the blinkers keep working and not working now they aren't of course.. but the left one only worked then something happened and the left only stayed on (not blinking) when the head lights were on. then it switched now they don't turn on at all. the fuses are good the relay is good all the wires are good I got new bulbs in as well and pointers. it's a Pontiac starchief 1966 and the flasher is good

View 7 Replies2003 Accord with 161K+ miles on it.notice several months back that the oil light would blink about 1 to 5 minutes into driving. I would turn the engine off, sit for 10 or 15 seconds, and start it back up and never see the light again the entire day.
this would happen once a week or so until I would get the oil changed, then I wouldn't see it again for 2000 or 3000 more miles.
Had Honda check it out, they found nothing wrong.
Lately, it happens more often, always first thing when driving, 1 to 5 minutes from starting.
Today I noticed something that makes me think it is a bad sensor; I have to make a U-turn today and I took it quite fast. As I was in mid turn I noticed the oil light KIND of flashing/blinking/trying to come on... like a light does if you hold the switch around the middle, flickered dimly. After I completed the U-turn the light did not stay on.
My wife has a 2003 Pontiac Grand am GT 3.4L V6. A few days ago my wife was out and tried to start the car and the service engine light came on and began to blink. (Prior to this the car was running well with no service engine light) The car was running very rough at this point so we shut the car off and I pulled the codes at witch four codes came up witch were: P0205, p0206, p0300, p0443. So I had the car towed to the shop and they said that they thought that it was the oxygen sensor but after that had been replaced they had concluded that the oxygen sensor was not the problem so they had placed the old one back in. Then they said that they restarted the car and it was running fine but then pulled it out of the shop and began to run rough again.
At this point they were thinking that there was a short so they checked the wiring from the ecm (?) back to the oxygen sensor and could not find any problems. And needless to say they started the car and it began to run fine again so they told me to come and pick it up and drive it for the weekend just to see if it was a lose connection that was possibly there. So needless to say once I picked it up the service engine light was still on but the engine sounded good so I figured I would drive the car home and maybe the light would shut off. Well upon taking off and getting a few miles down the road the engine started to idol at 2000 rmp when in park or neutral.
So I stopped and pulled the code and got P0443 again so while I had the scan tool connected I cleared the codes to see if the light would come back on with the same code or with multiple again. The service engine light stayed off. So the high idol continued for a few miles I also did try to restart the car and the problem did persist. About 5 more miles down the road the car started to overheat and the reservoir had overheated. So at this point the engine sounds good it is not running rough but is really high idol. The check engine light did not come on since I cleared the codes in that short drive but I do not want to drive it because of the overheating. I do know that the coolant level was good when we started the car.
Nissan Pathfinder SE-V6 4x4 My blinkers quit working, but flashers still come on. All 3 brake lights also went out but tail lights still work. when the car is cranked and blinker is on there is a buzzing (alert) sound and the oil temp light comes up on the dash, there is no sound when the key is in the on position, only when it is cranked. Occasionally there is a crackle through the speakers that usually goes away when I turn it off. I don't know if the last part is relevant but I figured I would put it in anyway. Is this an easy fix or are there serious electrical problems?
View 1 RepliesMy passenger side front signal light works properly, but when I turn my hazard lights on it will not blink normally (the other 3 blink). Inside my truck when looking at my dash I see the small green blinking arrow for the left signal, but not for the right when the hazards are on. When using the signal normally, I see the small blinking green arrow for the right signal though.

View 1 RepliesTurn signal lights into parking/turn signals (6th gen 2011 Camry LE)? I replaced my parking lights with a bright led that matches my headlights, but I would like my turn signals to be on when my parking lights are on.
For some reason I thought they turned on with the parking lights (my other cars do), so I bought some switchback led's and after I installed them I realized that my turn signals don't come on with the parking lights. Is this something I can do by swapping out a relay or with some minor wiring changes?
I am planning on getting the relay below to stop the hyper-flashing and am curious if it would do anything else, common sense makes be believe it will not since the lights don't currently don't turn on, but I am not 100% sure. Also, is 1 relay better than another? They all seem to be the same with the exception of some have controls to adjust the flash speed.

I have a 1997 Ford F250. My trailer lights will work, but I have no brake lights or turn lights. I have checked all my fuses and all the fuses are good.
I was told it was probably my trailer tow relay, so I bought it at O'Reilly's, but I don't know which relay it is exactly.
I just want to know which relay number it is so I can replace it. And, if this doesn't sound right, is there something else I should be trying?
So here is a fun one for you. Somewhere in my wiring I have a short that is causing my lights, blinkers and ignition to all activate. Example, I lock the car, the dash lights, brights, everything flash on and off with the horn... Should be a fun one, car runs and drives fun, however when I turn on the lights both blinkers and the bright come on the dash, weirdness.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2006 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer with Towing Package. I just recently bought a Trailer and when they tested my 7 pin plug, I was only getting Running lights and 12v Charging. Im not getting Left/Right Blinkers or Brake. There is NO power. I checked all Fuses. The problem is, I cant find the Blinker/Brake fuse. The manufacture book does not show one.

View 8 RepliesI have a 2000 VW Passat which i bought used from a dealership about a month ago. Just two days ago i was driving home, i was about a block away from my house when i went to indicate and nothing happened. The little arrow lit up green but didn't blink. My lights didn't blink. And there was no noise. I tried the other side and the same thing happened. I pulled up outside my house and shut off the car. When i turned it back on everything was working again. Then, yesterday i was once again a block away from my house when it happened for a second time.
Not having a proper blinker, in my opinion, is very dangerous. What should i do?
Also, my car is very loud. Someone suggested that i might have a hole in my muffler. others have said it's because it's a Turbo engine. But my mom's Audi is a turbo and it doesn't make VOOM VOOM noises.
My electric power steering went out and simultaneously the red power steering light illuminated on the dash. I pulled off the road and turned the car completely off and restarted. Normal steering resumed. I took the to the dealership and they got a code for "Steering Angle Sensor". The mechanic said replacing that would probably not fix the problem and said the whole steering column would need replacing. He said the steering checked out fine and passed all tests while in the shop and did not recommend doing any repair. He said it may never fail again.
A month later I had the same power steering problem happened again and was again able to fix by turning the car off then back on again. I took it to a different dealership for troubleshooting and they said they were not able to communicate with the "power steering control module." They recommended changing the module. I have checked for recalls and contacted GM and they said it is out of warranty. The car has 58000 miles.
My dash lights have a weird glitch when the headlights are on. I can hear a click and the dash lights will go out and immediately back on almost like a blink.
View 13 RepliesOk, so I got a really wierd problem with headlights. 2001 F150, Supercrew, 4x4, 5.4L Auto lights and fog lights. Sitting with ignition off, light switch in "off" position, doors not locked - lights will occasionally blink off and on(more of a flicker). Symptoms go away if I lock with remote.
With engine running, lights "on" position. Turned lights to "park", they started to flicker, back to on, still flickering. Switched to off, still flickering. Switched to "auto", lights stayed on with no flickering.
When lights flicker, I can hear a rapid clicking under the dash somewhere(relay of some sort?). Headlight is a bit wobbly. But when I wiggle it, it has no effect on flickering. From what I remember, likely culprit is the GEM module.
Question: does a new module have to be programmed in any way or is it plug and go? I have a new headlight switch coming.
