What the heck could it be? It gets a little louder on left-hand curves of the road, but pretty much constant. Its not the tires, they are new as of a few months ago.
View 12 RepliesHave 2005 F150 5.4L 4WD Unit is trying to engage on all left hand curves and occasionally on straightaways, it has been doing this for about 1 month on left hand curves but just the last week on straightaways when it does it on straights you almost have to stop the tuck before it quits, has 70,000 miles and never been abused.
View 1 RepliesThe other day I hit a good size bump at speed, slightly bent a wheel which I didn't even notice at first. The car drove straight and had no other symptoms, thought everything was okay. A couple days later I heard a weird grinding noise while making a left hand turn, it was so faint I honestly thought it was the fender liner. After the noises continued and further examination I noticed that the carrier is rubbing the rotor on the lower drivers side corner.

2007 Explorer XLT 4x4, 4.0 OHV, AT, 89,000 miles on the odometer.
We took the truck to dinner last night so I could investigate the problem. This occurs while only making left hand turns at slow speed.
There is a definite clunk sound AND feel. It actually sounds and feels like we are driving over a loose manhole cover, and IT DOES feel like metal to metal contact on the driverʻs sids of the truck.
I have been getting this weird bumpy feeling when making left hand turns and even sometimes when going strait on the road. It does not seem to effect the breaking for acceleration of the car. This does not happen all the time and will start and stop without any change in driving.
View 22 RepliesMy Neon has this strange problem and I can't figure it out neither can my mechanic. Mainly when I'm making a left hand turn there is a knock sound underneath the car, like I can almost feel something jerking up underneath my pedals. And then after making the left hand turn and then accelerating... my car would almost feel like it was stuck to the left and jerk itself straight again.
NOTE: I have replaced/checked the Lateral and Radius Bushings, Control Arm Bushings, Sway Bar and I also recently got new rims and tires which at that point I got an alignment. But nothing has worked so far and I'm at a loss.
I am having a problem with my 2007 R32 manual,over the last few weeks its developed a whining noise in what seems to sound from the rear left side,more so when driving around a left hand corner (weight is off the noisy side),or when i let my foot off the gas and let the car run,ive jacked it up and when I grab the back left drive shaft and shake it, I found there's a bit of play on the side going into the diff, there's 70000 miles on it and no problems to date, looking for some info on what problem could be?
View 6 RepliesI got a heat shield that just will not stop causing me grief. When I installed the headers and pipes I had a heat shield that was too close to the passenger side pipes. I bent it down some to clear the pipe and got rid of a nasty metallic sound I had on the throttle and making left hand turns. Well that little sound returned last week and I crawled under and looked and sure enough the heat shield was touching again.
Who knows why maybe a bit a spring sag. So yesterday I bent it down a little more. Today I start getting a nasty clunk on dips and especially when on a bump why turning. I crawl under there too look and find the same heat shield now has a huge gouge on the under side of it where the leaf spring near the rear bushing is smacking it. I'm sure Ford put it there for a good reason so hate to remove it.

Just noticed a new sound. When making left turns only, a sound comes from the right. Sort of continuous high pitched. What is wrong?
View 12 RepliesOK so the car has been slightly drifting left for a while, at least a year, even after alignments. Last fall i had to replace the drivers side front axle just FYI. and then lately i have noticed what sounds like uneven wear, well i had my tires rotated and rebalanced last night the guy said the tires are "wearing beautifully" yet driving home i hear the distinct " hum hum hum hum" that speeds up and slows down respectfully, also i can "feel" it when driving on smooth roads. so now im thinking i need to take it back and have the axle checked out.

When I'm driving freeway speeds, whenever I make a right hand turn, I hear a low hum, and feel a slight vibration in my steering wheel. I know wheel bearings tend to vibrate all the time when going bad, but this one has me scratching my head. It also won't do it at lower speeds.
View 1 Replies06 sonata v6 standard 16in tires. I do all my maintenance, but i am stumped. A sound that is best described as a rattle crossed with a metal object (bolt/nut) rolling down a rail. Strange i know. Checked for rubbing, nothing. Made sure all bolts and nuts were correctly tight. Does it whether braking or not during any speed. May be dropped object, but neither I or a mechanic could repeat during Right hand turn. I have changed my front pads and dbl checked that is not the cause ( was doing it before change anyway) my fear is I'm missing something and am fearful of a mechanical failure.

