Yesterday I found that I could't lock the Phaeton by pressing the button on the outside door handles .
I could only lock/unlock from the key fob . Is there something I can do to resolve this short of going to a service dept ??
I have a 2008 Phaeton v8. The keyless entry feature on the exterior door handles has stopped working. The car neither locks or unlocks using the keyless entry feature. I tried using accessing the car with different key Fobs to no avail.
View 2 RepliesMy car got into an accident and the driver side door needed to be replaced. My wife picked the car up from the shop, but i guess she did not think anything wrong with the car. My problem is as follows:
When I go to grab the handles of my car (driver, passenger, trunk) with my key fob in close proximity (pocket), instead of the double beep signalling an unlock of the doors, there are multiple beeps (maybe 5 sets of double beeps) along with the emergency flashers flashing.
I started the car with keyless push button and almost immediately moved the gearshift selector from Park P to Drive D. I drove like this for several miles on traffic-congested surface streets. The Phaeton felt as if I was on 2nd gear. Upon stopping, and moving gearshift selector to P, Phaeton would not turn off engine by hitting the keyless push button Start/Stop. I had to plug in the key (had not done that in a long time!) and twist it counterclockwise to kill the engine. Upon rebooting the car (used to be called re-starting the engine, I guess), everything went back to normal.

A couple of days ago I tried to open my locked car by pulling the outside handle as usual, but the car door would not unlock. I then tried the remote key, but still no access granted. Finally I used the key to open the door manually. Upon starting the car, the clock started turning around and re-set after a complete revolution of the dial. I was not able to lock the car with the door button, but the door locked with the remote key......... I figured the battery in the key fob was low on power, so I replaced it. Everything worked fine for a day, but then the same issues returned the next day. The next time I drove the car, everything was good, and its been good for two days now.
View 7 RepliesMy daughter has a 2001 S60. She's noticed lately that when she pushes the lock button on the key fob that the driver's door does not lock.
The other three doors lock, and the alarm sets. Not sure if I just need to get the shop to pull the door panel and lubricate it, or if it may be more serious.
My driver side door is not locking with the smart key or by hitting the button on the handle I can't seem to figure it out...
View 5 RepliesI have a 2012 Golf R that has the Kessy system. I get "Keyless Defective" on the screen and am unable to lock/unlock doors by touching the handles. Key fob lock/unlock buttons work fine.
It ended up being a plug had come undone. I have a feeling it's the one that's just under the back of the rear seats. I was installing stereo wiring and it kept coming apart. What to look for under the hatch floor or the seats?
I am trying to keep driving my Astro until I pay off my wife's new car. Repairing the door shouldn't be a problem if I could get the door open to remove the inside door panel. How to get the door open? Can't use the inside or outside handle now.
View 5 RepliesWhen we parked our Camry tonight and went to lock the doors with the fob we got the long continuous beep like a door was open but they were all closed. The door ajar light was on. I got in and turned on the ignition and the light went out. Interior lights went out. I then turned the car off took out the key out and the dash door light went back on, the overhead lights went on also. The doors open with the fob after locking with the internal lock. The key light follows these other two. So three lights the dash overhead and key are affected. There is no 15 sec time out but the 20 minute time out seems intact.
With the car running the lights do the right thing. The dash indoor indicator goes off the overhead and key dim to off. I can open a door the door ajar light comes on with the overhead lights. Is there a relay I should be looking to identify?
So, I was over rearranging some stuff at the self-storage unit the other day and was getting warm, so I took off my coat, with the Treg keys in the pocket, and tossed it through the open driver's side window. Inadvertently pressed up against the door lock button in the handle and guess what....the doors locked, contrary to what is supposed to happen, or not happen that is, that being that the doors are not supposed to lock with the button when the keys are in the car! Good thing the window was down!

At the first start of day when I pressed on brake pedal and got the green light on power button as usual I pressed power button and never got ready condition, trying to figure out what is happening I have had this condition occur almost every morning (outside air temp around 40 degrees F) also when I went to train station to pick up my daughter I shut off for about ten minutes and it happened again.
As the title says the cruise control is not working, the cruise light comes on but no workee after pressing the the set button. I have followed the steps according the the owners manual.
View 13 RepliesSo when I press auto(physical button) and have my temp at HI or 85, it turns on the AC as well. Why this is? I thought auto was supposed to adjust everything to get it to that temp. AC is also on when I hit the front defrost(physical button).
This is on a 2013 Premium with rear seat controls, and S Flow and 3 Zone is off, if that makes a difference. Maybe I'm missing a setting somewhere, I'm still pretty new to all this coming from a 99 GS 300!
I managed to replace all the damaged gears and other hard parts in my 2002 E150 transmission 4R70W and did a full rebuild on it after it self-destructed. I did not change the solenoid valves but I now suspect that I should have. It shifts smoothly until you get to the time that overdrive should engage but it doesn't. If you drive a bit at a steady speed around 50 mph the OD light on the shifter will start to flash.
Once you turn it off and restart it, the flashing stops. I did not drive it again to see if it repeats, but I can tell that Overdrive is not engaging. Pressing the OD off button does not seem to change the engine RPM. Is it most likely the solenoid valve or could I have not put it back together right?
The interior door handles that is. Not the actual chrome but the black plastic that is made to be held when closing the door. Damn I hate it. Gives the car such a cheap feeling.

I have only this on the rear, but i can move this only in the direction of that arrow, and only for 90 c, here's the pic ....
Just noticed the other day that the door handle on my GTI squeaks when pulled, especially when done slowly. The only one that does it is the driver's side. I'm guessing it needs some kind of lubricant?
