What are the steps to remove the left side vent assembly? The hinge is broken on my wooden cover and poking around I can't seem to get the whole vent assembly out.

I noticed that very little air came out of the vent when riding shotjun and thought it might be because the vent was open in the glove box. The vent pops right out and I saw that the cable was not connected to the vent, as it should be?
How to remove the center (upper, right above the radio) dash vent assembly on an '04 Passat (I assume many other years would be similar). I have a rattle/squeek in there that I'd like to address. Sliding a credit card in between the vent/dash provides some improvement, so I'm thinking if I could get the assembly out and shim and/or lube it I might be able to resolve the problem.
View 2 RepliesI can see where there is a 1/4 inch post that if turned will push the assembly out, but i can only get it to come out about 1 inch. Is there something else that has to be released ?

How do I pull out the map light assembly? The whole thing not just the bulb covers.
I tried pulling from the rear but it won't budge and created a crease in my headliner.
Is there a certain way to pull it down? I don't want to damage the headliner anymore since it's not even a week old yet.
I'm doing an install on my son's 2000 passat V6 30 valve.
I have the front rad pulled out and there is plenty of room to work. How do I get off the viscous fan assembly. I removed the fan's 3-4 allen bolts, I now need to get the assembly out. I also removed one of the long allen bolts in the actual assembly. I have the fan ribbed pulley secured with an old serp belt and grip wrench. I am trying to losen the large nut behind he fan assembly. I have attached a photo to point of reference. I may have a manual next week yhat may explain all this.
A while back I posted a message about a humming sound that sounded like it was coming from the left side of the dash behind the left air vent.
I talked to the master tech from my local VW dealer and he tells me that the humming from the left side of the dash is not the CAN BUS. He says that there's a water pump high in the left front wheel well that is supposed to run as part of the engine cool process. He says it's not supposed to run during normal operation, but he has heard a LOT of complaints about the noise.
He suspects there will be a fix from VW given the number of complaints, but he says that it's normal and nothing to worry about. Just a little annoying.
How do you remove rear turn indicator assembly so bulb can be changed?. Specifically is there another screw besides the two on the end of the assembly. Once the two are removed the assembly is loose but something is still holding the assembly.
View 2 RepliesHow do you remove and reinstall just the lens in the rear light assembly in 2002 SC430 ? I can see that it probably just snaps out using a screwdriver as a pry tool but want to be sure !
View 5 RepliesTried to remove my rear interior light assembly up on the headliner but just couldn't figure it out. I can pry the clear lens off pretty easy but I want to remove the whole assembly from the headliner so I can put some sound deadner behind it because ever since I upgraded my sound system it rattles like crazy and is driving me nuts. I know guys have dropped the whole headliner to dynamat or sound proof it so someone's gotta know.
View 2 RepliesThe driver and passenger side were no problems at all, but the center vent is giving me trouble. I've seen the how-to, but can't get it to pop out. I don't really have a proper screwdriver, at home, to push up on the two clips on the top inside of the vent, but I used a hard plastic interior trim removal tool, while prying at the top with another. I have left the bottom controls in as I can't pull the left side buttons out enough to disconnect them while the vent is still in.
View 4 Replieshow to remove the AC vents without breaking them? When I turned my AC on today it sounded like there was something blocking this vent and restricting airflow. It's very annoying and I'm not really sure how to go about trying to get in there to unblock the vent.

View 2 RepliesI've had the car diagnosed on a VAS 5051. Everything is fine, and the car should start (it does on easy-start). However, it doesn't start. I've disconnected the pipes from the fuel filter assembly and fuel is coming to the filter but nothing is returning. What should I diagnose first, Is something blocked, or could it be to do with the injectors?
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to remove the middle console vent cover to install a kuda mount. It says to pry a bit with plastic tools right to the right of the vent between the plastic and the leather/pleather. Getting nervous and don't want to crack the cover or damage anything.
