My 2002 Prius went through a car wash recently, and every since water has been dripping into the passanger side of the car. The water is from the air conditioning condensor and also, I believe, from rain. I believe the drainage hose is clogged... but can't find it. Can you tell me how I resolve this problem? By the way, my Prius has 215 k miles and is going strong.
View 1 RepliesLast year I found out that the roof drainage system can get clogged over time. This result is water in places that you cant imagine. Its raining on the east coast and I see water in the passenger side wheel well, which means that the problem is back.
View 2 RepliesFor a while now I have been getting water in the trunk of my old 2001 Prius. Its dripping from the left side (driver's side) cutout in the upper part of the trunk.
I tried resealing the rear window and I am confident there is no openings there. The only thing I can determine is that I need to replace the trunk gasket. Having a hard time finding a replacement seal for that model, 2001 Prius?

I can see the water dripping down the passenger side floor, from the area of the firewall. It is filling the channel in the floor, under the door sill.
The truck sits in my driveway, with the nose downhill. May be windshield, or AC/Heater drain tube could be plugged. Does the '99 F250 have a drain tube from the AC?
I have recently replaced the clutch, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, Strut tower mounts and brakes on my 2002 Hyundai Elantra 5 speed. Everything is working properly but now I have a transmission fluid leak. I can not locate the exact location. It appears that it is dripping down onto the passenger side half axle where it connects at the transmission.
View 2 RepliesWhere I should start looking for the root cause of the following leak? My wife noticed that when it was raining water dripped off the handhold by the front passenger seat. The ceiling liner is dry, no evidence of water soaking into it. I am thinking windshield or door seal as there is no moon roof and the liner is dry but before I start tearing into it I want to see if there is even a chance I can fix it myself.

I have had it to three mechanics and each has said they fixed it by cleaning the tube that on the left side of the firewall. one even put a sealer around the tube and firewall saying it was leaking through the factory sealant. but like old faithful the van leaks still what can I do?
View 2 RepliesThe sunroof drains on my '02 wagon clogged, causing water to start dripping out of the overhead console. ARF! The repair is gonna cost me a lot. What sounds really strange is that the mechanic tells me that the outlets from the drain tubes are slightly crimped. This makes them impossible to flush and requres removal of the headliner and interior A-pillar trim sot that the hoses can be pulled and replaced. The mechanic then tells me that he will cut off the crimped portion of the tube outlets to enable them to flow freely. Crimping the outlets sounds like a really stupid thing to do. What purpose could this serve?
View 7 RepliesI have a 2003 sport trac that is leaking water like a hose but don't know if its a hose or water pump. How can you tell?? I have the water pump housing to change but when I fill the radiator and look under truck I see the water dripping out by the back side of the engine. Since I don't know where the water pump would be I don't know how to fix. I don't get taken to the cleaners when I get it fixed.
View 4 RepliesI am getting a leak in both the drivers side and passenger side when it rains (by my feet).
I searched on the forum and it seems most people with a water leak tend to be from the A/C hose, but mine is not related to A/C since I can run air con all day and no water appears, but when it rains heavy I get leaks on both sides of the car.
I opened the hood and checked out the section under the windshield wipers (drainage area) to see if there was any debris, but it was clean - even the drain hole was clear.
I was thinking perhaps the seal between the windshield and the plastic section that is used to move the water might be leaking, as I noticed one area was slightly torn, but it was very, very small. Perhaps an adhesive to firmly attach the plastic drainage to windshield?
Have a water leak on the drivers side and the passengers side?
I got a shoe full of water when I backed up and stepped on the brake exiting my drive. Cleaned it up and felt around up under the back of the firewall/floorboard and found that the parking break and the break pedal had water dripping down. Also the carpet/padding up on the firewall was wet.
Checked the passenger side and it was wet too. I was thinking it might be a window leak because water was condensing on the front corners of the window throughout the day.
Just after getting my Prius I one day noticed water dripping down on my feet. I was just wearing my Tom's shoes so I noticed the quite small amount of water falling down on my left foot. I figured it had to be water stuck on the brake pedal dripping down...
A few weeks later my girlfriend complained about the same thing, but this time on the passenger side. Did not find out where the water was coming from.
Today it happened again on the drivers side. After heavy rain I sat down in the seat, started the car, and removed the parking brake and then it happened again. This time it was quite a bit of water! The floor is moist and it's wet up against the torpedo wall.
The car is a 2010.
I have a 2005 Toyota Camry LE, 4 cylinder. Every time it rains the passenger side roof lining gets wet and floor gets a puddle. I did not see any drain holes in the moonroof area. I have read that the drains get clogged, but cannot find them. Looked behind the front wheel wells and did not see any drain tubes.