Only 1 problem, every time I make a left turn my car makes this weird noise but I don't know what it is. I replaced my suspension and I thought it would take a couple days for the tightness to wear down and for the noise to go away, but of course with my luck it's still doing it. What can it be??
View 5 RepliesHaving issue with the 2006 Touareg instrument clusters. The upper left hand corner of the instrument cluster is getting dim. Also, my wife was driving to work the other day, and she stated that she heard what sounded like electrical arcing behind the console. Just curious. She has had the touareg in for service for the air bag error, which they had to order a part. Also, a mysterious headlight error keeps popping up, but then goes away. I don't want a fireball touareg.
View 5 RepliesRecent purchase of new 2014 Prius v model 3. Less than 5,000 miles on odo. Transmission shifted into neutral on two occasions when making a right hand turn while going over a small depression (drainage swail). Of course Toyota recommends that I take it to their dealer for diagnosis but if they can't pull the code they will send me on my way. Going to go anyway but feel it is pointless.
View 15 RepliesI have a 2005 with 168,000 miles on it. I just changed (well... about 3 weeks ago) the hybrid battery in it. Of course, the reason I did this was that I was getting the christmas tree lights and the codes - all pointed to the battery and since I knew it was about time, I succumbed! Just prior to that, I ran it for 2-3 weeks with it constantly going into limp mode, so I would have to pull over, shut it all down, power it back up and I was ok for several more miles. This went on until it got so bad that I had to replace the battery. Right around the same time, I accidentally backed up and hooked the right rear bumper on the curb - backed over the curb - so that it kind of ripped the right-rear side of the bumper off - broke the plastic clip/strip behind the bumper that held it on. Because of that, while my whole interior was ripped out, and my 'new' hybrid battery was installed, whenever it rained, water would enter into the 12V battery compartment in the right rear of the car, such that it would slosh around and you could hear it while driving. But during this same time, as I said above, after I put the replacement hybrid battery in there, the car ran great, except for 3-5 times a day when I am rounding an unusually sharp curve, when the red triangle warning light comes on for maybe 1-3 seconds and then goes off.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2006 Prius (150K miles) with a noise coming from the drivers left wheel. It is a hollow metallic squeak that only occurs while the vehicle is moving. It sounds like the wheel is making brief contact with something metallic at the same point on every rotation. The pitch of the squeak increases with the speed of wheel rotation. It does so while rolling, with breaks and without. The noise gets louder when turning right, and softer when turning left, though it begins to get louder again when the wheel is turned hard all the way left.
View 1 RepliesVehicle: 2011 Toyota Matrix XR 4-door hatchback ... A few days ago I noticed that my car started making an odd, very noticeable squeaking noise. The noise is coming from my rear left-hand wheel. It's audible from outside the car, and from inside with the windows down.
The wheel makes a squeak each time it turns, so the frequency increases with higher speed. It's audible from ~15km/h, below which the squeak is barely audible, up to ~70km/h, above which I can't hear it any more, maybe because of wind. It makes a slightly different kind of squeak from the same spot when I'm backing up. There is no other noise of any kind (nothing unusual is heard with the engine on, and the car stationary). There are no other problems at all with the vehicle. It's been about 4000km since my last oil change, I have that coming up soon, but I doubt that is the cause of this, since it's coming from the wheel.
What I can do is take off the wheel and take some pictures of the wheel and breaks to show ....
The car is a 2.8L w/ a manual tranny. The car was making a rhythmic clunking and clicking noise around right hand turns on the left wheel. So when the weight of the vehicle is applied to the left, that's when the noise occurs. The car has been in the shop for 6 days and the technicians have replaced both axle shafts (it was time to do so anyway) but the noise is still there!!! What could possibly be making that noise other than bad CV's? The rhythm of the noise coincides with the rotation of the wheel/shaft which is where they have focused. Could it possibly be bad strut mounts? This is driving me crazy!!! They tell me its perfectly safe to drive (how do they know this when thy don't know whats wrong?) but I can't imagine this can carry on much longer without something breaking.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2004 Honda CR-V, 100k, just did its 90k maintenance (a little late) and also had the ball joints replaced. Brought back from the mechanic and heard clicking sound when turning wheel hard left or hard right, only at low speeds, usually when parallel parking or simply sitting in park, turning wheel back and forth. Right back to the mechanic: they checked it out, re-lubricated everything, drove it, said it was OK. I got it home, still clicking. Safe to drive this weekend? It's back to the shop on Monday.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2006 with 106K miles. Noticed after making a sharp left turn in a parking lot that the Red Triangle came on along with a beep and the message, "Problem" on the touch screen. Started happening more frequently either when the wheel is turning left or if I'm driving straight and the car drifts a little towards the left if I'm on the highway. Today it happened about 6 times. Warning goes off after a couple of seconds.
