I replaced my auxiliary battery yesterday and everything was working fine. This morning my driver side window will not close back up. All the other windows are working fine. I drive a 2008 Prius btw with roughly 50000 miles....
View 8 RepliesThe drivers windows when engaging the auto up will close then go back to it's previous position. I physically have to keep the button engaged for the window to close... Otherwise, it works...
View 2 RepliesI have a 2008 Prius, but my wife drives it. I think this problem has been going on a long time, but because my wife drives the car, I never noticed it. When I raise switch to raise the window on the driver side there is a little click after which the windows should roll up to the top and stop with out holding the window switch.
Mine does this, however it gets to the top and then drops back a little. This does not happen if you don't engage the automatic roll up feature.
I found a couple of threads that talked about window calibration, but I cannot find anything more than that.

Yesterday, the driver side window in my Passat (1.8T, year 1999) kind of "dropped", and wouldn't close now. When I try to close using the switch, I can hear as if a motor is rotating for a few seconds, but nothing happens. What might be the cause? Can it be fixed relatively easily without making a trip to the dealer?
View 1 RepliesReplaced the battery on my 07 the other day, and subsequently discovered my passenger side power window would not open or close from driver side control switch. Initially thought the worse of course, that I needed a new motor for the passenger side window. Then I tried the passenger side window switch and the window worked fine.
So now, I think that the switch for the passenger side window (on the driver's side) is bad, and I will need to replace the whole switch control module. Did a search and found the root cause and solution to the problem. Apparently, after replacing a battery, I needed to RESET the passenger side switch from the passenger side, by HOLDING the switch approx. 3 seconds after raising and lowering the window two times.
How do you activate the opening and closing of all the window from the driver side controls?
I had this working once before and for the life of me, I can't seem to get it working again. I went through the convenience menu in the mfd several times and I can't seem to find it in the manual.
Can getting an ecu update or tune remove this feature?
So once in a while, a full press (either up or down) on the drivers side window button does not cause the window to fully open or close fully as it should... I'm wondering if this is something (a "feature") I'm somehow activating and just don't know it, or what. If I roll the window all the way up (needing the hold the button up until the window is all the way up), it will then behave normally--a full press down, release, and the window will go all the way down. This just started in the last month or so...

View 1 RepliesMy '04 driver window would squeal when going up or down....dealer replaced entire window track/molding around door window opening. Fixed the squeal, but the new rubber molding looked like crap from wrinkle, stretching, etc.
Now, to today. My '07 is now doing the same squeal on both sides! I do not want 'new' trim/tracks installed because I'm convinced they can't do it like 'factory'. It's worse when it hot and sunny out...vs...rainy or dew.
My next step is to remove my door panels and 'q-tip' some clear silicone into the tracks on the window edges...as I believe the problem is simply 'dry rubber' which is rubbing the window edges. Rain or high humidity offers just enough 'lube' to prevent all but the slightest squeaks.
I have been having sporadic issues with the button/system of my drivers side window. It is an '06 XLT SCrew. The window always reponds when I am lowering, but there are times when I hit the button and it won't come up. I wiggle the armrest, or fiddle with the button and it will eventually work. I haven't been to a dealer yet, but I know this will totally fail at the most inconvenient moment. The other three windows work great.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2006 Ford F-150 with about 43,000 miles .. love it. However, my driver side window stopped working today. For about the past month when you would power up, it would delay and then go up. This happened every so often. Going down was never a problem. Some times window would go up, then drop down an inch or so. Now this morning I went to the store and the window won't go up and it is down all the way. I do not hear grinding, only clicking. All other windows work fine.
View 5 RepliesRolled it down yesterday. Won't roll back up. Without hitting any buttons, I hear a click in the door every 15 seconds or so. During these 15-20 seconds, when I hit the power window button, the door makes a clicking noise like it is trying to activate the motor, but nothing happens. Then it clicks, and for the next 15-20 seconds, no click, no noise, no matter how many times I hit the window switch. Then after the next click, I will hear a click again whenever i hit the button, and so on and so on, on and off every 15 seconds. I tried taking apart the switch box and checking the contacts. They were fine.

View 5 RepliesMy driver side power window on my '05 super crew f150 has stopped working. It rolled down maybe 3-4 inches or so and the stopped working and now will not go up or down. All of the other windows/locks/mirrors on the main switch work so I'm not sure if I should start with replacing the motor or try the switch first.

The problem began when a small accident damaged my driver's side door check (the small bar that keeps the door from swinging open too wide). The check was bent, and the window stopped going all the way down. When I removed the check, the window worked fine. Now I've replaced the check. The door works fine, but the window problem has returned.
View 1 RepliesThere's a film peeling off the inside of the drivers window. I didn't even know there was a fim there, I assumed the tint was in the window itself. It appears that it is shrinking away from the left edge and along the top of the window itself. The piece along the top edge has peeled off and is now actually flapping in the breeze! 1/8 to 1/4 inch, tops.

It will either lower and then not come back up, or not lower when the button is pressed.
Most of the time the button is tilted downward.
I just bought a 2005 Prius a couple days ago and have spent the weekend discovering "hidden" little issues. One was that after a heavy night a rain there was a small pool of water in the very back of the car underneath the cargo area near the wire that runs from the traction battery. In fact the little prongs holding a slim white (electronic) box connecting to the battery were rusted out.
View 3 RepliesI drive an '04 with about 86k. Shortly after I hit 85k i got into an accident that required both drivers side doors and the drivers window to be replaced. 2 weeks ago I noticed that my driver's window was excessively loud going up and slower to rise than the other windows. Upon closer inspection it seems that the rubber surround at the front part of the window gets bunched up requiring the motor to work harder to get the window all the way up. I fear that it is only a short time before the motor fails and the window becomes useless.
I plan to go back to the body shop and have them take a look at it. I am not fully sure if they caused the problem, my common sense tells me that the drivers window ought to be the first to fail, seeing as it gets used the most (garage tickets, drive throughs etc. But I am hesitant to replace the motor if the repairs were done improperly causing it to burn out). How much the motor runs? I am guessing that this will not be a cheap repair, but my hope is that the body shop will at least do the labor for free seeing as they replaced the window and the door and I now have this problem. I have to take the car back anyways, they replaced the fender and it is loose at the top.
I have an issue with Prius 2005 driver side power window constantly making clicking sound even after turning off the Prius. All other power windows works, just the driver side is having this issue. This started happening after I changed the 12V battery for my Prius.
The window still rolls down and up but it's very slow and making even louder clicking sound while rolling down and up. Also an other thing that I noticed is that windows keep going down slowly by itself after it's been closed. Any clue as to what went wrong with my driver side power window ?
