Out of the blue the main screen started to flash. "Synergy hybrid drive" logo shows up, then screen goes off (every 1-2 seconds). I've searched prius chat/google and could not find any useful info.

View 7 RepliesI am due to make a 400 mile round trip business trip today. Go out and start the car, and the screen display is black. The MFD. None of the buttons on it work, either - I have the beep ON, no beep. I turned it off, waited about 1 minute and tried again, still nothing. Went for a short drive (took the dogs to the park where they can run), it was off for about 35 minutes. Still nothing for the short drive back home. I mean short, this is less than 2 miles one way.
I can still access the a/c and the radio from the steering wheel. I can see my speed, fuel etc, that is fine. It is just the display monitor. This came out of the blue, I have not noticed any issues at all.
I noticed today shortly before turning off the car that the screen was lagging. Sometimes there was not even response. Radio turned on and off ok, but screen was not showing it. It would then display (after several seconds) the info, display, and audio. However, when I clicked the Climate one, the MFD said, "Check the condition to the air conditioner." However, when I used the driver's controls, it worked okay.
I then turned off the car, and when I turned it back on, everything appeared to be normal. The screen was significantly lagging.
Might this be an issue with the air conditioning itself. I mostly run the A/C on full blast on the MAX cold (sometimes Auto (LO temp, HI fan)). Temperature in the output vent (left center one) after 5-10 minutes: 48 degrees moving. Outside temperature between 100 and 110, so it's pretty hot too.
How accurate is the mpg readout on that display screen on the Prius. How is it measured.

The 2nd hand multi-information display panel is from a 2004 RX330 and what are the socket behind the display panel meant for.

After coming back from a two week vacation, I tried to start my 2002 sedan toyota prius; and it would not start. The master warning light came on, and then on the screen, the third icon (the farthest right) was blinking in red, it was an outline of a car with an exclamation mark in the middle of it. It does the same thing each time I try to jump it. However, at the same time, after jumping it, the battery seems to be fine, meaning that the display and radio start up fine, but soon after cranking the key, the engine seems to shut off. I bought the car used, so I don't have an owners manual or anything of that sort.
View 1 RepliesRecently, (luckily after the kiddo took her driving test) the ABS light constantly flashes at a steady non- patterned flash. Other than it just continues to flash, nothing seems to be out of the ordinary. Once in awhile it will not flash from a restart, but lately it's flashing more than not when restarted. I had hoped it would flash a certain pattern in order to troubleshoot the error.
View 1 RepliesI had my 07 prius detailed today and it looks real nice BUT, I started it up afterwards and the touchscreen was in diagnostic mode and the warning lights on the dash were acting up. The warning lights seem to be OK now except that the tire pressure indicator flickers like it is partially shorted. The issue with the touch screen is that it alternates every 10-15 seconds between diagnostic mode and the regular display but only when the ICE is running. If I am just sitting in shutdown idle ( like at a stop light) it behaves fine.

-the odometer display flashes on and off, the warmer it is outside the less it stays on
-heater blower doesn't work when the switch is on number one position, works fine on other positions
-power mirrors don't work neither side
I just bought a Prius v. When I am driving the Prius v on highway, the dashboard display disappear without speed and all the dashboard indicators. It was pretty scary. Brought it to Toyota dealer and they said they cannot replicate the problem. The dashboard display come on and off. Sometimes when I drove through a tunnel, it seems to trigger it. It also happen on bright daylight driving too.
View 6 RepliesHad to get a replacement battery for my 04 GX470. The garage replaced mine with the same model. Turns out the model changed, poles were reversed and I hooked it up backwards. Realized I did something stupid so I took it back and got another replacement. It cranks over now but I have no display screen, radio, climate control, power windows, power seats, and I'm guessing more. I am guessing a few in my engine compartment as well as the drivers side kick. Thing is, not sure how to tell if the engine compartment fuses are blown or not.
View 7 RepliesWent to a meeting one evening last week with my 2010 Prius, everything working well. After the meeting we drove away and noticed that most of the dash display was "dark". Driving home and feeling a little gloom as I wondered what it might cost to fix the display problem.
I noticed the poster announcing the meeting we attended was laying on the dash and was pushed up to the display screen. I pulled the poster back an inch and the display came back on !! Pushed it forward and when it got within 1/2 inch of the display, it would blank out ??
It appears the dash display is some sort of bottom projection system to the display screen. Pushing anything up to the display screen blocks that bottom projection and blanks the screen.
Any way to see my iPhone 5 screen on the display of the car? I love the big screen mote than the tiny iPhone 5 screen.

To replace my cracked dashboard, I found to the scrapyard a RX330 but instead of the simply clock, it has a GPS screen, I would like to know if it's possible to install this screen on my Lexus? View 1 RepliesI went to turn my 2005 on today the normal startup screen came on then it went dark for about 5 secs then came on with the normal consumption display but with no readings. Also there is no radio memory and I can't see volume control or radio tuning. Any way to reset the system? Here is what I mean by no readings...

The Navigation touch screen does not work. I can still us controls on the steering wheel, bu the touch screen is dead. I am assuming that I just buy and install a new screen? Or could there be something else to trouble shoot?

View 12 RepliesI removed one of the cd's out of the dash unit and the nav display screen remains opened and won't close. I tried turning the vehicle off and on, nothing happened, so then I attempted to remove the 2nd cd that was in the changer and it slides out, but immediately slides back in.
