Apr 10, 2012
The front windshield washer is not working. I can hear the pump running but no fluid comes out. The rear washer works fine.

View 2 RepliesWhen I tried to spray fluid into front windshield fluid is coming out very very very little on left and right side wipers, do I need to add any liquid or any problem with that..?
View 9 RepliesI went to use my windshield washer the other day and no spray came out. The wipers did operate normally, which left me almost unable to see out of the now streaked and dirty windshield.
When I looked under the hood, the reservoir was very low. When I filled it today, it began leaking almost immediately. I crawled underneath and removed some of the plastic underbodies, but could not find where it was coming from. I guess it could be rodents chewing the hoses.
I just bought a 1995 S10 4x4 for my son and the windshield washer pump is not working. It doesn't make a sound and I have measured that no voltage is going to the hot side of the harness going to the pump. The ground tested fine. It was also having wipers issues where they stopped at random places when turned off and the timing was screwy. I removed and resoldered the wiper pulse board and cleaned up the contacts. Wipers are good, but still no squirter.
View 2 RepliesJust bought a 2003 Passat wagon. The rear windshield washer wasn't working: when I used it, the fluid would stream straight back toward the car behind me. Fun for me, but other drivers were not so impressed.
I realized I was missing the plastic cap piece, so I ordered one and installed it. But now the stream just sort of shoots into the cap, and doesn't get on the window at all. I'm not sure if I'm missing another piece or what? The "nozzle" that's on there points straight back, but I don't see how this cap is supposed to "redirect" the flow.
My car is at 63000 miles and the windshield washer just stopped working and wondering if this is covered by warranty? when i press the lever little bit of liquid squirts out and nothing and when i press the lever again all i hear is the motor spinning. Also if this is not covered by warranty how much do you think the dealer will charge to have this fixed?
View 11 RepliesWhen the temperature drops below about 30 degrees f, the windshield washer won't spray. I am using washer fluid so I don't think that it is freeing or that there is any water in the lines. I read somewhere that this might be a defective motor, part number 98510-26100.
View 1 RepliesWindshield washer nozzle stop working? Is there an easy way to unclog it or does it need to be replaced?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2006 Solara and overnight the windshield washer pump stopped working. I thought the problem was no washer fluid, filled it, and nothing. I checked the hose near the hood and nothing came out. The motor isn't humming like it is trying to pump, so I checked the fuse (I think I checked the right one, not sure, it was a 15a) and it appeared to be good. I checked the wires going to the pump with a multimeter and didn't get power, so is there any other "secret" fuse I am missing. I know on an older car I had, the fuses were sometimes mixed with other items and not labeled.
View 11 RepliesI can't find the fuse from the manual. Is it under another name?
View 8 RepliesI have a 2005 F-250 6.0 Powerstroke.
My washer fluid pump is not working, it was a few weeks ago but now it is broken. The Owner's Manual only has the listing fuse 33 for "cluster, 4x4, wipers". It looks like some of the older models have an actual fuse for the "washer fluid pump". I checked fuse 33 under the dash and it is ok. What fuse controls the washer fluid pump?
The pump does not make noise when activated, so I'm starting at the fuse but I don't know what the hell is going on.
My new to me, 2005 F-250 windshield washer nozzles don't work. I have replaced the windshield washer pump, cleaned out the washer fluid container and rubber filter screen, blew air through the lines and the passenger side nozzle barely sprays and the driver side nozzle does nothing at all. I guess I have clogged nozzles. What is the part number or place you bought them? Looked online and everything I can find is so generic.

View 8 RepliesI have a 2010 Prius and now is cold here 20-30F. So, i filled up with tinter wash fluid the bottle and today when i entered my card was 25F and i can spray out washer fluid on back window but on front window it seems it is not working. It can't be frozen because under the hood i removed hose from one connection and it is not spraying also when it is removed as i thought that the problem can be nozzles, but no. Or maybe is a pump problem? So we have two pumps on 2010 Prius for washing windows(one pump for front windows and one pump for rear windows? or there is a common one? Because there may left some water after i filled up with wash fluid. Yesterday it was working even in front and even on back. Today after i left car for two hours in underground Mall Parking i thought it will work when i'll come, but surprise, it wasn't working and there was 42F in parking.

So, I filled up with tinter wash fluid the bottle and today when i entered my card was 25F and i can spry out washer fluid on back window but on the front window, it seems it is not working? It can be frozen because of low quality fluid? then why it sprays on back? Or maybe is a pump problem? But the back spray is still working? So, what do you think? Can I have a pump problem? Does Prius have two pumps for washing windows?
View 3 Replies(04 FX4)... having issues with your windshield washer? The next to last time I used it, I got a dribble, so I figured that I needed fluid...added more fluid, but it was still half full, I pressed the button, I heard noise, probably the pump. but no fluid. Could it be something as simple as a clog? I could tear it apart.
View 12 RepliesNoticed that the windshield washer fluid level is ALWAYS low, needing significant amount to refill, even when not used? I'm not talking weeks or months, so that evaporation could be the cause, but rather DAYS. No evidence of leaks under vehicle, either. What could do this?
View 18 RepliesMy 2004 Phaeton has apparently developed a leak with the windshield washer fluid resivoir. Last week the check light came on for low washer fluid. I filled it and now a week later it's on again.
Is there anything in particular that I need to check? I thought I recalled reading about an issue concerning this but I've not found it.
The windshield washers of 2014 Prius v (lowercase v for the Prius v) didn't work all winter if the temp was +20F or less. I'm using -30F or -40F washer fluid. I use the same fluid in my 1995 Previa, and its washers worked all winter. A friend has a 2014 Prius, which didn't have any washer problems.
I tried pouring warm water over the nozzles, but they're location makes it difficult to reach them. Is it the nozzles or is it the rubber hose that feeds them from the reservoir?
Curios problem with my car. When I spray washer fluid quickly the wipers do not start. I can literally empty litres of fluid on the windshield and they still will not activate. Now on other cars I have had you can play chicken and pull quickly on the lever and this I can do a off a couple of times without activating the wipers but not constantly. I had it in for service and the mechanic said he has never seen this problem before and does not even know how to fix it. It does get annoying that you have to waste a lot more fluid to activate the wipers "auto" function by holding it on a few seconds longer than needed.
View 7 RepliesMy 2004 Caravan lost power to windshield washer motor and headlights, after checking under fuse box, I swapped over the relay marked headlights washer , still nothing. I disconnected the power module at the front of the fuse box by removing four torx head screws. Removed it by rocking it a it out towards the front of the van. I cleaned the terminals and replaced it. Seems to have solved the problem .
