For a while now I have been getting water in the trunk of my old 2001 Prius. Its dripping from the left side (driver's side) cutout in the upper part of the trunk.
I tried resealing the rear window and I am confident there is no openings there. The only thing I can determine is that I need to replace the trunk gasket. Having a hard time finding a replacement seal for that model, 2001 Prius?
My 2002 Prius went through a car wash recently, and every since water has been dripping into the passanger side of the car. The water is from the air conditioning condensor and also, I believe, from rain. I believe the drainage hose is clogged... but can't find it. Can you tell me how I resolve this problem? By the way, my Prius has 215 k miles and is going strong.
View 1 RepliesI got extra rubber strip. All you do is put it at them bottom of the trunk lip all around. It will reduce water pouring into the trunk.
View 13 RepliesI have recently replaced the clutch, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, Strut tower mounts and brakes on my 2002 Hyundai Elantra 5 speed. Everything is working properly but now I have a transmission fluid leak. I can not locate the exact location. It appears that it is dripping down onto the passenger side half axle where it connects at the transmission.
View 2 RepliesMy 2006 Sonata GLS 3.3 started dripping water the other day from the ceiling handle. The drain hoses do not appear to be plugged, water runs freely out. I pulled off the headliner around the place of the leak, and I can kind of see a plastic attachment with the drain hose on the corner of the sunroof frame. The water is coming from somewhere from it, but not from the hose attachment.
My question is, Do I have to replace the sunroof frame? Is it difficult to do? Or can I get away epoxying around the leak if it's small enough? In any case, how hard is it to remove the headliner?
One last issue with my 2000 B3000 3.0L. The leak seems to be on the left (passenger) side of the water pump very near where the bottom radiator hose connects to it. I can't find any loose bolts. It does not leak while driving the truck or soon after. It has to sit for several hours or overnight before it shows up. There are usually 3 or 4 wet spots where it drips from the water pump to the frame to the driveway. It is small enough that I only have to fill up my coolant tank every 1 or 2 months. Could this just be a small gasket leak? It's been happening for about a year or so I think. I replaced the radiator about 2 years ago. I've been expecting it to get worse or bust loose and have been checking it very often. I've never seen one not leak while running like this-has me puzzled.
View 6 RepliesI have the 3.5 V6 Automatic 2010 95k miles. I have read places that say any fluid SP-III will work, then others that say any SP-IV. To my understanding, SP-III is not correct, and the fluid will need to meet SP-IV, is this correct? (Additionally, all the auto-part stores said Mecron SP-6 which is not easy to find).
Also, I have a mystery water leak, it is solely water dripping onto the exhaust just between the firewall and the engine. This happens for about an hour after the car is shut off; its getting cold here in Germany and haven't been running the A/C so that is not the issue.

View 1 RepliesI am getting a leak in both the drivers side and passenger side when it rains (by my feet).
I searched on the forum and it seems most people with a water leak tend to be from the A/C hose, but mine is not related to A/C since I can run air con all day and no water appears, but when it rains heavy I get leaks on both sides of the car.
I opened the hood and checked out the section under the windshield wipers (drainage area) to see if there was any debris, but it was clean - even the drain hole was clear.
I was thinking perhaps the seal between the windshield and the plastic section that is used to move the water might be leaking, as I noticed one area was slightly torn, but it was very, very small. Perhaps an adhesive to firmly attach the plastic drainage to windshield?
Have a water leak on the drivers side and the passengers side?
I got a shoe full of water when I backed up and stepped on the brake exiting my drive. Cleaned it up and felt around up under the back of the firewall/floorboard and found that the parking break and the break pedal had water dripping down. Also the carpet/padding up on the firewall was wet.
Checked the passenger side and it was wet too. I was thinking it might be a window leak because water was condensing on the front corners of the window throughout the day.
I have a 2003 sport trac that is leaking water like a hose but don't know if its a hose or water pump. How can you tell?? I have the water pump housing to change but when I fill the radiator and look under truck I see the water dripping out by the back side of the engine. Since I don't know where the water pump would be I don't know how to fix. I don't get taken to the cleaners when I get it fixed.
