Prius (2004-09) :: 2006 - Front Airbags Deployed?
Jan 28, 2011
I just bought a 2006 Prius at an insurance salvage auction. I do not have the car yet for more exact details other than what I'm going to describe. The car was listed as a collision with rear damage, it doesn't have a mark on it other than a flat rear passenger tire. No front or side damages yet the driver and front passenger air bags deployed. I was wondering if the previous owner slid into a curb and if there is some sensor to trigger that. The auction listing said it doesn't start or move.

Friend of mine (whom I referred to Lexus) just bought. 15' GS on Friday. Friday night on the way home from the dealer (1 1/2 hour) he hit a 220-250lb 6-point buck/deer on the back road sometime after midnight, not even 3-4 miles from home. He is wondering whether or not insurance will total car. From the looks of it i'm hoping so too and all airbags have been deployed except front right passenger side. I would hate to take a brand new leased vehicle that never even made it home after repair.

So I'm trying to figure out how to properly remove deployed airbags from my 1995 Toyota Celica. I know people just cut them out and go from there. But I'm not the type to cut corners when it comes to repairing my car.I would really like to not have to take it to a shop if it's just possible for me to do so myself. Save time & money & I prefer to do my own work on my own car unless it's completely out of my legue. where I can find how to remove my 2 deployed airbags from my car the PROPER way..

2000 E150 - I see a pair of airbags listed at a salvage yard with module. Do I need the module? Do the "switches" that set off the airbags reset?

I bought a 2011 F350 that was in a collision. I have done collision repair before but I have not had to deal with air bags... Both driver wheel and passenger bags deployed. I see some for sale on EBAY for around 300 used....do I just by them and install them? Is there a reset or something else I have to do? I see some sell them with the controller as well...do I need that?

I am attempting to replace my antenna base and while removing the headliner I noticed the airbag curtain on the side posts. They are taped up and folded up like an accordion, but I was concerned that they might deployed if disturbed. Need to know whether or not they will release.

I am lowering the front end of my truck 3" using DJM Dream Beams. I have cut out the rear springs and replaced them with a four link lowering it 4" and installing an air bag suspension. I would like to run air bags up front, as well, but haven't been able to find much about that. What size to use?

I went to Jiffy Lube and got an oil change, fuel system cleaning and cabin air filter replacement & sanitizing. I drive an '09 Sonata with 112K miles. When the car came out, I pulled away and noticed that the airbag symbol on my dashboard was lit and the center console was flashing that my passenger did not buckle their seat belt (I didn't have a passenger or anything on the seat). I went back in and after they looked at it, they said they couldn't find anything that could've happened at anytime and was a "horrible coincidence."
Hyundai ran a diagnostic tests and one of the 4 things that came back was B1389 (in addition to B1516, B1324 and B1515). B1389 signifies "Oil Temperature Sensor Circuit Failure." If the guy changing the oil damaged this (does this even get touched on an oil change), could that have offset the sensors for the airbags?
I just don't see how they done the above listed work and coincidentally my airbags are all deactivated afterwards. I'm reading a lot of bad reviews online, including quite a few for NOT putting oil back in the engine after the change.

I don't know how to get the rear air bags out? I pulled the fuse, removed the shock. Lowered the axle. It seemed to be binding on the air hose. But it was dark and hard to see. Raised it back up and put the wheels back on. I am hoping they deflate overnight.
What is the process for getting them out?
Do I need to worry about the brake lines being stretched when I drop the axle enough to put the new springs in?
Do I need to remove or loosen anything else? Sway Bar?
Glad I quit, But without a book I am worried. I thought it was simple. The fronts only took a couple hours. Now I am stuck on the simple.

Well my rear bags are starting to leak so I ordered them. Now I can't get the air lines off without a Toyota SST 09730−00010. How did any of you all get them out?

noise in my front end. I know there is a lot of stuff going on there so let me try. Noise is more like a groan not a squeak, tick, not an engine noise or a brake noise. Applying the brakes or turning the wheels does not make a noise. Best way to describe it to me it is like a bad bearing type of noise. The noise is starting to get louder.

My 2006 Prius front passenger seat (leather) squeaks constantly. Sounds like styrofoam rubbing against styrofoam. Been to Toyota dealer three times and they have not been able to solve the problem. Squeak only gets worse. Am I the only one driving a GenII Prius with this problem?

My 86 diesel mercedes has a history of a bad transmission. Could not drive it for 2 years before having the transmission rebuilt only to end with no 3rd gear. Very loud metal sounds(not grinding) when changing gears as well as having to build up muscle tone to change gears. Anyway, driving along around 55mph when the airbag deploys with no collision. I pulled over safely, not sure how. After cutting away the airbag my husband tried to drive the car home. The stick would only move up and down but not into any gears.

My driver side airbag suddenly deployed while driving - Honda refuses to acknowledge this as a safety issue and will not cover the repair expense.

Looking for info on these replacements and is there any manuals out there to assist with the process?

So I am not sure if this is coincidence or not but... I just got done adding new stuff to my stereo in my 2006 Corolla Xrs. In the process the SRS light came on for the airbags. I took it to the dealer and was told it was the seat belt pretentioner. The dealer told me to check and make sure I did not hit any of the wiring when adding my stuff. I checked no wires or anything were cut that I can see. So, How do I fix this and what exactly does the seat belt pretentioner do?

So I'm swapping in a Black headliner for a friend and I've had no trouble with mine in the past, but his car has the A and B pillar airbags. I have the Positive Cable disconnected from the battery, how should I go about it.

Is it possible through VAG-COM to disable them on 2006 passat? Going to be having my second son soon and both car seats are going to be right next to them. I've never had any bad luck when it comes down to airbags going off. Still don't want to risk my sons safety. Also not sure but would this need to be done at a dealership because of a lawsuit possibility?

On Sept 10, 2011 I was driving towards a major highway when my airbag light came on. I just figured it was a sensor malfunction and kept driving. I proceeded to the highway and when I was up to 57MPH I put my cruise control on. About 3 minutes later both of my airbags deployed while I was driving. Do you think I need a lawyer?
