Prius (2004-09) :: No Longer Automatically Opens

Yesterday, I took my Prius to a parking lot. I normally just give them my entire key fob, however because the guy said he might be leaving early - he had me take the emergency key and he placed the smart key part under the mat so I could unlock the car.
However, now when I walk up to my car, it no longer automatically opens. And when I just to start my car without the key in the holder, it doesn't.
Did he do something funny? Do I need to reset anything? Do I need to yell at the valet guy?!

A few days ago the 12V battery of my Prius II went flat. We got the car to start by connecting it with the 12V battery of another car.
Since then we have got a problem when we raise the front glass on the driver side automatically: if we trigger it so that it automatically goes all the way to the top it will no longer stop at the highest position. It will instead raise to the top, then go back down and stop at the middle.
We can still raise the glass by manually using the button and stopping manually at the right moment.
I am guessing that the car does not "remember" what is the correct "highest position" of the glass, and that this memory was lost because of the battery discharge. Any way to "teach" this to the car again ?

Yesterday for the first time my sunroof suddenly opens automatically while driving, didn't touch anything.. Couldn't close it then, buttons didn't work for 10 minutes before finally works. I'll take it to the dealer monday morning...

I worked with my buddy troubleshoot and remove a faulty fuel pump. He received it a week or so later and did the install himself. After this, he states that while pumping gas at the gas station the nozzle no longer cuts off automatically when full causing overflow. He says this has happened at different stations and different pumps. I told him to go double check connections and that everything was sealed. I am wondering what could be causing it..

After getting my car washed on Friday I noticed that the key fob no longer opens the passenger door. It used to be that pressing the unlock button twice would open both doors. Is it possible that some combination of buttons or something caused this to stop working? The button in the door unlocks the passenger door just fine.

Since yesterday I have no longer been able to stream Pandora. When I try to load Pandora it just buffers endlessly, finally saying Pandora was unable to load. So tried to just stream it off my phone through BT, Pandora failed to load on my phone. Thought maybe the app on my phone broke, but it loads on my phone just fine when not synced to my car.

License plate light comes on when any door opens? it fades out a little after it's shut. stays on for a minute or so. (like interior lights would if i had the door dome switch on).
Any way to turn this license plate light off for this function? stays on if the hatch is open, or any door. I car camp a lot and crack the hatch for air. license plate light stays on.
Also the lower door lights, when they are individually open. I'd like them to not come on. Yes I could just remove those bulbs.
I had installed led lights on the whole car/ every bulb inside and out. even fog lights. i didn't replace the hid headlights, though I'd like to.

When approaching the car from any direction, if I am within a couple of feet of a door, the door automatically unlocks. It's wicked cool and I love that it does this but....I don't think it's supposed to.
I only have the only FOB that works (I have another but either the battery is dead or the fob is dead) so I can't test to see if it does it with both.
,I looked through the owners manual, and searched Google but I don't see anything saying this is something that is supposed to happen. The doors don't lock automatically, and if I press the door button to lock the car it doesn't unlock again. It only seems to unlock if I walk up to it locked and stand there for a few seconds.

The Prius engine turns on/off automatically, so miles driven do not correlate to "Engine" miles. Thus, it makes sense to me that somewhere there should be access to "Engine hours". My diesel truck even offers this feature. Does this data is recorded and available??

Title sums up the whole post. My Prius tends to use a bit of oil, I don't know the exact numbers just that it can't go without a couple top-offs between 10k oil changes. As much as I love this car it's because of that fact it will be sold after it's paid off as I've never seen a car that uses oil and yet drips none onto the ground.
Anyways it's because of its oil consumption and me not being used to having a car that needs its hood opened between oil changes that I've worried and wondered if I forgot to check it and it gets low enough to make the oil pressure drop will the hybrid system turn the engine off assuming I'm going slow enough for it to do so? I understand if I'm going over ~40mph the engine has to be spinning to prevent MG1 from over-revving.
So lets say I'm doing 65 on the interstate and the triangle lights up then I slow down and come to a stop will it prevent the engine from turning back on, or I'm sitting at a light and the engine is running because the heater is on then the oil pressure drops will it prioritize protecting the engine over the heater? Or is it like a typical car it will warn me but it's up to me to stop the car and turn the engine off as fast as I can to lessen the damage that is being done?