View 4 Replies=I have a Passat TSI 2.0 08 (48.000 Km) and since the begining of the raining season I have noticed that the basis of the lining of the lateral is soaked after rain. In order to investigate it bertter, I have removed the lining and did some tests with water. I came across a problem with the gasket and that hose that drains the water. It looks like the gasket is a little bit loose to press the hose in such a way it insulates its base avoiding water leaking into the trunk. Thus the water rolls outside the hose down to the trunk sides.
View 12 RepliesMy 1.2 54plate Corsa has been dropping a very small amount of fluid its dropping from the front left hand side but not sure on exact location the fluid is to watery to be oil I think but is worrying me it seems to be covering a fairly large area under the car but it doesn't drop only in very small quantities?
View 1 RepliesI had the engine replaced in my 2003. I know they had to remove the windshield wiper tray. Is this why rain water is entering the passenger floor?
Someone unfamiliar with Prius design did the work. If there's something that would have to have been resealed, I'm sure he didn't do it.
Any pointers to find or fix the leak?
Just purchased a 01 golf 1.8t 5spd and noticed it has a small coolant leak.. Left parking over 2 days in the same spot and it builds up a little puddle.. It's dripping down off of my oil pan and I haven't been able to trace it back to where the leak is coming from..
I've been told it could be my water pump? The car has 92k miles.
Just after getting my Prius I one day noticed water dripping down on my feet. I was just wearing my Tom's shoes so I noticed the quite small amount of water falling down on my left foot. I figured it had to be water stuck on the brake pedal dripping down...
A few weeks later my girlfriend complained about the same thing, but this time on the passenger side. Did not find out where the water was coming from.
Today it happened again on the drivers side. After heavy rain I sat down in the seat, started the car, and removed the parking brake and then it happened again. This time it was quite a bit of water! The floor is moist and it's wet up against the torpedo wall.
The car is a 2010.
2002 F150 FX4 w/ 5.4 Just sprung a new oil leak somewhere and I can't tell where it's coming from. The oil is actually dripping off the frame on the passenger side. It looks like the leak is somewhere at the back of the engine on the passenger side above the bell housing. It's dripping on the frame and running down a little ways before dripping to the ground. I can't get a good visual without removing the inner fenders. It's a pretty good leak that just started yesterday. Not a drop before then. I just had the oil changed within the last couple of days if that works.
View 3 RepliesI've got a 2001 Explorer 4.0L with around 160,000 miles on it. Just noticed this morning it has developed a coolant leak. It's dripping off the rear of the oil pan and appears to be coming from the passenger side somewhere above the oil filter. Without tearing a bunch of stuff apart, I can't really see for sure where its coming from. Are there any common issues with this? I'm hoping its not a head gasket...

I can see the water dripping down the passenger side floor, from the area of the firewall. It is filling the channel in the floor, under the door sill.
The truck sits in my driveway, with the nose downhill. May be windshield, or AC/Heater drain tube could be plugged. Does the '99 F250 have a drain tube from the AC?
I have a new 2015 Accord. After a recent rain storm I found about an inch of water in the well where the spare tire is stored. I took it to the dealer and they ran numerous leak tests but could not reproduce the problem.
Since the car was parked during the storm, I don't see how the water could have gotten in there except via one of the light assemblies or by getting past the gasket. In other words, it wasn't blown up into the trunk from the roadway. The puzzler is that the carpet in the car was dry when I found the water. I googled this for hours and I don't find others with 2015 trunk leak complaints. All the complaints are for earlier model Accords.
I have water in my trunk. It seems to be more on the right side (the passenger side) but if it rains hard enough it gets all over the trunk. Because both of my key fobs have dead batteries I haven't gone into the trunk in about 2 weeks so now its all moist and smells like a dirty fishtank in there. I even had a small piece of plywood in there that is now warped and moldy. I've seen some threads that talk about a drainage tube that runs from the sunroof to the trunk? Where in the trunk would I find this drainage tube? That would turn me off VWs forever. Just when i thought the Passat was the best car I ever had. I was planning on having this car another 5 years.
