Will it drain the battery to leave the rear hatch open for extended time? i.e. for tailgating or camping (2008 Prius)

Prius (Gen 3) :: Leaving USB Plugged In With Car Off Cause Battery To Drain?
Just wondering if leaving the USB plugged in with the car is off drains the battery at all? Should I unplug it when I shut the car off or is it ok to just leave it plugged in?

I go over a mountain pass, to and from work. It is about a two mile up and down incline/decline. On several occasions while going up the pass,the gas motor has rapidly accelerated at a high rpm. I back off the gas pedal and check the 'battery indicator bars' and there are none. I then drive very slowly to the top of the pass and the batteries quickly recharge on the decline to a color of all light green bars, indicating a full charge. Same experience coming home. Once I do normal town driving, the bars settle around 'four or five blue bars.' Local dealer says there is on problem. I am driving at 55 mph when this happens.

I checked my rx350 battery health and it is good. Still I am having recurrent issues when battery dies. And needs a restart. It happened many times and last one just happened this morning and I have feeling that this is related to rear hatch door...let me explain what happened:
Yesterday evening I went for grocery shopping and opened the rear hatch door using my car key remote, kept the groceries and closed the rear hatch using the button on the bottom of rear hatch door. I drove back to home and parked the vehicle in the garage. This morning I opened the rear hatch again and closed it, drove it to a house one block away, returned home and parked the car.
When I tried to start 1 hour later, the battery had already died. So, I have a feeling that opening and closing the rear hatch door 3 times caused this battery drain.
Prius V :: 12V Battery Drain Due To Hatch Release Being Stuck?
As the title states. It seems like the hatch release button is sticking due to the melting rubber. Would this cause a parasitic drain on the 12v battery?

Problem: I left a dome light while in the airport parking lot when I went on week long trip. When I returned the 12V battery was dead.
Question: How do you get to the 12v battery in the rear of the car? Rear hatch will not open without power.Using the key to get in the drivers door, I had to get someone to crawl over the back seat and connect cables to jump start the car.
What am I missing? Is there a better way to jump start the car? Is there another way to open the rear hatch without the 12v battery power?

Have a slight clunk noise inside the back of their gen 2? I've taken apart all the paneling used foam tape to secure things and took apart the spare tire area etc and the clunk persists. I have had this happen before (and drove right to the dealer but it was fine when I got there) and it happened again today. Its a very hot day and I had forgot to turn off my AC and radio when I shut the car down. So I started it up put it in drive (or reverse) and it would just jump to neutral and the battery was drained (purple lines) because this had happened before I knew that if I held it in place and turned off the AC I could drive and be fine in a few minutes and that's what happened. Is it just because on a hot day it drains the battery too fast. Its a 2008 Prius with no other problems but this. Its just an annoying thing that makes me crazy.

How can I manually open the rear hatch in my 2004 passat w8 wagon? When I got the car it would not open with the remote, but it would unlock with the key. Wife went to the store and the hatch wouldn't unlock. Key just turns. Feels like it is not quite catching to open up the lock.
This has now caused the doors to not lock and windows to not roll down, and no interior lights. Keeps blowing fuse 14. So how do I get I the lock mechanism on the hatch to get it open? Bentley is on the way, but can't be here soon enough.

Disconnected battery and all the switches in the dash, including on/off in glove box. So that's what caused the problem. Now to fix it. I re-connected battery and all switches, bit hatch won't open with key switch or any switches in car (at door or in front dash). I did manual open and close without any result., the button in glove box is pushed in.

On my 04 'reg the rear hatch stopped operating suddenly. I tried the manual release etc and no go. I can hear the mechanism activate when I push on the hatch mounted release (sounds normal) but the door will not budge.

Actually its inconsistent. Many times with the car running and in park, I jump out to access the rear hatch. Sometimes it will open and sometimes it will not. When it doesn't open, I have to turn off the car and then the hatch opens.

Prius (Gen 2) :: 2008 Keyless Model - Hatch Would Not Open
I just picked my 2008 Prius up from the dealer after having 4 new tires put on, after a blowout. When I went to open the hatch to make sure my spare and tools were all put back, the hatch would not open. It's a keyless model and the doors all unlock when I put my hand underneath the handle and I can lock them with the black button but the hatch will not open. I manually opened the hatch, thinking maybe the technician got something stuck in the latch when he closed it but did not find anything to be there. Does it sound like the handle itself is bad or maybe an actuator? In my searches, I've found many cases where people have replaced the handle due to it "melting," but nothing similar to what I'm experiencing.
