1. Neither tail lamp lights
2. License plate light works
3. Front parking lights work
4. Both tail lamp bulbs are fine (visual and continuity both check)
5. No power at the bulb socket on either tail lamp
6. Tail lamp ground in both bulb sockets is fine
7. Fuse under dash is not blown
8. All brake lights work fine.
9. All other lights working.
Purchased used 2006 and the left tail light does not work at times until I rotate the socket as if removing it. This happens frequently and then after about 3 weeks the bulb blows. I've confirmed the there is no socket terminal issue and no intermittent opens in the wiring to the socket. The buld internal glass blackens as if it is running too hot but the voltage measures slightly over 12V when I've measured it. The bulbs are rated at 13V. At this point the only thing I can think of is there must be an occasional high voltage spike that hits the left tail light but not the right tail light.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2006 King Ranch and right tail and brake lights don't work. The bulb is good. The fuse diagram in the owners manual is not the fuse box I have, so I cannot id the correct fuse to see if its bad.

View 11 RepliesIve got a '14 Pip, no new mods all my mods are atlas 6 months old. When I turn on my headlights at night and make sure the dimmer switch, by the fuel tank button, inside the cabin, is dimmed, the headlights work, the front parking lights work, the brake lights work ( WHEN I STEP ON THE PEDAL), but they don't turn on when I just have the parking lights on with out braking. So, to clarify, the parking lights (the two strip that are used as brake lights (led)) they don't turn on. what could it be? Some fuse? I made sure to cycle the column stalk switch a few times, and the dimmer switch a few times. Could removing and reattaching battery fix it? Should I take it to the dealer (~85k miles).
View 17 RepliesI have a 2004 F150 XLT and the passenger side tail light doesn't work whatsoever. The light does work for hazards, turn signal, or when braking. The passenger front turn signal works, so does the front and the driver sides tail light. Only the 1 tail light doesn't work. I bought a new brake light bulb and it didnt't fix it, so i swapped the drivers and passengers bulbs out, and it still didn't work. I replaced the 10 amp fuse (#36) in the fuse box. What is causing the problem.
View 2 RepliesMy 2006 has 121000 miles and started acting strange in March. I drove it to the dealer and it died. After the dealer ran the diagnostics test they gave the code for "bad cell 5" and "replace battery". The dealer wanted way too much so I had the car towed home and installed a rebuilt battery this week (my car set for almost 2 months). After putting in new battery it wouldn't start due to the 12v battery being dead. So I replaced the 12 v battery and now it still will not start but all of the displays work. I am getting the red triangle, the check engine light and the "exclamation in the car" on the main display. I don't know if this has any bearing on the problem but I did find the dealer had removed one of my spark plugs and left in under the hood. I re-installed it before attempting to start to car. Also, the water pump that has been recalled is still on my Prius and hasn't been replaced (would this effect the vehicle starting?
View 12 RepliesThe battery in my key for my 2006 Prius died. I replaced it. Now the automatic key detection thing doesn't work (when I approach the car I can unlock the door unless I dig my key out and press the button). Also, I used to be able to just keep the key in my pocket and the car would power up - now I have to place the key in the key slot in the dash to power up. Like I say though, the door lock and unlock buttons on the key work just fine (they didn't when the battery was dead). What's up with all that?

I'm trying to get my fog lamps to turn on when my parking lights are on and low beams are off. I obviously want the foggies to be on when the low beams are on as well, but mostly I'd like to have the fogs and parking lamps on in tandem. Not illegal here in Illinois (not that I'd care anyway...there's enough corruption in the state to overlook such little things).
How to make this happen without a) voiding any warranty, melting anything, and c) blowing any fuses? Pictures would be most useful.
I'm hoping to make an easy fix (take wire A out here, put in slot B here, etc) so that my Sonata looks a little more...unique.

After powering down and opening the doors, the overhead lamps will intermittently flash on and off (in a fairly slow succession...i.e. 5-10 seconds between cycles). I thought the 3 settings were: Always on, on when door(s) is ajar OR always off. I have it set to the middle setting and this oddity has me stumped (maybe I need to revisit the manual).
View 5 RepliesI need to replace one of the tailights on my wife's '06 RX330. It's one of the inboard tailights that, along with a backup light, is contained in a module in the rear liftgate.
How to remove the module for access to the lights? I see a screw/nut that apparently must be removed first, but after removing it, I couldn't tell whether module pulled straight out (or forward when the liftgate is closed), if it pulled to the side of the car, or if there's another fastener I missed. I don't want to pull the wrong way and break something......
How to remove the light lens that covers the headliner mounted door lamps? The one that covers the 3 lights with the 2 side switches in the top center. I bought LED's for the lamps but can't see how to remove it without butchering it up.

Last week both brake lights (just the upper, red part) stopped working.
A day later the right/passenger side light came back on.
Then the next day, the left/driver side light resumed working too.
Today both went out again.
Then the right side came back on.
My passenger side tail light (the upper part above the reverse lights) don't light up when you press on the break. Or rather, they light up, but just not as bright as the driver side. I took the car to the dealership and they told me they'd need to replace the entire tail light and I just wanted to see if that was indeed the case.
