for my car to get repaired. I don't notice any mpg differences and everything still charges and recharges as if the errors don't exist.

Its a 2009 Prius with about 75K miles on it. I have scangauge on the dash as well as mini-VCI. It is setting PO456 code time after time. I reset it, but it comes back in about 50 mils of driving. Its not the gas cap, I turn it until it clicks every time. Something is wrong with evaporative emissions system, which I wouldn't care about, except it might mask some other fault code that is more serious, as it keeps check eng. light on all the time.

I was driving home the other day and my CEL came on... I checked the gas cap and waited a few days to see if it cleared. When it didn't clear I had the codes read and it came back with 3 instances of P0505.

In the last four months, I have been getting intermittent error code P0011 on my 2008 prius. I notice that it comes usually when I am going up/down a major hill or going really fast.

Installed Rebuilt Hybrid Battery AND New 12v Yesterday. Worked great until just now. Got the cool Red Triangle and VSC... hooked up to that Cool code machine and got the P0AAC (Hybrid Battery Pack Air Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit).
What is this exactly and what should I do? If it's a simple fix, I'm sure I can do it with my dad ... after all, I did take and reinstall the battery myself. Also, is it going to hurt my car if I drive on it with this issue?
Car is 06 and has 211K miles.

I have a 2005 Prius with almost 244,000 mile and about a week and a half ago the check engine light came on. I went to an Advanced Auto and had them read the code for me, which came back with a P0505 error code. I have read several things on web that this code is a Idle Air Controller related.
I also have read that this could be to a loose or bad PCV valve, an air leak in the vacuum lines, throttle motor shaft might be binding, or a failed engine ECM.
The car runs and idle just fine, no stalling or a rough idling. The only problem that is obvious is that when the car is warm and I come to a stop or put in park, the motor will not shut off.
Which one of these would cause this to happen? Or could this be due to a MAF sensor that needs cleaned or replaced?

Just picked up a 2005 with 146k and full Toyota service history, although seems a steering recall was not done. Will run it to the dealer today to check. I need to decide a.s.a.p. if I am keeping the car or not (I know the seller, he will take it back)
Anyway to cut a long story short, two questions.
1) Car had P3190 and P0420 when I got it. Seller reset, drove home and within 5 minutes on the road the CEL was back on. Checked the codes at home and see only a P0420. Much to worry about? Seems this might be big (Cat) or small (O2). Car getting great mileage - 60mpg at 60mph and it seems to be running great. Should I worry or forget about it? Note I am in Florida with no inspections.

I have a 2004 Prius with 80k miles. Always has been a workhorse. Recently had a bad cell in the HV battery. Battery rebuilt with new cell and now works great.
Now it runs about 20 miles and then displays dash lights of red triangle and small exclamation (brake?) and VSC.
I took it to Advance Auto and their scanner reads C1310 'Malfunction in HV system'.
I actually replaced the entire HV battery again with the battery from my friend's car, and the 12V battery too, but no luck. Same error.
If i disconnect the 12v battery for a while, it will clear the code and the car runs fine for about 20 miles and then dash lights come on again.
Car runs perfectly, over 50mpg even with the dash lit up. What that code is?

I have a 2006 prius whose check engine light just came on 1 hour ago. I had it diagnosed and it is giving me the p1121 code, or the coolant flow control valve. I checked the coolant level and it was very low. I added fluid, but the CEL is still on. I have to make an 11 hour trip tomorrow.

I took my 2006 in for its 50,000 mile oil change today, and I was told I had the following codes related to the transmission and the park/neutral switch:
P0852 (System: Hybrid Control; shown as "hist," presumably historical)
C2315 (System: Transmission Control; shown as "curr," presumably current)
My car is running fine, and none of the dashboard lights have indicated any problem.

My car was working fine except for occasional no dash lights. Unfortunately where my dash lights don't work sometimes I can't see my gas gauge and I ran out of gas today. I manage to make it to the gas station on battery power I presume. Filled the tank up with 11 gallons and the car seemed to work fine for the remainder of my trip(about 5 miles). So I parked at my destination and went inside for 30 minutes and then I went back out and started the car. I attempted to clear the out of gas error code and all of a sudden a whole Christmas trees of lights popped on my dash. I rescanned and these codes were read out

History : I had the coolant pump inverter changed 2-3 months ago by a mechanic and hybrid battery and battery ecu changed 2 years ago by myself.

So I bought a used 2005 Prius back in August it had 88,000 miles on it and was out of warranty. But I had a full inspection on it and the car was in great shape. Well, after a few months of driving, I got the P0420 error. I took it into my mechanic who cleared the code and told me to call him if it came back on. It came back on, then I cleared it myself, and it came back on again. So it was confirmed that I had a bad catalytic converter.

So I changed my spark plugs, due to an error code saying p0301 which means cylinder one misfiring. I reset the engine light disconnecting the negative battery terminal. Once it reset it ran rough for a few miles. I put about 50 miles on it and it seems better.
