View 18 RepliesI replaced the battery, red light lights up but none of the functions work. Other remote works fine. I followed the instructions in the manual about resetting a remote but it doesn't work. Started doing some research and found many options and spare parts available. Also found several different ways to reset but none have worked. Thought it might be a good time to replace the worn remote with a new one too. I ordered new parts, put the immobilizer in the new body and it starts fine but still can't get any of the remote functions to work.
View 2 RepliesMy battery went dead so I replaced with new. This did not fix the problem so I replaced the alternator. It's working now but the battery light stays on. I think I still have a problem.
View 3 RepliesI got my Phaeton, certified pre-owned, at 23k miles. Until 45k the brakes were flawless. Steering felt solid, no vibration or feeling of shaking of any kind when the brakes were depressed.
At 45k, I got the telltale "squeak" while depressing the brakes. I took the car in, was recommended to replace all corners, pads and rotors. The replace brakes message did not appear but I was pretty sure it was coming.
So I performed the recommended service at my local, Phaeton certified, VW dealer.
Here I am, 4k miles later, I am getting a vibration in the wheel while pressing the brakes. It seems to have gotten worse from 3k to 4k post-service. Also I hear and feel a "rubbing" noise while reversing that seems to respond to the brake pedal. Almost as if the brakes are engaged while reversing even while I'm not pressing the pedal.
I've had several other cars with warped rotors and the vibration in the wheel would lead me to believe that may be the case here. In my other cars this has only gotten worse with time. So I am contemplating discussing with the service manager to see what can be done. I drive the Phaeton quite gently, not aggressive at all.
After the recirculation motor being replaced on the air con either coincidence or not the hazards are not working, had read somewhere can be a pinched wire behind the infotainment. I have found the main fuses in the cabin but no detail card.
View 5 RepliesI guess the thread title says it all. VW service agent says that they can't find something like this on the VAG scan - is this true?
View 2 RepliesI have a Prius for a company car. They have replaced the battery twice now and the thing only has 44000 miles on it. Got in it again after leaving an account this morning and it would not start. I let it sit about twenty minutes then it started. All my radio stations go out and every day I have to reset the clock. They have sent it in twice now and cannot find an issue but it keeps happening. Today was the fourth time in less than two months.
View 18 RepliesI have replaced the battery, and start relay. Sometimes it starts like a new car. Other times nothing. All the lights and radio work, no sound from engine when you turn the key. 2001 Cadillac STS...
View 13 RepliesI just replaced my battery and am wondering if by doing that my the system that counts 5000 miles until next oil change reset. My clock, radio stations, the consumption (miles since last fill up) all reset, so I'm wondering if the count to 5000 reset also. The odometer did not reset though, and the gas tank amount was correct. Just wondering because I didn't write down when my last oil change was.
View 1 RepliesI have 07 passat.2.0 t.
My call didn't start two days ago, turned out to b dead battery. Got it replaced at local euro shop but now AC is blowing warm air. Called the shop they say, they didn't touch any wiring related to AC.
*could there be anything they forgot to hook back up that's causing this?
* any fuses I can check?
* do our cars need AC recharge?
I replaced my dead battery today. Once the new battery was in everything worked just fine except for the radio. The radio is not in safe mode it is completely dead. The radio worked after my last jump. I had turned it off before replacing the battery. Now it will not turn on and the security light does not blink.
I have checked the fuse and it looks good. I have removed the fuse for a while and put it back in with no luck. Is there a trick to getting it to come back on?
Replaced battery and, when I did, the alarm went off. Tried to start suv while alarm going and totally dead. So I hit the remote to stop alarm and it still won't start or even turn over now. It barely turned over with old battery, but at least turned over, but after alarm, no clicking, no nothing.
View 1 RepliesSo my car was having trouble starting about a week ago and it would barely start and finally friday I was trying to go to work in the morning and it didn't start i had to jump start it and it worked!
Well today I bought a new battery and installed it and the windows worked and radio i put in the code and it works but now my problem is the Alarm wont work!
Is there a way to reset the alarm ? I lock the doors with the key and don't hear the beep sound to my alarm anymore. And before i replaced the battery the sound was there but it was really low it wasn't how it used to be how could i fix this problem ?
