View 6 RepliesMy 2007 Honda Civic LX car horn suddenly stopped working after I had just used the horn a few minutes earlier. It does not work from the steering wheel and it does not work from the remote when I lock the car. The fuse seems to be OK (the horn seems to be on the same circuit as the brake lights and those are working).
I believe I can hear the relay under the dashboard clicking when I try to use the horn so I suspect that the horns are actually broken. But I was wondering how many horns the 2007 Honda Civic LX has? I have been told different things by different car mechanic/dealers. One said that it has only 1 horn and the other says it has two (one "high" and one "low"). What is correct?
If it has two horns I would be less inclined to think that both horns stopped working at the exact same time so it might just be a bad wiring or something What is reasonable to pay for repairing the horn at a mechanic?
I have 2010 Prius, package 2. My horn stopped working a few months ago. I never got around to seeing whats wrong with it. I am not sure if it is the fuse or what ever. Where the fuse box is? Or what it can be? I did have a back up camera installed shortly before it went out...
View 2 RepliesI have a 2007 with 68k miles, and both the power outlet under the radio area-passenger side and the one in the console just stopped working (I use them to power my GPS and to charge my iPhone and iPad). From poking around this site, I think this could be because of blown fuses, but it seems strange that both fuses would go at the same time.
View 7 RepliesJust picked up 2010 2.0 T GTI. Horn was working fine up until today. Just randomly stopped. Could it be that the horn goes that abrupt?
Checked the fuse, it's good.
I was working on the car today and had the battery disconnected. When I was driving the car a few hours later i noticed my horn stopped working. the alarm sound when the car is locked stopped working too. I was hoping it would start working again like the one-touch windows do, but they didn't.... I think I possible popped a fuse but didn't see any when i checked. I really don't want to drive 60 miles tomorrow on i95 without a horn.
View 21 RepliesLast week I got the airbag light up on my dash board. Then, my horn stopped working along with the radio controls. Now they are telling me its not being covered because of my aftermarket modifications. Now my aftermarket modifications are the following done through Vag-Com: DRLs disabled for HIDs, Remote up/down for windows.
So they are telling me they can not communicate with the module. Correct me if I'm wrong here, and I most likely am since I don't know much about this, but aren't they unable to connect to the module because.... it's defective?
Last weekend my headlights, wipers, turn signals, AC, and horn stopped working. Through searching and another post I narrowed the issue down to my ignition switch. After taking apart my steering column and getting the switch out, I found this...
The house which is connected to the switch, with the one of the red wires obvious fried....
So I'm hoping this problem and I'm wondering who else has had this happen. When I took apart the ignition switch itself, nothing appeared to be damaged. No burns no broken pieces, etc. the metal post on the outside corresponding to the fried wire on the housing was corroded, but that was it.
I think I need to replace the housing since all that plastic melted and I chipped it away to get to the connector. I can't seem to get the connectors on the wire off of the metal connectors that are supposed to be in the housing.
Yesterday the horn on my 2007 Passat has stopped working completely. I have read the owner's manual from cover to cover and the fuse for the horn is not listed anywhere in any of the fuse diagrams - either for the engine compartment cover, or on the fuses listed in the interior by the driver's side.
In addition the MFD steering wheel controls have also stopped working, and there is also no night time illumination on those buttons. I'm guessing as these are also located on the steering wheel that the two problems might be linked. I can live without the MFD controls, but the horn is a safety issue.
I have a 2003 F150. My horn and cruise both stopped working. All fuses are OK. Cruise controls are on steering wheel (as is horn). Why both would stop working???
View 2 RepliesI had my R for 6 years now and the electrical system is starting to go bad. Out of nowhere, my headlights, wipers, ac control, horn, and turning signals just stopped working. At least my radio works.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2005 Excursion 6.0 ... .. A few months back the horn started sounding on its' own in the night, so I pulled the fuse... .. Then the Cruise Control stopped working. I have googled references to clockspring failure and these problems... ..
View 3 RepliesNot sure the problem is related.
The horn no longer works. The air bag light is on, on the dashboard.
I have checked all the fuses and they appear to be good.
How would I diagnose this problem?
In my 2007 Prius my multi information display didn't come on when I started it up.
View 4 RepliesI'm having trouble with my '99 F-350 7.3L 4X4. One day, my power windows, cruise, dome light, horn, wipers, and 4 wheel drive stopped working. After checking all of the fuses, I have found no bad ones.
View 3 RepliesPrius 2004 with 86K miles. My brake led light on the driver side stopped working completely the other day. For some time now (6 months) i knew the top led of the brake light was not working, but yesterday I discovered that the whole led is failing. tail and parking light on the same assembly are working fine. I pulled off the plastic door inside the trunk and I checked connections for faulty ones but everything was tight in its place. Is there anything else I can do before preparing to go to the "butcher" dealer?
View 3 RepliesA week ago my aux input stopped working (ipod plugged in but won't show up as an option on the audio console).
View 2 RepliesToday I was driving to my office and suddenly my a/c stopped cooling. I reached my office nd parked the car. 5 hrs later I got the car from parking and everything worked fine. Again about the same distance a/c stopped cooling. And 2 mints later, following signs came on and I have taken the pictures. I am wondering what is about? Love prius but don't know japanese.
View 14 RepliesSo a couple days ago my key fob randomly stopped working. I search around the internet and found a youtube video describing how to replace the battery. I used a CR2032 battery. However, my keyfob still won't unlock my car.
Unfortunately, I bought it used and didn't receive a manual key with it (derp moment, I didn't even know there was one!) so I have no idea if it would even start my car. When I replaced the battery the red LED light flashed for maybe 10 seconds then stopped. It then doesn't flash if I hit lock or unlock.
I've had a 2004 Prius for about one year. It has ~120K miles and has been a great car. We left a light on, and the 12V battery died. We jumped it and everything seems to work fine, except now the air conditioner isn't working.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2004 Toyota Prius with 150k miles. Yes, 150k miles ... Anyhow it basically stopped working and the dealer said its probably the inverter that's throwing the code. Does the 2004 inverter is replaceable by all Gen II inverters? The dealer says 2004-2005 is different than 2006+ but eBay sellers don't think so. Can I run any 2004-2009 Prius inverter in my 2004?