View 4 RepliesI had the engine replaced in my 2003. I know they had to remove the windshield wiper tray. Is this why rain water is entering the passenger floor?
Someone unfamiliar with Prius design did the work. If there's something that would have to have been resealed, I'm sure he didn't do it.
Any pointers to find or fix the leak?
2002 F150 FX4 w/ 5.4 Just sprung a new oil leak somewhere and I can't tell where it's coming from. The oil is actually dripping off the frame on the passenger side. It looks like the leak is somewhere at the back of the engine on the passenger side above the bell housing. It's dripping on the frame and running down a little ways before dripping to the ground. I can't get a good visual without removing the inner fenders. It's a pretty good leak that just started yesterday. Not a drop before then. I just had the oil changed within the last couple of days if that works.
View 3 RepliesFor the last couple of days I have noticed that I have water dripping from the engine area of my after I park or stop. The dripping appears to stop after some duration (usually don't wait to how long it persists) but I don't recall seeing this the earlier in my ownership (first 12 months of owning 2010 Prius). It clearly appears to be water as it has no color or scent and when it dries, it leaves nothing behind. The only change that comes to mind is that I have been using the front defroster which I did not use before. It is not due to using the air conditioning, as I don't use it during the AC during the winter months at all.
View 4 RepliesI have an 2002 which I bought new. It's got low millage, just over 92,000. I took it into the dealer for a free state inspection and was told that the water pump is leaking. Given the age I'm not too surprised although I don't know what the reliability is like on that part.
I want to verify myself that the water pump is actually leaking before having it replaced but don't know where it is or what to look for. Googling hasn't been too useful - I get lots of hits about the inverter pump, not the water pump.
I have not seen any signs of leaking on the ground under the car. There was no mention of the water pump leaking when I took it to the dealer at 90,000 for an oil change, with my original service advisor.
Is the water pump something that I can fairly easily inspect? Where do I find it and what do I look for?
I have a 2005 Prius. I came home the other day and parked the car in the garage. I came back out the next morning to find a large puddle of water in the garage and the car still dripping. The drip is from the PS front bumper area just ahead of the front PS wheel. This is not the typical AC water puddle; we have two Prius so I am familiar with that one. I searched here and found a few threads on water pump issue but the description did not quite match what I have going on.
View 7 RepliesI'm driving a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe with 83,000 miles on it.
Had it in the shop (dealer) a couple of weeks back for some work on the transmission. While there, I had the dealer perform the work for Recall 090 (corrosion of rear trailing arm). Since that time, there has been a clicking noise coming from what I believe to be the right rear wheel (it is definitely coming from the right [passenger] side). The noise sounds like metal rubbing up against metal, for lack of a better description. The noise is directly correlated to wheel rotation... the faster I drive the vehicle, the more frequently it occurs; the slower I drive, the less frequently it occurs.
The noise is very noticeable, and I am certain that it did not exist prior to my latest visit to the dealer. I am considering taking the vehicle to an independent mechanic this time, as the dealer repeatedly tells me that they aren't to blame, or I end up leaving the dealership with more problems than I arrived with.