I have a 1988 Volvo 240 DL that I just replaced the battery. It started right up after it was installed. We drove it home and parked it for one week without trying to start it again because we still have parts to buy to pass safety. I live in UT. My son went out to start it today and it would not make any sound or turn over. What should I check next? Starter Solenoid? Alternator?
View 2 Repliestoday I replaced the battery on our 2002 Camry SE 2.4l because it was incredibly slow to crank today...but it did crank. So i get a Duralast Gold to replace a Toyota TrueStart battery, and it started up fine. However, it was idling at 200-400 RPMs, so its already not right. So I drive it a quick mile or so, and when letting off the gas the RPMs drop to 200-400 while going down the street! Coming to a stop, it really wanted to stall out. Couple stops later, it did stall out, and the Check Engine light, Battery light, and Oil light all came on. Trying to restart it it cranked, started, but then immediately died. You know when you start it the RPM needle goes high and then comes down a bit? It does that, but the needle won't stop and it just goes to 0, and throws the Check Engine, battery, and oil light. I finally got it cranked, and all 3 previously mentioned lights are off when its running. It has done it one other time about 3 months ago when I disconnected the negative battery terminal for some work, and it did the same exact thing. It ended up just fixing itself, but obviously not since its rough starting and the problem came back the next time I disconnected the battery.
View 14 RepliesI recently replaced the battery in my key fob, just as a preventive maintenance measure. All worked fine for the first couple days.
Now, when exiting the car I push down on the door lock inside the door, get out and the doors unlock immediately. Only way to lock the car is to press the lock symbol on the fob. Touching the handle no longer works to open it. I must use the fob. The button beneath the steering column is in the correct position.
Bought a 2010 Prius V new and have put 100K on it since Sept. 2009. About 9 months ago, the 12v battery died. I ordered a Yellow Top replacement from Amazon, charged and installed it. Six weeks later, the new battery's died. I charged it again and suspected the engine's wasn't charging the battery. I took it to Toyota for an electrical checkup and they say all is fine. Six weeks later, the battery's dead again.
This time, the charger says it has a dead cell and won't take a charge. Amazon replaces the battery for free. The cycle repeats three more times and again, dead cell. This time I go to Toyota and buy their expensive battery. The cycle continued four more times (although I haven't had a dead cell indication). I've been back to Toyota for follow-up twice and each time they say there's nothing wrong with the car. The last time they told me we weren't driving it enough to charge the battery but I know that's because we take several 150 miles trips every other week or so (plus daily commuting time).
I'm thinking there's something that's causing a slow drain and wondering if it could be the digital system that keeps your inside lights on after you exit the vehicle and then slowly dims them, only it's not going completely off due to age.
I have replaced the Traction battery AND the 12volt battery. I clear all codes by disconnecting the 12 volt battery for a short period of time. I reconnect 12v battery and no warning lights. I drive for 10 miles and RED TRIANGLE, Check Engine and the Brake lights also come on the dash. 2006 Prius 130K miles.
View 16 RepliesI have an '07 ES350. I was riding my motorcycle today and the key to my Lexus fell out of my pocket at 140mph. I recovered it to find that it popped semi-open. The key battery had become loose and damaged. The microchip looks just fine, as well as the key fob itself. I replaced the key battery and the key was not detected by the car. I used the procedure to start the car by holding the fob up close to the start button. It worked just fine, but the key fob will no longer lock and unlock the car.
View 2 RepliesPurchased an 04 Prius with 140k miles and bad HV battery. Used torque app and pulled original codes for bad HV battery. I was able to drive/limp the car home for tear down and replacement. After installing a used HV battery that had 80k from and 08 car. It will start but shutdown after a few seconds. I was able to put it in to drive and move it but it still dies. Energy display shows no battery status and now I get the connect to air conditioner communication warning. The battery's are reading 15.2 volts each from the torque app these are read in pairs so seeing 14 readings all within .1v of each other. I am not getting any codes from the computer.
View 19 RepliesI have a 2005 Prius recently replaced the hybrid battery. Not so happy with it, my mpg b4 was 49-51 mpg, now I only get 40-45 mpg. I notice the car is a little weaker and the ICE rev higher everytime I accelerate.
