This is my first 2000 Prius.
Speakers would be nice as they don't work. I want to install them myself/front door speakers.

How to remove the drivers side kick panel? It has the hood release lever, which is holding me back from figuring out how to get it off. I don't want to keep experimenting because of the chance of breaking something. I'm trying to install some after market speakers and need to get behind it to run the speaker wire to the door.

View 1 RepliesWhen ever I park my 2001 Toyota Prius for a long time in a sunny weather it gets hot inside and outside. When I want to start the car all the front panel lights and alarms will go ON. I still can drive the car without any problem. I could not get any code with the OBD2 sensor. All I can do is to delete the code. Again it just happens when the weather is HOT.

Both my front door speakers are shot. They are blown and sound like crap. I need to replace them so which speakers to get. I would like to replace the rear extra cab door speakers as well.
View 11 RepliesI recently replaced my front door speakers in my 2005 RX330. Upon reassembling everything I had the following issues:
1) The front Passenger side window and rear seat windows would not roll down from the driver's side controls. This issue was resolved by going to each individual window control and rolling the window down halfway and then rolling them all the way up and continuing to press on the window control in the "Up" position for an additional 5 seconds or so.
2) My original Lexus key (non-remote) would work for staring the car, but it would no longer work to unlock the doors by inserting it into the Driver's side door lock and moving the key toward the front of the car.
3) In attempting to resolve issue #2, I disconnected the Car battery for a couple of hours and reconnected it, which leads me to my big problem(s). Now none of my windows will roll down from ANY window control (including the front door driver's window). In addition, the doors can only be locked/unlocked from the Lexus Key Remote or from the front Passenger door lock control.
I have checked all fuses that I could get to (under the hood and under the drivers side dash panel) but I still cannot get the windows or door locks to function normally. I could not get to one big blue fuse under the dash panel right next to the fusebox that I believe is related to the power windows. I am not sure if it also fuses the sunroof, which DOES function. I pulled the Negative Battery cable off a second time and did another reset but to no avail.
So I've had a gremlin in the front door of my wife's grey Mk6 GTI since we got it. I took it to the VW dealership only for them not to fix it. The door panel sits on the woofer in the bottom of the door and it sort of sounds like the speaker is blown, but if you pull out on the panel pocket the sound goes away so I'm pretty sure that it's the panel and not the speaker. I attempted to take off the panel and didn't read up on it first so I broke the pocket (like a friggen moron). Now I both need to problem solve the sounding speaker but also find a replacement door panel. I live in Severn, MD.
View 4 RepliesI took off the door panel of the passenger side door because i needed the serial number for my speaker which is going out, well once iI got everything i needed i replaced the door panel back on it was actually quite simple and took less that 10 mins I didn't even unplug ANYTHING, but then when i get into my car to start it up and go to my mom's house it wont start, nor will it unlock with the key, the lights and everything come on but the engine wont start!

I never put anything there. My assumption is that is finally shrunk during hot summer days and now loos and there for makes that noise.

I took the radio out (without nav and without jbl) and checked if everything is connected. Everything was fine. I checked if the speakers were connected and removed the door panels to check it. Everything was fine again. What could be wrong? Are there any other connections I should check?
View 6 RepliesI had the Rosen HU installed today. All functions are working. However, the front speakers will cut out from time to time, and then come back on by themselves. The power loss to the front speakers is typically 2-3 seconds, but has lasted as long as five seconds.
The installer followed all directions. The antenna is on top of the unit itself, behind the dash.
I own a 2009 GEN III Prius with full nav and the standard 6 speakers, no JBL. It has 2 speakers in the dashboard, 2 speakers in the front doors en 2 speakers in the back doors.
I upgraded my front speakers with 3 way JBL GTO 938 speakers, expecting to improve the low and mid frequencies. Unfortunately, the results are disappointing: Apparently, the speakers in the front doors only get LOW frequencies. So, the real lows are fine now, but I expected more from this.

Recently 2 of front driver side speakers stop working(1 on dash,1 on door) only when I listen to radio and stream music from my iphone. I played with the L/R F/R balance and made sure about it. However when I got phone call and using navigation guidance voice it works no problem.
View 1 RepliesI've had 2 Priuses 2010 lose the oil change door from the main protective panel under the car. Many have posted about this design flaw. My question is: Does the 2015 Prius also have this potential problem? I remember reading forum posts about the TSB regarding this issue on the 2010 which I was too late to take advantage of. I would rather address this now before my warranty expires on my 2015.
