I have searched for but have not found how to remove the lower center dash panel on a 2005 Prius.

View 1 RepliesI could not figure it out. Looking for a good spot to hide an aftermarket gps antenna...
View 2 RepliesTrying to remove all the lower trim on the dashboard. Have everything but the lower right portion on the drivers side. The carbon trim on there seems to be tucked under the upper part of the dashboard itself and I can't remove it. I assume there is one final screw under there?
I can pop it loose a bit on the left corner but feel if I force that trim something is going to break.
How to remove the center dash air vent on a 2008 TCH?
View 2 RepliesMy wife has a 2009 Prius and the center display does not work. At first it was intermittent but now it is off and does not come on at all. We can still control radio & AC through the controls on the steering wheel. I checked the 2 fuses the manual associates with the display(s) and they are both still good.
View 6 RepliesI finally took my car in and the technician drove around with me. He confirmed that the noise was coming from under the dash. After some discussion with his supervisor, he came back and said it was the insulation pads which had broken down and needed replacing. He said this was due to the heat. He told me this involved taking off the dash board and was an all day (8 hour job) of about $800, but they would charge me only half, about $425. I was stunned because I have never had this happen in another car. I use window shield and keep my car in a garage most of the time. It does not sit out all day by any means. So I am looking for solutions before I go back and say that it seems this should be under warranty. I purchased the extended warranty when I bought the car new, but after reading over the packet, it does not seem to cover insulation pads in the dashboard. I love the car, but it is really annoying when we are driving around town and have a constant noise from the dash.
View 2 RepliesOK so I bought my Prius a little over a week ago and there was no rattle. I drove it 350 miles to get it home and it was completely silent. A couple of days ago I heard a slight rattle, and its not even a rattle is like rubbing 2 Styrofoam cups together, but now today it is extremely loud. So loud that I can still hear it over the radio blasted. I have pressed everywhere on the dash and cannot quiet the noise. It sounds like it is dead center under the vent. First thing I did was to come on here and research. I have read tons and tons of threads regarding removing dash and placing felt but I could not find instructions on how to remove the dash. Looking for step by step instructions?
View 4 RepliesDoes the UK gen2 Tspirit have a dimmer control for the dash panel and steering wheel lights. I can control the MFD but the speedo is to dark with head lights on in daylight hours in poor visibility.
View 3 RepliesI don't see how the panel below the steering wheel opens to access the ODB port to try out Carista. I played around with the little plastic piece that sticks out and tugged without luck. I could find any YouTube videos either.
View 6 RepliesThe 02 I bought at salvage, drove home but now sits in the driveway stuck in park.
I consulted my owner's manual (for an 03) and found the info on the override button under the driver's side lower panel. Well, I didn't find any small postage stamp sized tab down under the steering wheel adjuster as it shows in the manual. There is a small, postage sized, louvered plate directly underneath the gear shift lever. There is something attached electrical behind it that I saw when I dropped the lower panel.
Is that the switch or am I looking for another beneath the steering wheel ?
I would like to buy a V to deliver mail. I would need to remove the center console so I can sit in the middle. I did this in my 05. Can it be done fairly easily and will the mode switch come out of the console for mounting elsewhere, like under the dash or seat?
View 2 RepliesBlack dash panel has cracked or broken. My EX is from Oklahoma but had been garaged most of its life paint is good, the plastic outside on mirrors and cowl are still black but the dash panel is brittle. I installed a new radio and broke it just above the cluster taking it off glued that back together got the radio installed and all was good for about 2 months then it started cracking around the radio. Now the radio just slides in and out. Anyway I'm in need of a new dash panel not sure if I should go with an 05 or paint an older one to match.
View 14 RepliesI think my cruise control switch is bad. Is there a simple way to remove it without taking of the steering wheel.
View 4 RepliesSomeone broke my passenger side mirror..... I just purchased a OEM mirror. I guess I need to remove the door panel to install the new mirror. How to remove the FRONT Passenger side door panel? I have the 2015 Prius C One.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to remove the center console on my 2004 Camry. Removed the obvious bolts and screws but there seems to be more to it than pulling a few screws.
View 8 RepliesI just purchased a 2010 Barcelona Red Prius II to replace my 2008 vehicle of the same color (which is going to our daughter). We have a terrific dog who, in my 2008 car, would often step onto the metal part of the car when getting onto or off from the backseat. This has left scratches in the paint, as it lies behind the area protected by the grey plastic in both cars (i.e., where it begins to slope upward). Is there anything that can be done to protect this?
View 7 RepliesI have a 2012 Prius V, and somehow A tin of Altoids has fallen behind the drawer, (hidden drawer) of the center console. How to remove the drawer to access behind it?
I can't see any catch or release to trigger releasing the drawer. I also think accessing it by opening up the whole console from the top is risky as the EV, ECO, and PWR mode buttons are wired into it.
I recently bought the PriusLock and I just cannot figure out how to remove the lower dashboard cover. I remove the 2 screws as directed but cannot seem to get the lower cover to come lose ? Would like to know if there is something else like a tab that I have to press or release before the cover will come lose. My husband and I have tried "yanking" it pretty hard and it's still not working.
I have a 2008 prius with smart key system (not sure if the smart key system changes anything as far as the installation goes).
I am getting ready to install DVD headrest players in my RX400h. I am stumped on how to remove the read shield of the seat if that makes sence? I believe the are held in by clamps from middle to top but not sure what needs done at the bottome. And I can also feel two straps at the bottom.
How to remove the back so I can run the wires down the seat from the headrests? Pictures? Diagrams?
I have a 2011 Limited and the center console and dash around the nav system is very brittle and makes a crinkling noise when touched slightly. I can pop the shifter bazel and all the surrounding plastic off with a slight finger pressure. Over bumps and when I'm driving with side pressure from my legs everything makes noise.
View 8 RepliesI woke up this morning and started up my 2005 prius to warm up. I live in New England and it freezing out today. About 15 min or so later I go back out to the car that only had the heat on and I find a large red caution symbol on the dash. I check to see if the e brake is on and thats when I look up and see it, the main battery symbol on the gps screen. I looked at my battery and only one small bar was lit up. I then noticed that the engine sounded like it was giving all it had. I turned off the car and went inside to call Toyota. I am waiting to hear back from someone in service to tell me if I can drive it. I have under 90k and it is due for an oil change maybe it's over by 100 miles. I did get the recall for the water pump and was planning to have it done with the oil change.
