I have an 04 and the power door locks will not work. The hatch does lock and unlock but everything else just stares at me staring at it. When the fob or inside switches are used I can hear a relay clicking inside the Body Ecu / Fuse Box. I am thinking that is the problem as all fuses are good.
View 10 Replieson my 04 supercab f150. one moment door locks work, the next nothing. started this weekend. its a bone stock truck with 128000 miles. sometimes work sometimes don't. have wiggled harness and connections outside the door. worked fine, pulled it out of the shop and parked it now not working again.
View 1 RepliesI just purchased a 2005 F150 (4.6L / 4 door). The lot I purchased it from had picked it up at auction. Tell-Tell signs indicate it was a repo. (Only one key, no fobs, locking fuel filler door jimmied and spring removed, scratches on upper corner of driver's side door and rubber bent back.
The power locks switch on arm rest works on all doors except driver's. The drivers door does lock and unlock manually. I am wanting a good hypothesis before I begin tearing into the door panel.
If the latching mechanism was damaged, it wouldn't lock manually, right? If the electronics were damaged the other doors wouldn't work right? So, my hypothesis is the actuator on driver's door. Do I start searching for/locating possible replacement parts?
I've noticed that when I lock the truck, the rear hatch stays locked most of the time. I have to manually lock it with the key if I want my truck to be secure. When it does work, it doesn't sound weak. When it doesn't, it's silent. Where should I start looking?
View 9 RepliesOk, I'm bit confused with how this remote works and how the factory set up is suppose to be.
1. Drove the car at night with light on "on"
2. Got out, turn the lights off
3. close the door
4. try to open the hatch, realized it was locked, so press the "open" button and i see my headlight turning back on?
I thought its suppose to stay off? I hate for the lights to turn on and off all the time when I press the switch.
When its suppose to turn on? I thought the light stays off when the light switch is on "off" position.
We have a 07 wagon, and the rear hatch intermittently works at this time. When it doesn't operate correctly does it throw a code to the computer at all that is stored, or is it the old "it better not work when it goes to the shop" kind of thing?
View 2 RepliesAs my title explains I've been having some strange electrical glitches that are annoying me. I checked the Door Fuse and it's fine. I was going to pull the + Terminal on the battery for 15minutes to try and reset the ECU to see if that fixes this bug. It's pretty strange and I'd like to fix it.
Also, I'm I right about just pulling the + terminal on the Battery to reset ECU? I did this once before a while ago but don't remember. I just remember I didn't have to unlock the stereo or anything which I've seen mentioned can happen after a power cycle.
I tried to open my rear hatch yesterday, and it was a bit sticky. I think the plastic was just weak (cold & uv exposure?)
View 7 RepliesI need to replace these as they are weakening. Can I get replacements at my FLAPS or are they a Toyota-only item? I'm asking because on another vehicle, I could not get the strut from a FLAPS due to the length not being a standard length with the proper connectors.

View 9 RepliesThe hatchback on my 2005 prius wont open from the outside. It will open from the inside. It will unlock all of the doors when I lift up on the handle. I've tried looking for the actuator. Where it is located? I have the panel off of the inside of the hatchback. Wires look OK.

The power Tailgate window works but the sunroof doesn't and i noticed tonight that the button for the tailgate window is illuminated green signifying it has power but the sunroof button right next to it is not illuminated. I just bought the truck yesterday and knew that the sunroof didn't work. i figured i could fix it i just am not sure where to start yet.
It looks like the sunroof might have leaked before and so the previous owner sealed it with silicone from the roof of the truck. i removed the silicone and made the sunroof free to open and close but i still have the issue that there is no power to the sunroof. i was thinking maybe the motor burned out because it couldn't move and that someone had tried to open it while it was glued shut, but that still doesn't explain the light not coming on.
I have a 2004 F250 Super duty that had a battery die (I left the keys in the ignition switched on overnight) and after jumping the battery off the vehicle started up but now I have no power door lock or window functions. Any reason a dead battery issue might affect the power locks and windows?

View 3 RepliesProblem: I left a dome light while in the airport parking lot when I went on week long trip. When I returned the 12V battery was dead.
Question: How do you get to the 12v battery in the rear of the car? Rear hatch will not open without power.Using the key to get in the drivers door, I had to get someone to crawl over the back seat and connect cables to jump start the car.
What am I missing? Is there a better way to jump start the car? Is there another way to open the rear hatch without the 12v battery power?
Is there a way to lock all five doors (4 passenger doors and hatch) without using the smart key OR the keyfob? See, I'm an avid backpacker, so I like to leave the SKS off when I'm going out for 5-8 nights. My keyfob is broken, however, such that the lock and unlock buttons don't work, but the smartkey does. So with the smartkey off, I can manually lock the 4 passenger doors, but the hatch is still accessible. How I can lock all five doors without using the smartkey or the keyfob?
View 4 RepliesI am owning 2008 Prius 2nd gen car since last may 2012, 2 days before when i was stooped and restarting he car my main display screen wont work and touch screen wont work either. after that i reset the car and kept it for 5 minutes. it works after the reset and went on to 260Km. today morning when i start the car same problem appears and cannot fix it like last time by during the resetting the system.

View 2 RepliesMy girlfriend has a 2006 prius with two fobs, one fob works just fine opens/closes doors and red led illuminates, the other fob does not; I have replaced the cr 2032 battery, and verified that the battery works with a voltmeter. no battery energizes this fob as determined by depressing the membrane switches and NOT seeing any red led illumination. I could possibly fix the circuit if I could separate the two plastic housings.
View 8 RepliesThe rear spoiler on my 2005 has always had a bit of "flex" to it and I've always been careful not to use it to open or close the hatch. Unfortunately, I can't be sure that others not do that as it really is the place someone would think to grab to close the hatch.
Anyway, the other day I noticed that the spoiler had picked up a nasty rattle whenever the hatch was closed. Looking from the outside in I saw that there appeared to be two plastic fasteners (one on each end) that held the spoiler in place. If I pressed down on one side the other side popped up and vice versa. I was able to get the spoiler back to where it originally was (loose but no real rattle).
The car has never been in an accident and the spoiler doesn't appear to be bent in anyway...it just seems as if the fasteners aren't holding it down as tightly as they should. Is this the norm? Should I replace the fasteners and any instructions on how to do it?
