My headlights on my 2006 are hazy and yellow and the light output is reduced. I tried some plastic headlight cleaner stuff but it was clear for like a month, and now it looks even worse than before.
View 5 RepliesThe light output from these headlights has always been less that other cars on the road. I polished the lenses with the latest stuff. They look nice and clear, but the lights are not brighter. I put in new bulbs. No difference. I have a solution. Since I seldom use the brights, I want to drive with the brights on all the time and aim the lights so they are not blinding to oncoming drivers or drivers that I am following. How do I accomplish this?
View 9 RepliesShe was driving and she turned onto another road this morning and the Prius started making a popping noise which lasted about 30 seconds. She normally averages about 42/43 mpg but it is down to 37 mpg. She said she has noticed since yesterday the Prius did not drive the same (I am assuming she means the power). The Prius is a 2006 with about 105,000 miles on it. Nothing has ever been done to it since we purchased it new in 2006 except oil and tires.

Only problem is that the car has a system check & throws a flashing yellow triangle. How to trick the system?
There are 6 wires on the LED headlight harness.
I can't seem to find my manual, and I'm not sure if I should drive my car home after a warning light came on during my drive to work. It was a yellow exclamation point within a bracket. What this means?
View 10 RepliesMy last ride was as 1988 Ford pick up 275,000 miles ... the poor thing finally died ... but it gave good service right to the end. I replaced the Ford with a 2009 Prius and it's a great car. So far no problems just routine stuff until a day or so ago. The little yellow "Windshield air flow indicator light" can on. I checked my Bentley book and it doesn't tell me anything. So what I should be look for to fix the problem. Other than "Take it back to the dealer"

2006 Prius with 164,000 miles.
First in the morning, starts fine, 500 feet later I'm turning out of neighborhood and I get lit up with:
Red triangle master light
Yellow brake warning (went away after I did signal check)
Check engine
Maint required light
The maintenance light is on because I'm 5,000 miles out of an oil change. I checked the stick, it did appear low, so I added a half quart of mobil 1 5w-30.
The inverter pump was changed due to recall in 2012, and I do still see turbulences in the fluid.
I have 3 pips of gasoline in the tank.
The 12V is a newly replaced yellowtop from elearnaid. Replaced about 1 year ago.
My wife and I are driving our 2005 Prius with 130k miles and have experienced some weirdness with the car while driving. We've got the master warning light (red triangle w/ !), and another yellow (!) warning light, plus the center display shows a red car with an !. I've gathered that it means something possibly with the brake controller, so when I parked I put the e-brake on.
The car was driving fine with these lights on (we were in the middle of Canadian highways and couldn't stop anywhere) except that cruise control would not work.
Eventually, it actually went into limp mode, where we would floor the pedal and the car would barely accelerate. Pulled over, turned it off for a few minutes, then back on and it drove fine, warning lights still on.
I just replaced the driver's front wheel hub, and I can hear the passenger front going bad, so I'm suspicious that this may be related. Just replaced the 12v within the last few months with an Optima.
Yellow brake light turned on while driving in rain, then for some reason turned off. I had read somewhere this may be an indicator of wear on brake pads. I have a 90 mi. commute round trip, I will check again if this turns on and stays on. For now, it is off. what could be causing this?
View 1 RepliesI just recently had the hybrid battery replaced in the my 06 Prius. Probably about 2 years ago I had my right headlight replaced because it kept going out. Well now my headlight is back to going out again. However no it's no longer just the right headlight. It can be either. It doesn't seem to matter if it's smooth road or bumpy. Seems to do it alittle worse on really cold days but it's also done it on a couple 40 degree days we had recently.
The left headlight has a habit of flickering alot. Some times it'll stop and stay on, other time's it'll flicker and then go out. When the right headlight goes out, it doesn't flicker, it just goes out. If I turn the lights off and right back on, both headlights come on. They may stay on rest of way to work after that or they may stay on 5 minutes. It is something I can check via navigation console? Is my only option to take it to a Toyota dealer?
I have a leveled out 2006 f150. The issue I am having is i have replaced my rear output seal 3 different times the last time only lasted about 4 months before it started to leak again. What is causing this or how I can fix the problem?
View 3 RepliesI've had an issue with my 08' for a few weeks after returning from a 1 week vacation with the car sitting on the street in NYC. The symptoms are a noise associated with poor performance of the vehicle. It accelerates slower and requires more RPM. When you take your foot off the accelerator it feels as though there is a brake on or some additional drag somewhere in the front end. It's really evident that it doesn't actually glide, but it decelerates rapidly.

View 14 RepliesMy 2006 Golf V R32 DSG with 74kkm on the clock started acting up this following weekend.
Took a slow right turn, and BAM the yellow power steering light came up, along with the yellow sign for ESP deactivated and tyre pressure failure.
Then i found out, that a couple of turns to each side would clear the power steering fault light and shortly after the 2 others would follow.
When i tried that for about 4-5 times i took it to my local shop, where we tested it with vcds and the only fault was the steering angle sensor, which I then had replaced, and mechanic then reset the ESP for some reason.
Picked up the car, and it worked fine... for 10km then i had the excatly same thing accour again.
What can be wrong? I have thourgt about the steering rack, but the symptoms are not what others have encountered.
I am having heat issues with my 2004 Prius. Recently it has been difficult for the defroster to keep the windshield clear and the heat output is clearly not normal. It's chilly here in Vermont so having heater is important. I have been doing some reading in this forum and have gained some insight into how the heating system works.
One observation I notice is that the radiator does not seem to get hot at all. If I open the cap on clear overfill tank under the hood it appears to be full. In fact the coolant seems to be circulating through this tank. If I dunk my finger into the fluid it is only warm. There is a warning about not opening when hot but it is not hot so I can open it.
As I sit in the car I can hear liquid circulating through in the dash board area. When I change heater setting to enable different vents and defrost each change produces sounds that would make me believe the mechanical things are working ok. It's just not very warm.
At just about 21800 miles and 19 months service this morning the brake system warning light came on. This is the yellow brake system warning light, not the red brake warning light or the generally similar looking yellow low tire pressure warning light. No other warning lights are on in the service indicator panel. What troubleshooting can I do myself before taking it to service facility?

Could it be low brake fluid? Not sure how that works.

I started the car and was reversing from the drive when I noticed the car was in neutral instead of reverse and had rolled back itself on the incline I stuck it in reverse whilst rolling and a warning light came on. Although the car runs fine every time I start the car, a red square picture of a car with an exclamation mark in the middle of it flashes with the word problem underneath it. and on the dash there is a red triangle with an exclamation mark on the right and a yellow lit engine picture on the left side of the dash.
