The green lights work on the AC and Max AC buttons. However, when I attempt the ignition on, fan off, press AC button 3x, fan to auto - nothing happens. No light blinking at all.
View 1 RepliesI am on vacation and the AC has stopped working in my '01 Prius. I have run the HVAC diagnostic and it shows the "21" code. The only thing I can find related to this code is the solar sensor fault. I have located the solar sensor on the dash but am not sure how to remove (to replace) it. I have gotten the little black cover off of it but don't know how the rest comes out. Does it just pull out or unscrew or do I have to squeeze some tabs or what?
View 2 RepliesI need to get my 2002 Toyota Prius inspected. The Warning/check engine light came on so I ran a diagnostic (OBDII) on it and came up with P3006 Fuel Air Metering Auxillary Emission controls. What does this mean? Previously codes indicating cylinder misfire came up but those cleared.
View 3 RepliesI have a '06 santa fe 3.5L My "TCS OFF" light "ABS" light turn on and my "4WD" light starts to blink while I am driving. Also my Transmission shifts hard and the engine revs funny (hard to describe what it actually sounds and feels like) when the automatic transmission shifts from 2nd gear to 3rd gear. It shifts find from 3rd to 4th and down shifts from 3rd to 2nd just fine. Just have problems shifting from 2nd to 3rd and it only seem to happen when the lights I mentioned above turn on. What going on? Is this all being caused by a speed sensor? My ABS also seem a little touchy activating when road conditions are not that bad.

View 2 Replies2001 F150 5.4 Auto ... Truck was running excellent. Engine light and overdrive light begins to blink and it acts like its running out of fuel or water in gas. Baring made it home. Cleared the code and it comes back. Transmission seems fine.

In the same time, I can hear as if there is a piece of metal sheet somewhere in the car vibrated. Is this normal?

The mechanic followed the instructions and has been doing this for years so there is no doubt he doesnt know what he is doing. The first time came as a surprise but the second time i now feel there is something wrong with my car.
View 1 RepliesOk, recently my check engine light came on and i read the code with a cheap-o scanner. It read an o2 sensor code (up stream) i then read it again with a scanner that advanced auto parts offers for use, and it read p 1138 i think. I looked the code up on line and it was a fuel lean bank 1 or something like that. All the info i found sugests a smoke test of the vacumm system. I fist did a visual check of the hoses and also a few burst of carb cleaner and listened for the idle to raise but got no results. I also changed the o2 sensor for good measure, is there anything else i can try before i shell out the cash for a full diagnostic.

View 19 RepliesI made three ten mile trips this evening. On the first trip the "engine" light came on. This is the first time I have seen this light (2004 @ 134,000 miles). ScanGauge reports diagnostic code P0505. The "engine" light remained on through all three trips. Also, I was not able to get the ICE to shut down and run only on battery at all, even though the battery was on the upper level of charge and the engine was warm. There were long stretches where I normally run on battery at around 35 mph. I'm supposing there is a connection.

View 9 RepliesI had our '04, 149,000 miles in for PA state inspection and emissions test as well as to be looked at because of a P0505 diagnostic code. The symptom of the diagnostic code was that the ICE would not shut at all. The past few months I simply cleared the code (ScanGauge) and things were immediately back to normal until the check engine light came on again.
Anyway, in response to the P0505 today they replaced the air filter (I checked, it is installed correctly), checked for vacuum leaks (all okay) and cleaned the throttle body. My wife picked up the car this afternoon from the repair shop (independent, but mechanic trained by Toyota for Prius). Upon arriving home she said I needed to drive it because it is acting very strange. We drove it this evening and indeed it is acting strange. A number of times the engine revved up to 2800-3000 rpm when my foot was off the gas, e.g. slowing to go around a corner or even when sitting at a traffic light. The SOC was normal (blue bars), not high or low. It was also interesting, because even though the transmission was in D, the car was not pulling to go forward, e.g. at the traffic light-- in D, engine revving, but car just sitting there as though it was idling or ICE off.
The ICE would shut down and go to battery mode appropriately. However I noticed that the mpg would not go about about 110 when backing off the gas going down a long hill at around 50 mph (engine warm, battery normal charge). Normally this would bump it up to around 200.
This latter symptom of mpg not going about 110 is a bit subjective and we only drove around 20 miles this evening, but I know we did not experience the engine revving before the car being serviced today.
So figured out how to put my head unit on my base model PiP into diagnostic mode. I can't disable the reverse beep from this window... is there anything else worthwhile I can do in this mode? Beside accidentally deleting all my destinations that is.

I started and drove my car for several miles today, then it started to run rough. I pulled over, then called a tow truck to tow my car back home. I have a high-level scanner/code reader that read P0K92 and P0K7K codes.
I have a 1999 F-150 w/ 4.2 V6. and auto trans, truck has 219,000 miles on chassis but only 25,000 on engine and 10,000 on trans. I've been getting obd codes p0705 and p0715. I replaced the position sensor on outside of trans. but I continue to get the codes off and on again. I noticed that the O/D "OFF" light on the shift selector blinks simultaneously when the "service engine soon" light comes on. I've noticed that there is no low gear unless I have it in D from a dead stop, and not even when downshifting manually.

The dash lights blink to when the right turn signal is on.

View 13 RepliesRhe problem is that both sides blink fast the left one used to blink normally sometimes and fast again. All the light bulbs work and are not led. I found the problem on the right side : in the front the side light blinks but the drl doesn't blink with it. Now both sides blink fast. What part of the car i should check ?
View 3 RepliesI had my 07 prius detailed today and it looks real nice BUT, I started it up afterwards and the touchscreen was in diagnostic mode and the warning lights on the dash were acting up. The warning lights seem to be OK now except that the tire pressure indicator flickers like it is partially shorted. The issue with the touch screen is that it alternates every 10-15 seconds between diagnostic mode and the regular display but only when the ICE is running. If I am just sitting in shutdown idle ( like at a stop light) it behaves fine.
