My 2006 Prius front passenger seat (leather) squeaks constantly. Sounds like styrofoam rubbing against styrofoam. Been to Toyota dealer three times and they have not been able to solve the problem. Squeak only gets worse. Am I the only one driving a GenII Prius with this problem?

Is it possible to remove the front passenger seat? Is it just a few bolts? I have to transport my bicycle and it has an extremely long wheelbase (its a recumbent). I basically need the full length of the interior compartment to accommodate it.

1. Seat heater on front passenger doesn't turn off
2. Brakes squealing
3. Keyless Fob really doesn't work well
I must say after my 05, this 06 is truly a blessing. I can't begin to tell you how utterly amazed I am with this vehicle on a daily basis. Why doesn't the car have any speakers in the rear window deck? Was sitting in the back seat on Valentines Day and was amazed at how weird the car sounds without speakers in the rear? Was truly amazed that my rear passengers couldn't hear how great it sounds in the front.
Loving my new to me GX470. However shocked to realize that front passenger seat does not adjust up or down. Wife has missed this feature that all of our previous cars have had.
I have read other threads on the subject and was wondering if someone could not modify a drivers side seat mechanism to work on the drivers side. I am aware of the GPS disk etc.
The passenger airbag light only works 50% of the time there is a passenger in front seat. I've moved the seat forward and backward .. But ultimately the passenger must unbuckle, step out if the car , and sit back down in order for it to work. I took it to the dealer with its silver warranty package and the dealer can't find a code so won't fix it. "If it keeps doing it, come back." I'm not going to drive 20 miles out of the way, on one if the 50% chance days that it doesn't work.

View 1 RepliesIn my mom's prius V, on the front passenger seat, under where you put your legs, the plastic panel is like coming off, and when i am sitting in it, i can feel the panel hitting my feet. I don't know exactly how to put the panel back together. Also, Whenever I drive her Prius around I am always tempted to put it into reverse when I am driving around normally. I know I won't do it, but I just feel tempted too. What would happen if somebody actually put it into reverse while I am driving at high speeds? would it just not allow the car to switch gears or whatever? I was going like 3mph and switched into reverse once, car just slowed to a stop.
View 5 RepliesFor the past year I've had the front end squeaks and crunching from my 06 Sonata LX with 97k miles. It started with just going over bumps, then progressed to basically any movement of the body up and down. It's worse in the cold, but an issue all year.
I just did shocks and struts all around, with the mounts. Didn't affect the sounds at all. At 97k, the original shocks/struts were woefully dead. At least the car rides 10x better now.
Yesterday I changed out the sway bar end links with Moog K80949's. It does sound like some of the "crunching" is gone, and now we're back to just squeaking. I think even some of the constant squeaking over fairly normal roads is gone.
So, what's up next? The FSM suggest the lower control arm, which I'd prefer not to do. Sway bar bushings could be an option, but they looked kind of like a PITA to get to.
My 2006 PT Cruiser Touring Edition has a lot of squeaks from the front. Most noticeable at low speed going over speed bumps or potholes. My mechanic has checked front end and says noise is coming from rear cradle bushings and wants to drop rear cradle and inspect/lube bushings. Also says sway links are dry and recommends lubing these as well. Everything else is OK. Estimate is $100-$150. Other than the annoying squeaking (which I can live with) is there any other reason (safety/mechanical) to get this done?
View 2 RepliesI've got a 2006 b6 2.0 with about 92k on it. I bought it Cpo at around 68k 3 years ago this December. My auto tech said I'm going to need a new timing belt in about a month, so once this semester is over in a few weeks I'll be taking it in for that. Anyway, to my questions. My front suspension squeeks quite a bit going over bumps, especially when cold. Is this a sign of bad things to come in the future? Now my brakes, when they get wet they give off a very rough feeling, not very smooth. I have to slam on my brakes to 'wake them up'. Is this telling me they need to be replaced?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata that squeaks when I turn left while in motion. It squeaks regardless of the degree of the turn but is more noticeable at slower speeds. The squeak isn't a screech so I don't think it's a belt. it isn't a grinding noise either. More like a "squeak, squeak, squeak." Seems to squeak with the rotation of the tire.

It was 40 outside so I was using the heat; had it set to 76. I tore apart the flooring and found where it was leaking
View 3 RepliesShortly after having my tires rotation/oil change service, I noticed a strong vibration around 45 mph, enough to visibly shake the passenger seat. Other indications:
- It is most noticable when accelerating (e.g. entrance ramp), much less when coasting at 45. I can coast at 45 and when I accelerate feel the vibration increase.
- I did not notice the vibration prior to the tire rotation, so I think it is unrelated to my accident in November.
- The vibration is not apparent at all below 40.
- I had all 4 tires rebalanced (thinking one of them may have thrown a weight) and I still have the vibration.
- I do have a little irregular wear on the tires (inside shoulder).
Before I take it in and have it looked at, I was thinking of taking off one wheel at a time and testing the car w/ the spare on to see if it is one of the tires.
Any other ideas about potential problems that could cause this vibration?
135 plus pound passenger with seat belt on. Was intermittent on/off with passenger but now seems always off (off light 'on' ) meaning the passenger airbag is disabled.
I know the es350 was so bad like this that there was a threat of class action. I've read the weight sensor is in the passenger seat rail and you can also do a calibration with a scan tool.
I just bought a prius 2007.
I have a unique situation:
•No passenger: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
•Passenger with seat belt: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
•Passenger with no seat belt: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
I have no other warning lights on the dash.
I tried to check to check if there are any loose wires/connectors under the passenger seat but everthing looks ok.
Is there a blown fuse?
My front driver's side tire squeaks like an old mattress when I drive, especially over any bumps or when turning. Could this be caused by a cracked wheel rim? I got new tires and had them rotated/balanced about 3 months ago. The squeaking started right before this so I asked the tire place to check it out, but they said they didn't see anything. The squeaking has become increasingly more annoying since then. Note: I also got new struts about 6 mos ago and then drove my car across country. Since then I have driven quite a bit in the city which involves very bad pot holes.

It sounds like the leather is rubbing against something. The steering wheel squeaks during turns. I have about 3500 miles on my rig and the seat squeak appeared about 800 miles ago and the steering wheel squeak appeared about 500-600 miles ago.
