Where the oil pressure sending unit is located? And could that be the cause of your low oil pressure when you still have almost full oil on dip stick?

View 6 Replies2002 jetta GLS 2.0 ... I am looking to change my oil pressure sender/switch but I cannot locate it, my oil light blinks every now and then, I was told the senders go bad often and to try replacing it, I have no oil leaks, just changed the oil and new filter. I also have noticed that when I turn on the car in the morning, while idle is fine, as soon as i pull off there is some blue smoke trail, only in the morning when i pull off, does not happen again, why that could be?
View 5 RepliesSo I was checking my engine oil and I saw the right side back part of the engine was oily , It seems like oil is slowly weeping out of the oil pressure sender/switch unit, Should I order a new sender or just take it out place some blue loctite and put it back in?

View 2 RepliesWill the oil pressure switch (sending unit) on my E series van be in the same location as on an F series truck even though the van's oil filter is under the engine instead of on top? I'm referring to the single wire sender for the dash gauge.
View 2 RepliesI just purchased a 2008 Prius and love it but I'm having the dreaded XM signal dropout. I would like to move the antenna from the from dash to the roof behind the regular antenna. I'm having trouble locating the XM radio unit. I heard XM unit is under the driver's seat. The unit under my driver seat is labeled 'navigation'. Is this the same unit as the XM radio?

View 7 RepliesLooking for the low pressure switch, (back towards fire wall, black cap on it passenger side) I think I found it, but when I hook up the AC pro that gauge doesn't register any psi, when I hooked up same AC pro to our Acura TL the gauge registered and I was a little down so I added some In.
So any tips on what's up? Wife's car blows cold air just wanted to see where it's at and if I need to check for leaks or just add some 134a ...
Where is it. Probably under some shroud, but before I start taking things off, where it is from the perspective of standing in front of the grill.
View 2 RepliesWhat is the location of the amp for the JBL head unit? Is it directly behind the unit in the dash or someplace else? Someone said it's underneath the passenger seat, but I don't see anything there.

View 1 Repliesknow where the Oil Pressure Sending Unit is located on a 2011 Corolla. I am planning on taping into that so that I can attach a bypass oil filter that will slow filter the oil down to 2 microns. Although in doing that, I will not ever have to change the oil again, but only change out the filters and top the oil off. I will occasionally need to send in an oil sample to make sure that there is no degradation in the oil.
View 5 RepliesThe oil pressure gauge is dancing on my 4.2L '99 Ford E-150 (V-6) and at times the oil light comes on but there's no rattling or other signs of oil deficiency in the engine. I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the sending unit and did an oil change today but for the life of me couldn't find where it's located. I looked all around the filter when I replaced it but to no avail. The Haynes manual and internet pics I find are not recognizable parts in them to reference. I can't tell if they're looking under the car, on top, driver's side etc.
View 11 RepliesLooking for a "small" sending unit that works with an electrical gauge. When I mean small I'm talking smaller than 2 inch diameter and 3.25 inches long.
I have a sending unit with those dimensions and would like something more compact if at all possible. The range needed would be 0-100psi.
I bought a 2005 Prius base model with under 77K mi. A month after owning it, and about the time the weather got hot enough to need AC, I started hearing a squeaky moan (ish) noise coming from the ac unit when switching it on or off.
I took it in to the Nissan dealership and they listened and ID'd the noise as the "blender", and told me it was nothing to be concerned about (I do not believe that) and it's just a normal blender noise for an 11 year old car.
I think they didn't want to deal with it at all. (not that I'd want to spend the money, either, because so far the AC is working fine, but I can't shake the concept that it shouldn't be making that sort of noise at all (it wasn't there when I bought it) . I think it IS something that will lead to needing some sort of repair. Should I bring it somewhere else once my warranty is up?
What I am talking about? Should I be worried about this sound? (which seems to be getting ever so slightly louder each time).
I first noticed a strange noise coming from the engine compartment a day ago. I had left the car to sit in the sun for a few hours. When I got in the A/C was set to on and the system was on auto. I tested to see if the noise went away when I turned off the A/C and it did. I turned it back on and it returned. I know the A/C operates at different speeds based upon cooling needs and that it can get sort of noisy but I didn't think that it could/should get this loud. The system seems to begin working quickly and it does seem to put out cold air. If the noise is unusual do you think that it indicates another underlying problem in the A/C system?
Just to clarify, the ICE is not running in the video. The cabin fan is set to low and the temperature is set to low. The person in the car presses the A/C button and the cooling fans in the engine compartment come on as well as the A/C unit. The sound gets louder a few seconds in. Here is the link to the recording I made of the sound.
1993 TransSport 3.8: Where the heck is the oil pressure sending unit, and what is the best way to access it? What size of OPSU socket does it take; 1", 1 & 1/16", or 1 & 3/16". Do I need the 3/8" or 1/2" drive; extra deep or other wise? The van has a gauge on the dash.