My 2005 Prius is 6 and a half years old and I have encountered a problem with an outside alarm that is one beep about 2 seconds long. I have checked my manual and I have found two possibilities, but, they don't seem to apply. Last week was the first time I had to go in and reset my maintenance needed reminder because my service station forgot to reset it after the last oil change. I am afraid in the severel attempts to do this I might have reset something else as well!
The outside 2 second beep occurs when the car is in my garage and the car is NOT locked. It also only occurs if I am outside of the car and have the key fob with me. It happens with either key fob near the car. If I lock the car I don't have a problem. It is as if everytime I come near the car with my key fob that it is reminding me that the car is unlocked.

Hard to put it all in a title. I have 149K miles on our 2009. The warranty expires in 1000 miles. I've noticed recently that I can no longer engage the ev mode with the ev mod. I always get a "cannot change into eve mode" message on the MFD. It used to be that I could do it before the engine started or after all warm up cycles were complete.
Now, when first powering on, ev mode won't engage before engine start and there is no MFD message. After warm up is complete, the message appears on the MFD whenever I try to change to EV mode.

So my auxiliary battery started dying and I had to jump start it when it was dead. One dark morning I reversed the cables on my wife's car when jumping it. The portion on the Prius that I had hooked up the cables to started glowing. I unhooked them, and when I got inside my car I noticed several warning lights on (ABS, etc). Once I got the car started I drove to work, but the brakes were no longer working correctly, and if I hit them hard they would lock up and I would skid, with tons of white smoke from the tires. I took the car to Toyota, but they wanted $550 to replace the auxiliary battery and run a diagnosis. They said they could not run any computer tests as the car's auxiliary batter was too low.
So I ordered the battery. In the meantime, the brakes wore down to metal on metal on the front driver's side. I took the car to Firestone and they wanted $850 to replace the pad, rotor, and caliber, which they said was stuck. I then put the new auxiliary battery in the car myself (it was relatively easy) and took it to Toyota. They said the ABS relay needed to be replaced. After waiting two days for the part to come in, I then get informed that the skid control ECU needs to be replaced, at which point they will "recheck as necessary with diagnosis." After doing some googling, there is some indication that the problem might not be the skid control ECU.

The visor no longer rotates past the straight down position toward the windshield. It works fine rotating to the side window and down from its storage position to the straight down position. The passenger visor still works properly. Any fix or should I just order a new visor from the dealer?

My daughter texted me today to inform me that her gas gauge indicator no longer reliably displays the fuel level. She's filled it up 3 times this week and the gauge still shows 1 bar. There are no other display anomalies: the speedo and other indicators appear to be normal. This 2008 has never had the combo meter changed and it's out of warranty since it's a salvage title.

This problem began a short while ago. It started with the keyfob not locking the left (driver) door from the outside and progressed into not locking the left door with the inside automatic switch. Now the left back door will no longer lock with the either device. I think I have narrowed it down to the switch or the door solenoid, but I am lost on the possible problem in all honesty.

So my 04 GLS Jetta has had this issue for a while and I would like to find out why. If I pull the button for the trunk in the drivers door or press the button my key to open the trunk, nothing happens. The lights will flash when I press the button on the key but no sound comes from the trunk. Same goes for the trunk release button in the door. No sound. The only way I can open the trunk is to use the actual key and while I turn the key, I have to press down on the trunk. Turning the key alone will not open the trunk. It only opens when I press down on the trunk and turn the key.
Is this normal if the trunk release motor on the trunk goes out? I also have had the trunk open and did the button in the door and the key with nothing happening. How to troubleshoot this?

I have a 2004 Prius. Just rolled 120k today, still running like a champ, but I started having this weird issue. Whenever I walk up to the car, it opens by itself.I dont even have to put my hand on the door handle, I just get close to the drivers door and it opens, of course with the smart key in my pocket. Its only the drivers door as well. I find this a little weird plus its hard to lock the door with the black square because if I don't run out of range...it unlocks.

When I open the hatch on my new Gen4 Prius, the hatch door goes so high that when the garage door is open (i.e., rolled up overhead rather than behind the car), the hatch door hits the garage door. I'm worried that this will both damage the Prius's paint job and make a mark on the door.
Is there a way to adjust how high the hatch door goes when it opens? The only alternative I can think of is to put some padding the garage door and/or the edge of the hatch door -- which doesn't seem like a satisfactory solution.

I just bought a new Prius V and love it. The only think that I'm annoyed about is the car beeps when I have the lights on and the drivers door open. Given that the lights are going to go off in 30 seconds anyway this beeping isn't a useful reminder of anything.
I have tried changing the auto off timer to 0 and everything works like I would expect. When I open the door the lights immediately go off and there is no beeping. However, while getting out of my dark garage at night having the lights stay on for a while would be useful.
